An immature and libidinous truck driver (a solid and engaging performance by James Schneider) reminisces about his various sexual exploits on the road and bemoans the lack of emotional fulfillment found in countless one-night stands. He discusses the difficulty of hooking up with diner waitresses (you have do just what you think with them on their time and may have to wait nearly nine hours before you even get your chance) and recalls an especially unfortunate hostile encounter with a diner counterman who was the cousin of a gal he was planning to have sex with. Director Jeff DeGrand and writer Schneider, who also co-composed the neatly eclectic score, nicely capture the sense of unrest and loneliness that's an intrinsic component of the trucker's rootless nomadic lifestyle. Schneider does fine work in the lead, with nifty support from Betsy Zajko as an alluring waitress, Ron Orbach as Sally's cousin, and Lindsay Katai as a truck lady. Kudos are also in order for DeGrand's crisp cinematography. The final shot is a total bawdy hoot. A funny and enjoyable little romp.
