I think this was a very strong return to the show. The only downside was that it really, really got on my nerves. Supernatural/possession-related as the reason or simply because the nurse is a massively discriminating b, I don't care. She needs to go, in a horrible manner, and it needs to be shown. Okay, that's a bit extreme if she was just possessed, but I highly doubt it. And unfortunately, I also highly doubt she'll be shown dying a horrible death. It is truly unfortunate.

Hospitals can be evil too...
Johnny_West10 January 2020
Since the 1800s, at least 18 nurses have been convicted of murdering patients. This episode finds evil in the hospital where Mike Colters is recuperating.
As someone who has been in hospitals a few times, it is no joke when you get an indifferent nurse for the night shift. A lot worse if the nurse wants to kill you. There are a couple of twists to this story. The racism issue makes it extra-creepy.
Adding suspense to this story is that Colters cannot communicate to his friends because the nurse has him doped up. There are two perspectives shown as to what Colters is thinking, and what he is actually saying.
Anyone who has ever spent a few nights as a patient in a hospital should find this episode very compelling. When the visiting hours are over, the terror begins.

You won't see it coming! Old school brilliance.

I hate to give too much away in these reviews. Especially when it's something like this that easy to give away too much about the plot line.
Simply put. You'd never expect something like this to be on CBS. It's truly exceeded any expectations and it a actually looked good in the teasers leading up to the premiere. It steals, doesn't copy from the great suspense (Hitchcock, outer limits, twilight zone, xfiles, the exorcist) and still manages to have an originality to it. It's really now the best horror/suspense show on TV.
The minute you think, "oh it's a CBS show about evil". You're going to see as it progresses, it really is all about evil and the battle against it. Your jaw will drop at how quietly they drop the hammer on a situation. Totally unexpected and totally a new classic. I hope this gets a second season!

Outstanding Show and the best episode yet

I can't believe how little this show is because hyped as it is possibly the best thing currently on tv right now
Terrific cast with great chemistry, really well written episodes and directed with tension and suspense. Each episode I think they can't do it again and then they just keep on delivering:
This had me on the edge of my seat throughout and reminded me of the very best episodes of Buffy and the X-Files.
A show unlike any other or tv and my life feels so much richer for having the pleasure of watching it.
The amount crap on tv and streaming sites means classy shows like this may go under the radar. I just hope this finds an audience the way the likes of Buffy and X-Files did in their second seasons.
Superb level of quality throughout from a team who clearly understand how to tell stories and build characters.

Back with a bang

The last episode before the break had left us with a cliffhanger. The next episode aired a few days back & the show is back on it's feet up & running.David is hospitalized & has a series of bizarre experiences. While Kristen & Ben try to track down a criminal.Much of the episode is based in just one hospital room. The makers seemed to have had fun with this idea, using the premise to include a lot of stunning imagery. The direction was top-notch! The episode plays out like a dream sequence with short callbacks to 'reality'.
There is no further mystery for now.A lot of questions from previous episodes were answered. Will be interesting to see where things go from here.

Oh come on

The medical stuff is ridiculous. They could have made it just as scary and get things right. One minute a nurse does a lumbar puncture and the next she checks his temperature by feeling his forehead? The monitor alarms immediately on pulling his iv out? Come on!
Don't listen to the negative reviews.

It's clear to me from reading the majority of the 1-3 star reviews of this episode that the people writing them either don't understand how this show works or just didn't pay any attention. So don't listen to them. This is a great episode, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Enjoy.
One episode ruins the whole series

Evil does not mean no logic.
Whoever wrote the screenplay needs to think straight. Acting vulnerable does not mean acting like no brainer.
I don't even see the point of making this episode. Feel like this is so extra.

I have never reviewed an episode before.

This one was just so bad that I had to. It was hands down the most frustrating and annoying things I have ever watched. Somehow of all the weird things that happened through the series this was the one that seems least logical.
Awful episode.

Stupid

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is excruciating to watch. It is so stupid nothing ever gets resolved. The hospital scenes were bad enough but the rest of it just keeps me repeating "why am I watching this" oh no just saw Leland or Jakes psychiatrist really Now that is hysterical ! Way too much dreams
This episode is the worst one.
vdoman-2232120 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Way, way too much plot wasted in "crazy land". Pointless to have to slog through drug induced fantasy trying to follow the direction of the plot. The series is in a comfortable zone, the actors all are familiar and playing off each other well, the plot has rather interesting sub-story arcs, the antagonist is well established and interesting... why go off the reservation with this "drug vision" crap? Waste of an episode.
Somehow he is not good in problem solving..

Okay so this EP starts off in a hospital. Not sure why they are here. Surgery on DAVID, for what reason???
So someone attacked David??? I guess they have yet to explain what happened here.
David in a hospital bed. And some Priest comes to talk to him.
I did like the joke from the guy with no legs about his toe itching. Altho the laughing between him and Father Whoever that is was creepy.
Haha, nurse squeaky shoes. A Direct Theft from Twilight Zone. Shame Shame on you.
-1 Star from stealing a plot point from a Twilight Zone (original, not any remakes)
David talks to GRACE, GRACE IS AN APPARITION HERE???
Okay so what is this now? David wakes up and the nurse is smothering his roommate with a pillow. War of the Worlds is on the TV. Haha
All in the very LONG OPENING SEQUENCE........
Ben and Kirsten arrive at JJ'S , whoever that is, oh, the original psychiatrist.
And David wakes up and not only is his roommate alive, but he also has legs. What is David tripping on here???
David is really getting slackered to death by this Nurse. I really call BS on what the nurse is getting away with in his treatment. There's not a chance that could go on unless the nurse was the only nurse and /or person around, which she is not.
-1 Star for the sad storyline of this nurse....
I did like how Ben and JJ tracked down the location of David's attacker, but the rest of ep. was crap. 3/10

Moronic.
jamosmonk29 May 2022
The episode itself is moronic, moronic, moronic. However some special effects used to create demon nurses were cool. But a lot of this episode is taken from other shows like twilight zone etc. Maybe they did some homages, who knows. Next episode is on the same disappointment route. Hope it turns around.
