The "Adjournment" Episode
Oktay_Tuna4 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
As the title says, this episode is an adjournment for the final one but the move which is put in the envelope is very strong. This episode is crafted beautifully with drama being spectacular. The thing I loved about this episode is how her fall is caused by just a night at the hotel. She was going very well but then "blip". That's all it takes to fall if you are an addict, and the show does a great job portraying that. Anya Taylor is again amazing(I mean you should have already understood that) and is magnificent especially in the second part. Seeing Jolene made me more excited for the finale and I really do hope to see Mr. Shaibel in it as well. It is time for the "End Game".

It was great episode. Back to the roots. I was thinking whole time why Harmon is not taking care of her friend that was left in orphan.

Give Anya Taylor-joy her Golden Globe!!

This episode was beautiful. The set pieces, the outfits, the cinematography, THE ACTING!! This episode sums up what makes this series just as amazing as it is, the captivating montages, the engaging dialogue and absolutely mesmerizing set pieces. This episode had it all, we saw the rise and fall of Beth as she slowly succumbs to the same fate as her mother as she battles with her addictions, we saw heartbreak and anger, absolutely outstanding!

A brilliant mini-series

Anya Taylor-Joy is perfectly cast as chess prodigy Elizabeth Harmon in this gripping, emotional and cerebral mini-series. Lovers of chess and those with no idea of the game alike will love this Cold War drama. The characters are engrossing and Taylor-Joy excels in the lead role. She has grown as an actress immensely since she played the title of 2016's Morgan. The period is convincingly recreated including 1960's Las Vegas. A real treat!

Partidas Adiadas

Warning: Spoilers
O Gambito da Rainha (2020)

Series

1st Season

Episode Six - Partidas Adiadas

"Pathetic? I'm looking at a pathetic person"

Not to my face, Beth, so as not to ruin the wake.

What an idiot this guy is.

I can't see all of Beth's love for Dudley, not for Phineas and Ferb, with just a "hi" I already feel it, even though Phineas and Ferb only think about him (although Beth does too).

Let's see the reason for the girl's return from the orphanage, I hope the caretaker is well, Beth hasn't paid her debt yet.

Beth's decline is incredible, but unfortunately this had already been said to her when she was little.

The place where Phineas and Ferb live looks a lot like a kidnapper's place.

Episode six of the first season of the Miniseries O Gambito da Rainha watched on May 13, 2024.
