Curiosity Builds a Ferry, and Creates a Train Reaction
WeatherViolet16 August 2010
Curious George finds himself with two perfect days on his hands....

First, when the Man with the Yellow Hat transports Curious George from the City to the Annual Model Boat Show across the bridge, Curious George notices in the river below a ferry boat's carrying automobiles upon its deck, two of Curious George's favorite things, and so he asks the Man with the Yellow Hat to explain how cars and a boat travel together.

After receiving his explanation, Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat arrive at the Annual Model Boat Show, which introduces Bill the Country Neighbor Boy in his first series appearance. But Bill has his newspaper route to consider, and so he asks Curious George to keep an eye upon his model boat, while he conducts business.

Jumpy Squirrel is on hand to drop an acorn shell from his tree, which lands upon Bill's model boat, to sink it beside the pier. When Curious George retrieves Bill's model boat from the water, he can no longer get it to float because what he doesn't realize is that water has entered through its port holes, and so Curious George decides to study other entries in order to construct a model boat of his own to substitute for Bill's.

Curious George observes Mr. Quiz's model boat, complete with many gadget devices, and also Mrs. Renkins' model ark, complete with miniature animals, and so Curious George constructs a ferry boat, complete with model cars.

Once Bill returns to discover that he has left open his port holes, so what happens next once Bill may delight to discover his entry in contention for the Annual Model Boat Show prizes, along with Mr. Quiz, Mrs. Renkins, and now Curious George and his "Buoy Wonder?"

Next, Curious George finds himself with another perfect day on his hands in the City, as the Man with the Yellow Hat prepares for his work shift, but steps onto one of Curious George's model automobiles and slides into a wall.

So, the Man with the Yellow Hat asks Curious George to clean up his toys from the living room so that they may spend a pleasant evening together once the Man with the Yellow Hat returns from work.

Curious George, however, gets another idea. If one model car carries the Man with the Yellow Hat by his foot, then standing upon two model cars ought to prove a fun way to skate around the City. Curious George, therefore, stands upon two model cars to skate passed Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund in order to show him what great fun this can be.

Meanwhile, across the City, owners of a sporting goods shoppe consider ways to drum up business and consider hiring a monkey to glide about the sidewalk out front wearing a pair of their roller skates. Well, Curious George just happens to be skating by upon his model cars, and so the woman and man from the sporting goods shoppe lace two pairs of roller skates upon Curious George's legs and arms.

But Curious George decides that he needn't to wear the pair of roller skates as gloves, and so he returns to Building 7 to lace Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund's fore-paws into one skate and his hind-paws into the other, which causes an awkward situation for Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund, who glides through the city, without being able to stop at street corners nor anywhere else until three girls playing jump-rope in the park manage to entangle him and to reverse his direction.

And the same goes for Curious George, who, by now, has learned how to cease accelerating on his roller skates, but attempts to catch up with Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund, who cannot.

Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund glides by Chef Pisghetti's restaurant as Chef Pisghetti serves a plate of spaghetti to Gnocchi, Chef Pisghetti's pet Cat, causing Gnocchi, Chef Pisghetti's pet Cat, to become entangled with Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund and Curious George to become entangled with the plate of spaghetti.

Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund and Gnocchi, Chef Pisghetti's pet Cat glide unto a skating board arena, where boys on skate boards marvel at a dog and a cat getting on well together and also skating well together, as Curious George ensues to attempt to rescue Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund and Gnocchi, Chef Pisghetti's pet Cat.

But what happens next when the roller skate is on the other foot once Gnocchi, Chef Pisghetti's pet Cat, lands into one pair, Hundley the Doorman's Dachshund, maintaining another pair, and Curious George's bringing up the rear of the roller skating train as its "Roller Monkey?"
