I am taken aback at the negative reviews..

These last episodes have been delightful and still maintain murder and mystery..the only negative is George is not in this one..but many of the old familiar faces are and the premise is very smart..I dont want to give spoilers but this is an excellent episode indeed and well worth watching - naysayers notwithstanding..

Nothing we've not seen before

Warning: Spoilers
When Terrence Meyers uncovers a cryptic message from James Pendrick asking for Murdoch's help, the detective is once again plunged into the world of espionage. It's no surprise that Allen Clegg surfaces again and is behind it all. This is all getting very repetitive and boring. Can't we just have a Pendrick episode without Meyers' and Clegg's involvement?

What is going on? From Detective Murdoch we seem to have slipped down the rabbit hole into James Bond territory. This story makes no sense, Please get back to Murdoch solving crimes.

Excellent example of how bad this series could have been (or pray not heading towards). Felt like principles were there only because the story listed them and seemed rushed throughout. Didn't "phone in" the performances but also didn't give audience a sense of any of the inner story or depth. Supporting actors if even there given almost no air time. Episode was drowning with overkill of inventions every plot move. The scavenger hunt premise would have been fine even fun but not with questionable logic or editing choices throughout. I love this series but this episode came from way out in left field. I expected to see a first time writer or director to explain it but I see that the crew is very familiar with MM and professionals so don't understand. If MM had started out with this type of amateur structure and execution it would not have made it past season one.

What did I just watch?

This show has had a few stinkers now and then but this episode takes the cake. It was just jaw-droppingly awful.

The only good thing was we were spared from listening to Julia giggle, maybe for the first time ever.

What a cockamamie plot. I'm SO over Terrance Myers and Allen Clegg, what a tired storyline. I'm also tired of them inserting Julia into stories she shouldn't be a part of. Does she not work anymore? Does she not have patients to take care of? Murdoch and Brackenreid just let a civilian like her tag along on cases for what? It feels disrespectful to the audience when we're supposed to accept these highly intelligent and experienced characters make such stupid decisions? The pacing was terrible, it felt almost slap-sticky. Acting terrible. Real disappointed in this one. Please respect these characters' intelligence.
