Beware Of Thes Overzealous Texas Moms!
ccthemovieman-123 October 2008
Do you remember the Texas mom whose daughter was beaten out for a cheerleader spot on a local high school team, and then hired a hit man to do away with her rival? She was caught before any dastardly deed was done, and booked on conspiracy to commit murder charges. Well, here we go again.....sort of.

This obsessive Texas mom saw her daughter devastated when her boyfriend broke up the teen girl. He was a nice kid from a great family, and mom had high hopes her daughter would get serious with this boy. Well, as you all know, teen breakups happen by the thousands every day in the world. And, this young couple had only been dating for several months, anyway. However, it was enough of an insult to this doting mom that she hired a hit-man and had the kid killed! Two thugs can right up to the boy's house and shot him while he was beginning to wash his car. What was especially sad about this case was that the boy was a super kid, never in trouble, a great student and about as good a son as you could find.

Like many people in this Latino area, believe in the occult, evil spirits, black magic, etc., abound and that mother, "Eldora Cisnercos" visited curanderas regularly and when the "fortune teller" told her, "no, I don't think your daughter is going to get back with that boy," the mother snapped.

Getting her convicted was not easy, as we see in this episode. Once again, we get cases in which have to be tried multiple times to get any justice. It's amazing how many times this happens, and sometimes justice never prevails. My 90-year-old father loves this show and gets infuriated with the results, commenting how many times people get big sentences for having some drugs on them, but get off Scot-free for murdering people! He has a point.

Meanwhile, City Confidential gives us a good look at the city and superstitious residents of Brownsville, on the southern tip of Texas, a city where Anglos and Hispanics mix so much a visitor might not know what country he or she is in.
