Relaxing and informative

A great program to have in the background while doing craft or a jig puzzle. Short titles provide brief information and it would have been better to have more features of the chocolate process explained.

A relaxing documentary

It is a shame other reviewers have misunderstood this documentary and it certainly does not deserve the low rating it currently has (4.6).

This is not a hard and fast documentary with a booming and serious narrator full of hard and fast facts.

This is a Slow TV documentary. Where we sit in the "drivers" seat and just watch the chocolate being made , right from the inception of the ingredients at the farms where sugar and other items are harvested, loaded, transported and transformed right through to the final product.

No dialogue, just some pleasant music and the occasional facts appearing as subtitles.

If you are looking for a "Mega Structures" type documentary, then this is not it.

Glad I didn't watch this straight from free tv...

Warning: Spoilers
I don't know what I expected when I saw this pop up on tv the other day. I'm just so glad i went and recorded it to watch later with my hubby when he got home, than watch it that night on my own. When we finally watched it together in bed, we saw it went for nearly 3 hours... It was the slowest movie ever. I felt i should've been on drugs to make sense of what was going on and to at least enjoy the special effects of chocolate, sugar and milk being turned over and over... Or how the ingredients all came together from one part of the country to another, then back again. Compared to the UK doco version showed the week before, full of history and excitement, this doco was a total snooze-fest we finally managed to see through till the end across 3 nights. What did i get out of it? That Aussie chocolate is produced in ginormous quantities, but that it lacks the love when made by real people.. Will I remember this the next time I bite into another block of Cadbury's chocolate? Probably not. But I'll still store this knowledge at the back of mind somewhere, and remember that above all else it's profits over anything. At least someone in the electronic music industry made a profit. Would I watch this again? No way.

Worst documentary ever !

This was like watching Tree of Life, but worse ! No talking ! Not even narrating. If Cadbury gave me a million dollars position, I wouldn't take it, it was that boring. Id rather watch paint dry. What were they thinking !?!?! Don't give up your day job. Its actually sad, cause they had a great opportunity to make a inviting and welcoming story about such a great company but they failed ! Big Bloody Time ! Ps my review contains one big spoiler. The actual documentary.

I'm all for documentaries..... but this?

Warning: Spoilers
I'm really pleased I recorded this to watch later, because I fast forwarded through much of it. They held on each process for so long, in one camera angle, I just couldn't sit & watch it intently, while its a still frame fo so long.

I was expecting an informative program, speaking to the processes that were happening, as it was moving on to the next frame & process, but the written info on screen was a far distance apart & lacked any real substance or nami what processwas happening there & then.

I'm not sure what Cadbury was thinking, but this doco represents their company. Had it been my multimillion dollar business, I'd have made them do commentary & possibly a factual story for the viewers entertainment at the very least, considering its titled a 'movie'. Unless of course they had agreed upon the concept. Anyhow, I'd have watched it before it was released to make sure the movie makers were representing my company in the best light. 😔
