Has Potential

Great plot with potential. If this had been produced by someone like, Gregg Hoffman, it would have NAILED it! Although Amateur acting, there were some good scenes. The "Killer" really didn't need a mask, they all knew who he was, it was all for show.

You have your typical office gossip and office fling, but with pretty poor acting. The one main character, Tess, shows high potential of acting and the best was really the last 20 minutes of the movie.

You also have your usual "Don't look the Other Way!, while on the phone" scene and some other pretty predictable scenes.

I was entertained, but if I had to, I would watch all of the Saw movies over 10 times more before watching this one hour long movie again.

Office-based slasher

Warning: Spoilers
DISGRUNTLED is an office-based slasher made on no budget. Saying that it looks quite professional for its genre and is far better made than you'd expect for a movie with a small cast shot on digital video. The story is a simple one about a killer murdering the employees of a small business.

The narrative jumps between gore murders committed in a dingy basement with the normal kind of office interaction that any kind of office worker will immediately recognise. The two main characters have a sweet romantic character arc which is handled surprisingly well and in a sensitive way and the acting is a bit better than you'd expect. The gore is suitably splashy and there's even a little suspense, although the ending is way too abrupt.

Decent

At only an hour long, Disgruntled is a okay little slasher film. Despite the low budget, it is competently made, looks good, and all of the deaths (two of which are quite gory) are done with practical effects. The villain also looks intimidating, his mask (we never see his actual face) being a creepy and featureless baby/doll one that is covered in blood for the entire running time. One major beef I had with the film was the abrupt non-ending, but aside from that, it's a decent watch.

I acquired this film from Amazon, which at the time of this writing, appears to be the only outlet (online or otherwise) selling it.
