A Young Woman Seeking Revenge
Uriah4317 April 2021
Even though the police are still investigating the murder of her father a year earlier, a young woman by the name of "Yukiko" (Yumiko Nogawa) decides to take matters into her own hands and find his killer. To that effect, knowing that her father had been gambling with loaded dice, she seeks out other gamblers who might have had an association with him in the hope that it would lead her in the right direction. Recognizing that she has absolutely no knowledge of the dangerous Yakuza underworld, she becomes exceeding grateful when a professional gambler by the name of "Ito" (Hideaki Nitani) offers to take her under his wing and mentor her. The problem is-that in spite of Ito's training-she still doesn't fully grasp how dangerous her predicament will soon become. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was an interesting film which had a good plot and a fair amount of intrigue to help it along. Likewise, although not quite as attractive as some other Japanese actresses, Yumiko Nogawa certainly played her part quite well in this particular picture. In any case, I enjoyed this film for the most part and have rated it accordingly. Slightly above average.

nice proto-violent pink film from Nikkatsu
arispull26 July 2020
This proto-violent pink film from Nikatsu stars Yumiko Nogawa as a training female gambler for the yakuza, but she is actually planning to find the person who murdered her father and she is aided by an elder policeman and an ex-convict, with whom she falls in love. The black&white photography is really nice, the erotic scenes are very discreet (actually, there is no nudity) and the movie reaches an effective climax in the violent and tragic finale. Two more films followed, with the same director and the same actress.
