Is this a junior high school project?
edlc197010 May 2020
I started to watch this movie, but had to stop after app. 20 mins. It was so bad, that it was pointless to go on watching this crap. The acting sucks, the uniforms are not even close to resembling the real nazi uniforms. the storyline sucks. This is a B-movie and not worth spending 2 mins on. It looks like af junior high school movie project. But even kids can do it better. Avoid

A disaster of a film
michaelmcgarry1 April 2020
One of the worst films I've seen. Wooden acting. Poor characterisation. The Germans were totally unconvincing. An absolute disaster of a film from beginning to end. An insult to anyone who has created a film dedicated to the atrocities of Auschwitz

Waste of time
obiwankanobee4 April 2020
I used to watch quite lot of war and holocaust movies, some are very interesting movies that narrates the agony and sufferings of the innocent human life in the way it was happened . But this was just waste of rubbish. I am not sure how a person spend their money and time to create such balderdash.

It's a waste of all. DON'T waste your time.

When bad B movies are better than this...
bt-3938116 May 2020
Not sure if I ever seen an all around worse "movie". Made it 5 min into it,skipped ahead to the 30 min mark and that lasted 10 seconds then 60 then just closed it altogether.

Shocking! Very poor!
solesoulgc10 April 2020
The acting in this is dreadfull!! I watched 20 minutes but had to give up because it was so bad. The actors are all wooden and unconvincing and it's evident they are not professional. The fact that the Germans were talking in a British accent made it even worse. Even Allo Allo is better than this. The scenery is superimposed and is blatantly obvious. The only good thing about this film was the image on the front of the dvd case.

daisynelson-9712523 July 2020
Unbelievably terrible acting, why would you spend money making this???,the setting and scene is unrealistic and horrendous, I acted better in my year 2 nativity not forgetting the scene and backdrop was a huge improvement and achievement compared to this, annoyed because I splashed out £3 on this, would of been better spent buying a lightbulb for the blind, if I could put lower than 1 star I really would

Dreadful
brian-854663 October 2020
What an insult to the memory of the people who were imprisoned by the Nazis and died in their God awful prisons!

This was based on a true story, that was lost due to the script being dreadful, the direction was non-existent and the acting was as wooden as the huts the prisoners were forced to live in and the set designs.

These people should not be allowed to tell the details of a factual event ever again!

All I can say is the sooner the restaurants and bars are allowed to reopen throughout the world the better, as all those involved in this mess can return to their normal day jobs as waiters and bar tenders, and I include the writer, director and producers in that!

I've really seen some youtubers make films that are way better then this. a person should intend to make this bad of a movie to get such low quality of a work. i think they meant it to be this bad, kind of absurdity so we can have a laugh at it? i dont know.. it confused me.

It's worth watching, it's based on a true story.
mailforplaystorejp8 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie, despite being just the tip of the iceberg, represents the escape of Kazimierz Piechowski, a prisoner that made the most epic escape from the camp, this movie tells a real story.

But people here just hate because they think this is just another movie...

If you are interested on how Piechowski escaped, this movie explains it with the key factors.

Strange
burkkemp27 September 2022
It's a strange movie. The actors are OK. The story itself is not OK. Wrong for example is that when one had to speak german, he speaks english. Several times. That is a huge mistake in the movie. And it looks like that parts are cut out of the movie. Or does the director expect us to understand everything? --> So, I do miss totally what has been done in auschwitz. By purpose??? I do know a lot about auschwitz, I do understand what the smoke and "things" in the air mean. But do young and/or not european people know that too? I am afraid that such is not the reality. So, for whom is this film made??

Seriously? What is this supposed to be?
hel90017 March 2021
Rarely seen such an insanely bad production! It all seems the movie was recorded in somebody's shed with a simple mobile telephone and edited with a sad freeware program. The acting is the worst I have ever seen, the only thing I was missing was the actors holding the sheets with the lines still in their hands. Completely uninspiring, lack of talent. How can somebody seriously release something this bad on a subject so difficult and horrifying? To me this movie seems like a sick joke. Was there nobody who told the producers it wouldn't be a good idea to release a production this crappy?

Simply the worst
This has got to be one of the worst wartime films I've ever seen, the acting was diabolical, the filming terrible, I am surprised the actors let their names be seen in the credits, the British accents were OK but these were coming from the German officers. I have seen B movies before but this didn't even come close to that standard. This is one of those films you seriously need to avoid at any cost.

Truly awful
nick-4936110 December 2020
I'm a great one for making my own mind up, sometimes I've looked at badly rated films I've found to be treasures.

This is not one of those films.

I'll keep this as brief as possible, as I wish the director had done too. Ideally under a minute, but life is full of disappointments. I shan't comment in detail on the acting, other than to echo others who say it's awful. I've seen more emotion in a wooden fence. Actors who can't even manage a German accent? Puh-leease! The straw that broke this camels back was the on-screen text informing the viewer that we were looking at KL Auschwitz in 1944. It's a basic historical fact that Kazimierz Piechowski and his three fellow prisoners escaped in 1942. It took me 20 seconds on Wikipedia to check my memory was correct, and yet a film company taking months to make a film somehow couldn't find the time.

If you can't even be bothered to get something so basic right, it doesn't bode well. I didn't waste time hanging around to look at the uniforms to see if they'd bothered to get them right.

The only silver lining to this cloud is that Piechowski died 3 years ago, so is not around to be disgusted by this unmitigated garbage.

Just Awful!
carstenbrabrand2 April 2022
One of the worst movies I have ever seen. If you know just a little bit about the Auswitch death camp you will experience this movie as plain bad.

The camp feels empty, which it certainly not was in reality. The guards in the camp do not even wear "real" uniforms. If you make a movie about such a horrible time in world history you should at least have respect for it. Here there is no respect at all.

Having rented ($3) this movie is the biggest mistake I have made in a long time

Stay away from this B-movie for god's sake!

Really Bad
yordi-5670910 November 2020
WOW, This was really bad. You would expect that it's impossible to make such a bad film on the Holocaust and concentration camps. Beside that the acting is, to be mild, not good, the film never even try to get your interest Also because it looks like a stage play. You never feel involved and after half an hour or so, you don't mind. If you can't deliver a more decent work on such an important piece of History you should find another profession

The movie was just downright horrible...
paul_haakonsen1 March 2021
Well, I must admit that with a movie title such as "The Escape From Auschwitz" and it being made in 2020, and having a fairly interesting-looking cover, I must admit that I had some expectations to this movie from writer Bradley Coker and director Terry Lee Coker.

But wow, this was utter rubbish. There were so many things wrong with this movie that it just made for a laughable attempt at making a movie.

First of all, the fact that it appears that the movie is shot in someone's cleared out living room was just atrocious. And the horribly added CGI in the background was just laughable at best. It made for such a bad viewing experience that I swore my eyes would begin to bleed.

Then there was the fact that there was no sense of this taking place in an abysmal and God awful place as Auschwitz, the movie-makers just utter managed to avoid making it have that feel what-so-ever. I guess it was the laughable CGI that did the majority of that, and the fact that the movie had just bad locations for filming.

And the fact that everyone in the movie spoke English, wow. Seriously? In 2020? They didn't even bother to opt for the Germans to speak English with a stereotypical movie German accent. Nah, they just spoke plain and proper English. This fully and wholly stole away so much creditability and believability from the movie. A war movie or a Holocaust-based movie need to have authenticity, and that is something that "The Escape from Auschwitz" didn't have. Believe me.

The acting in the movie was lukewarm and shoddy, as if the actors themselves weren't fully committed to the movie project. It showed on the screen and it made for less than believable characters.

What worked somehow in the movie was the costumes; at least the German uniforms looked adequate. However, the clothes that the Jewish prisoners wore was just too clean, and the make-up department had just failed in making it look like the Jewish prisoners were starved, broken, beaten down and miserable. And that was also something that stole away from the authenticity of the movie.

"The Escape from Auschwitz" is without a doubt the worst of World War II and Holocaust-based movies that I have yet stumbled upon. I should have had checked the movie's rating on IMDb before I delved into it and sat down to watch it.

My rating of the 2020 movie "The Escape from Auschwitz" lands on a one out of ten stars. Yeah, this movie is that bad. Avoid it if you have any proper interest in the World War II events, because this movie is not worth the time, money or effort.

We have to tell the world
nogodnomasters15 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is a slow moving film with a dreary gray background. No real character build up. I was bored. He wanted to tell the world about Auschwitz and surprise, the allies knew and didn't seem to care. Keep you fast forward close by.

Bro what
ardm-871708 February 2021
I was expecting a lot from this film but It's visually terrible and has terrible acting.

It would only be acceptable if it were made by a bunch of middle schoolers, like the entire background is green-screen...

You might say that I'm asking for too much but this is standard in hollywood movies

Just stop
thestot-121 September 2021
Please stop allowing un-skilled hacks getting their hands on film equipment.

It comes across as a mockery of the Holocaust, and a deliberate one at that.

Utterly unforgivable garbage thrown together by a team of who knows what.

Please, people, try to accept that you have zero talent, and then move onto something you're capable of.

Too much junk being churned out :(
