HOOPDREAMS for aspiring singers
flipcritic7 May 2010
The film is a documentary about Mike and Claire Sardina, song revivalists famous for performing the works of Neil Diamond and Patsy Cline respectively. It shows this loving couple and their passion for music and performing. We see the tragedies that befall Mike and Claire's family in ways only life can supply. We see them at their most irresponsible, their most fragile, their bravest, and their best. Does the film have a happy ending? Does any life have a happy ending? All that is to be said is that they lived life on their terms for good or bad. Whether they triumphed or not is up for debate. What is undeniable is that they persevered.

Sham Story

There is so much more to this movie. I would know since Mike Sardina was my biological father. My dad was married 3 times. Claire was his 3rd wife not his second. Also, Maja was my dads first daughter. His second wife was my mom Diane. My dad had a son named Michael and me Angelina. My brother Michael and I used to come to Wisconsin during the summer time. We would going to our dads gigs and support Lightning and thunder by selling their shirts and cds. I was always encouraging my dad to play his own music. There definitely was ugly in the video between my dad and step siblings. I came to Wisconsin to see my father while he was on life support. He was in a Coma and everything was extremely messed up. I have had reservations about my dads cause of death since I heard numerous stories. It really irks me that we his biological kids were not acknowledged in his life story. 🤦‍♀️
