Taking Flight
JordanThomasHall19 January 2017
The barometer and humidity gauges inside the stranded astronauts' capsule indicates a big storm is coming. They run to the cave people's village and warn them. Hector (Jack Mullaney) moves Gronk's (Joe E. Ross) family just before lightening strikes the tree they were sitting under. They praise and herald him for knowing the storm was coming and after a coincidence they think he can correctly predict the future. Boss (Cliff Norton) and Clon (Mike Mazurki) approach Hector with ill feelings about how the prehistoric peoples now think Hector is the wisest man in the village. He warns them not to eat berries from the bush they are standing besides and they become instantly itchy as Hector insisted. He is now treated like a king with the cave people. Feeling the people all feel Hector can do anything, Boss insists that he make Shad (Imogene Coca) fly like a bird. Fellow stranded astronaut Mac (Frank Aletter) comes up with the idea of using their remote-controlled Air Force jet pack. Clon and Boss witness Hector flying with the jet pack and discover it is possible because of the pack. They steal it and unsuccessfully attempt to fly, not knowing how to operate it. With Hector's life on the line, they plant the seeds of doubt into Shad's mind.
