Cartoon Network is rebooting Ben 10 — the animated tale of an alien-empowered pre-teen — for “a new generation of kids,” it was announced on Monday.

Comic-Con International has released the full schedule for Sunday July 24th for San Diego Comic-Con 2011. This is the final day of the convention. Sunday is known as Kids day and is usually the slowest of all the days, there are a few surprises though. In all my years of going to Comic-Con I've never been to a panel in Hal H. Usually nothing is happening in Hall H on Sunday, this year there are a few TV programs going on in Hall H such a as Glee, Supernatural, Doctor Who, The Cleveland Show, Sons of Anarchy, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and this year Buffy the Musical will be in the great Hall as well. I've never been to the Buffy Musical event, and I think I finally want to go this year. A couple of other things worth noting are a one on one panel with Nathan Fillion, and Max Brooks talks about zombies.

If past years are any indication, Comic-Con will begin releasing its official 2011 panel schedule later today (Wednesday) with the schedule for Preview Night, Wednesday, July 20. If that happens then we can expect them to follow suit for the rest of the days, so that Thursday will see the release of the Thursday of Con schedule, etc., through Sunday.
Once the official schedules are posted these “TV and Movie Panels and Screenings Updates” will be scaled back to just the date, time, title, and location, since the rest of the information and So Much More (including comics panels, autograph signings, etc.) will be available on the Comic-Con schedule link we’ll provide. Consider this, then, the last of the extremely long posts, and hopefully we’ll be getting that official schedule soon.

The second update but absolutely not the last. We have yet to hear from the major networks, Syfy, TNT or USA about their panels. More to the point, we have yet to hear from Comic-Con, at least as to the official schedule.
As you may know, they resold the returned 4-day passes on Friday, and those sold out within a couple of hours. It likely only took that long because only a certain number of people could be purchasing at one time. Returned one day tickets will go on sale shortly; if you’re interested in attempting to be amongst the lucky few who will achieve tickets, you must be following Comic-Con on Twitter for the latest updates
Information added to this update includes Locke & Key, Dexter, Shameless, Homeland, Archer, Wilfred, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Sons of Anarchy, Shark Night 3D, Haywire, The Raven, Immortals, Thanks to THR...

Woo Hoo! Comic-Con 2011 info is really starting to flow! As a veteran attendee, one of the most exciting things I’ve seen are the blurbs that come out on the official schedule, being released early by studios! First out of the gate for that appears to be from Warner Bros. Television Group. The panel blurbs, along with the dates, times, and room numbers, have been released in a statement. For this post we scrapped the previous format in favor of Comic-Con’s format whenever that information is available. Here we go!

Joel Silver has signed on to develop a live-action feature film based on Ben 10. The Cartoon Network show has consistently high ratings, managing over 4 million viewers for recent live-action TV movie Ben 10: Race Against Time. Now Matrix producer Joel Silver is hoping to make the series a big screen film franchise. Ben 10 is the story of Ben Tennyson, a boy who can transform into 10 different alien creatures with the aid of his Omnitrix, a device he wears on his wrist. Joel Silver said, “I think we have to try something fresh...

Ben 10, Cartoon Network’s science-fiction franchise about a boy who can transform into 10 alien life-forms, will be adapted into a live-action feature film by Joel Silver, according to Variety. The film will be produced by Silver’s Dark Castle Entertainment. Ben 10 has already existed as three different animated TV series — plus the live-action TV movie Ben 10: Race Against Time — but Silver indicated that the big-screen Ben 10 will be a complete reboot of the franchise.

Joel Silver been brought in to produce and develop a live-action feature film adaptation of Cartoon Network's animated sci-fi series Ben 10. I doubt he will bring in the Wachowski siblings to direct this one, even though if he did it would probably be awesome.
I've never watched an episode of Ben 10, but it's popular among the young boys of the world, and I have all girls so that explains why I've never seen it. There was also a live-action TV movie made called Ben 10: Race Against Time, and apparently it brought in around 4 million viewers, I imagine it couldn't have been that good. Silver's goal is to make an exciting live-action big-budget film with the potential to be a franchise. They want to go as big as they possibly can with this one.

For a while now, The Cartoon Network has been trying to add live-action programs to their line-up. While the early experiments didn.t fare very well, the unscripted shows "Destroy Build Destroy" and "Dude, What Would Happen?" have become solid hits for the channel. Then, too, "Ben 10: Race Against Time," a live-action version of an animated series, also did well back in 2007. So it is no surprise that Cn has added "Unnatural History" to its line-up, with new episodes airing on Tuesday nights. Here.s the program.s overview, as provided by tv.com: .This show follows Henry Griffin, a teenager with skills acquired through years of traveling the world with his anthropologist parents. He must now...

Another day, another update to the Comic Con schedule. Previously we posted Fox's press release detailing the shows the network would be bringing to Comic Con (July 21-25), as well as details about the various panels. Today, Warner Brothers has announced the timing of its various panels and screenings. It looks like WB will be pushing its new CW show Nikita this year, with a special screening to be held on Wednesday, July 21 (otherwise known as "Preview Night"). I've seen Nikita (more on that in a future review) and the question is whether it's worth your time. Well, I liked the show. A lot, actually. So if you can attend the preview, then I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Meanwhile, we have details about the Fringe, Supernatural, Chuck and Smallville panels below, to name but a few.

One remake we're looking forward to that has a really good chance of being good is Alex Winter's redux of The Gate in 3D. If Winter can capture just a fraction of the original film's charm then we're pretty damned golden. Some concept art snuck online today along with a boat load of details about the film.
Winter will be working from a script penned by himself and Kerric Macdonald. Charlotte Huggins (Journey to the Center of the Earth) and Andras Hamori are producing. The legendary H.R. Giger will be designing the creatures
Synopsis
When best friends Miles and Terry discover a mysterious crystalline rock in Miles's back yard, they quickly dig up the lawn in search of more. Instead, they unearth the Gate—the opening to an underground chamber containing terrifying evil.
The teenagers soon realize the horror they have unleashed, as one dire event follows another. With supernatural fiends invading suburbia,...

Cartoon Network is moving forward with a live-action/CGI telefilm based on its animated series "Ben 10: Alien Force," tapping Alex Winter to direct and John Turman to write the script.
The movie follows November's live-action movie "Ben 10: Race Against Time," which Winter also directed. That telefilm was based on the original "Ben 10" series, in which 10-year-old Ben Tennyson found a watchlike device that allowed him to transform into different alien life forms, each with its own unique powers.
"Alien Force" will be based on the network's second animated "Ben 10" series, where Ben is now a teenager and has discovered the ability to transform into a new set of aliens. The show debuted in April as the network's most-watched original series premiere among kids 6-11.
Winter also will executive produce "Alien Force," which Cartoon chief content officer Rob Sorcher said will be a "visually brilliant film." The movie is in preproduction, with casting under way at Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank.
Winter is repped by Apa and Evolution. Turman is with Apa and Circle of Confusion.

Cartoon Network set records with the premiere of its live-action/CGI movie Ben 10: Race Against Time, while Showtime's Weeds had its best season finale ever.
The 90-minute Ben 10 movie, which aired at 8 p.m. Wednesday, averaged nearly 4 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. That makes Ben 10 the most-watched telecast in network history, surpassing a 2002 telecast of Dragon Ball Z.
It also was Cartoon's most-watched telecast in more than five years among kids 6-11 (1.5 million) and kids 2-11 (2.1 million) and ranked as the No. 1 telecast for the day among both demos in all of television -- broadcast and cable.
Ben 10 also set records as Cartoon's most-watched telecast ever among boys 2-11 (1.6 million) and tied the record as most-watched telecast among boys 6-11 (1.2 million), on par with a 2001 telecast of Dragon Ball Z.
The movie was based on Cartoon's animated action-adventure series Ben 10 about a young boy who, with the flick of a powerful alien wristwatch, can turn into 10 different aliens with amazing superpowers.
