“Shōgun” might be creating some drama at the Emmys.
Multiple industry insiders tell Variety that FX, the heavyweight contender in the Primetime Emmy race for outstanding limited or anthology series, is considering a bold move: shifting its submission for “Shōgun” to the drama series categories this year.
This strategic repositioning hints at the likely return of the protagonist, Lord Yoshii Toranaga (played by Hiroyuki Sanada). Created by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, the historical epic, celebrated for its intricate storytelling and marvelous world-building achievements, will now vie for accolades against heavy hitters like Netflix’s concluding saga “The Crown,” Apple’s intense office drama “The Morning Show,” and Prime Video’s gripping action video game adaptation “Fallout.”
FX declined to comment.
“Shōgun” brings to life James Clavell’s 1975 novel set in 1600 Japan, a period dominated by daimyōs and samurais. The narrative centers on the fateful encounter between the cunning English navigator John Blackthorne,...

We are once again seeing more closures of gaming companies under the Xbox company umbrella, with two more studios set for cuts and closures. However, many fans feel that this may be unfair, expressing their anger and dismay towards one man in particular, Phil Spencer. Social media has been a hurricane of people berating and defending this dividing figure but is all the hate really warranted?
More Closures Planned at Xbox Even After Recent Closures Arkane and Tango Gameworks are the latest two companies to be shut down by Xbox
[It has become commonplace as of late for news of closures at massive gaming companies and unfortunately, the latest victims of these closures are Tango Gameworks, the company that helped develop the Evil Within series, and Arkane the company behind Redfall. These two companies had promising plans for the rest of 2024, with Arkane planning more Dlc for Redfall and, of course, having a hand in the development of the new Marvel Blade game.

This has of course left many fans upset and angry at this news, with many of them directing their anger at CEO Phil Spencer, as the court of public opinion is very much that he has been a divisive figure in these recent closures,...

Democratic political consultants have some advice if you’d prefer not to have companies track your every move and sell that data to campaigns: avoid mobile games like Candy Crush.
“Political campaigns are a perfect microcosm of the data economy,” Raffi Krikorian, the host of the Technically Optimistic podcast tells Rolling Stone. “You have data brokers who are gonna sell you information, so I can create a model of who I should persuade and turn out and an election. How does that data flow? Where did the data brokers get all this information?...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has lost most of its charm after Avengers: Endgame. After most of the Og characters’ story concluded following The Infinity Saga, the Kevin Feige vehicle took a different approach for The Multiverse Saga. Sadly, it did more bad than good. The introduction of the excessive amount of Disney+ Marvel shows and movies brought the MCU to its lowest.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe
Fortunately, it looks like Marvel Studios has listened to its fans and realized their mistake as the latest comments by Kevin Feige hint at a brighter future for the superhero universe. The MCU boss promised his fans that he would surely return with a bang. He assured that the haters would be proven wrong and the fans would once again get back their glorious Marvel days.

Without Androids 17 and 18, Cell would’ve remained that ugly creature that morphed out of that sticky cocoon in Dragon Ball Z. Maybe the Z fighters could have a chance against Dr. Gero’s evil plans. Both Androids had a pivotal role to play in the Db universe; that said, their depiction in any media franchise should catch the public eye.
In a way, it actually did in Sparking! Zero. But not in the way the developers were expecting it. The latest trailer dubbed ‘Master vs. Apprentice’ gave a glimpse of Android siblings in an alternate timeline where they successfully manage to attain the goal they were always meant to, wreak havoc on humanity.

The MCU has several projects lined up for release in the coming years, including the ‘Blade’ reboot. This reboot aims to introduce the iconic vampire hunter to the MCU.
Mahershala Ali proposed the project and will star as the titular character. Initially planned for a 2023 release, the movie has been delayed to 2025 (so far) due to Ali’s dissatisfaction with the script.
The movie went through a rough development phase, with the story changing several times and Mahershala nearly quitting at one stage. Some actors, like Aaron Pierre, also dropped out for reasons not disclosed. Recent reports suggest the movie’s plot has been simplified, focusing solely on Blade hunting vampires, and filming is set to begin in Mexico. According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, who has a solid track record, Wesley Snipes is rumored to make a comeback in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga, appearing in multiple undisclosed projects.

There is a lot of anticipation for Ninja Theory’s upcoming game, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, and the process of its making is one of the main reasons behind so much anticipation. The lengths that Ninja Theory went to for this game as well as its predecessor is quite impressive. 2017’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was a good place to start as Ninja Theory has now identified the flaws and made sure that they worked on those elements for the second game.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
One of these things is the second game’s run time. Dom Matthews, studio head at Ninja Theory, explained that the game would have a shorter narrative as they would like to focus on things that “they care about” and hope players would feel the same. When it was announced that the game would have a runtime of roughly 9 hours, there was...

Game preservation is slowly becoming a huge issue in the games industry. Not only are several games infested with DRM check-ins, rendering them unplayable without an internet connection, but many physical games ship with an online installer on the disc, not the full build of the game.
However, an even more concerning trend surrounding physical games, or rather the lack of them, has been popping up in recent years. Games like Alan Wake 2 and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name forewent physical releases entirely, releasing in a digital-only format. Ninja Theory’s upcoming Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 follows the trend, and here’s why it shouldn’t.
Why Is Ninja Theory Not Releasing Hellblade 2 Physically? Hellblade 2 will be released May 21 on PC and Xbox Series S/X.

The argument about a video game’s frame rate is age-old. Gamers have been discussing and talking about how a game runs on a particular system for a long time now. Ever since the arrival of the new consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X 30 Fps have become rarities. Yet the upcoming game Hellblade 2 would be stuck in 30 Fps mode.
The developers have talked in great detail about why this game would run like this. On the other hand, 2015’s hit open-world role-playing game Fallout 4 is soon getting a 60 Fps mode and a bunch of other next-gen exclusive features. This has raised a great question amongst gamers: what matters more, gameplay or cinematic visuals?

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, developer Ninja Theory’s sequel to 2017’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, is officially less than a month from release. The upcoming title boasts incredibly lifelike graphics, a new Icelandic setting, a matured Senua, and most importantly, a hard-hitting story.
The studio has previously spoken about dialing up the immersion for the sequel, with the story being a key part of the process. However, the January 2024 Xbox Developer_Direct revealed that it’ll have an 8-hour runtime and cost $50. After 7 years in development, many expected a longer story, but Ninja Theory head Dom Matthews stands by the studio’s decision.

The MCU has a lineup of projects slated for release in 2024, 2025, and beyond. While several movies are currently in development and affected by strikes, none are as highly anticipated as ‘Avengers 5’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’ These films are expected to uphold the MCU’s tradition of grand crossovers.
Similar to ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame,’ these two movies will be released a year apart. However, unlike the previous films, they will not be filmed consecutively. Instead, they will be developed by separate teams of writers and directors.
Although details about both movies are scarce, reliable insider Jeff Sneider reports that ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ will be an extensive 5-hour film divided into two parts. This information was shared in his InSneider newsletter.
Secret Wars is basically shaping up to be “a giant five-hour movie with a year-long intermission.
Kang the Conqueror was initially poised to succeed Thanos as the primary antagonist of the Multiverse Saga.

The Western is one of the many genres that have endured in the vast canon of American film. And with Horizon: An American Saga set for release soon, all eyes will be on Kevin Costner to prove that the Western is still as appealing as it ever was.
It would not be incorrect, of course, to suggest that Costner’s forthcoming passion project is pushing the boundaries of his line of work. The Western epic is a big risk for the California-born actor, given how much of his own money went into financing the flick, which will be released in two parts.
Starring Sam Worthington, Costner, and Sienna Miller, among others, the film is set during the American Civil War.
Kevin Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga
Even though the backdrop and main idea of Horizon: An American Saga is fairly well-known, Costner might still score a career-high with this film.

Xbox Series console exclusive Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will be launching later this year. Fans of these consoles are pretty enthused about this upcoming game. There’s without a doubt a very good reason for them to be excited about it. The biggest one is the most obvious one: Hellblade 2. It’s a sequel to one of the best games that launched on the last generation of consoles.
The second reason is that it is the first massive exclusive title that will be launching for the Xbox console in months. The last big exclusive title that launched on this platform was Starfield, a game that launched to a polarizing response. But now a new development suggests that fans might want to play Hellblade 2 on PC rather than Xbox consoles.

Kevin Costner is hoping a few years from now, moviegoers will have the opportunity to binge four Horizon movies in theaters.
“Maybe a year and a half, two years from now, they will come (to theaters) for 12 hours,” he told the assembled crowd of theater owners Tuesday at CinemaCon, where he teased his two-part Horizon films.
So far, only two of his planned four films have been made, he acknowledged, but he has two more scripts ready to go, should the risky film project he helped finance be successful.
“When I think about the promise of America, there was a promise out here, if you could go. If you were tough enough, if you were mean enough, if you were resourceful enough, if you were lucky enough, you could take what you wanted in America,” Costner said of the appeal of the American West. “That promise meant that we step...

MCU’s ‘Echo’ was a significant show for many reasons. First, it was the first TV-ma show released on the platform as a part of the MCU, it was also the first show to release under the ‘Marvel Spotlight’ banner, and the first to release on Hulu simultaneously. The show also changed the MCU timeline canonizing Netflix’s Defenders Saga.
While plenty of fans expected the show to fail since Echo is in large part, a lesser and not exactly popular character in the comics, it was a breath of fresh air. Fans were surprised both by the action and by Cox’s performance, and needles to say, we can expect to see more of Echo in the future, considering that the show, through the post-credits scene, directly led to the events of the upcoming ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’

Kang the Conqueror was positioned to be the next great villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in the same way Thanos was for the Infinity Saga. However, in the wake of Jonathan Majors getting fired, the idea has been up in the air, as fans try to speculate who would be the next villain in the MCU.
Ravonna Renslayer, in Loki Season 1
While a slew of fans want Majors replaced, and another section of the fandom wants a new villain to take over from Kang altogether, a theory has come out to put Ravonna Renslayer at the center of this conversation, pushing for her to become the next big bad in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Although the Avengers hold the spotlight as the MCU’s primary superhero team, they’re not alone. Alongside them, we have the Eternals, Guardians of the Galaxy, and upcoming projects are going to introduce teams like Thunderbolts, Young Avengers, and the X-Men. Marvel Comics boasts numerous other superhero teams, sparking curiosity among fans about potential expansions to lesser-known teams, notably Alpha Flight.
However, according to Alex Perez, a trusted source for MCU rumors and leaks, Marvel Studios is considering two different comic book teams for incorporation, with Alpha Flight not among them, unfortunately.
There have been discussions about MI13 being developed, as well as Agents of Atlas.
The Agents of Atlas, a superhero group, first appeared in the comic ‘What If?’ #9 in 1978 before returning in their own series in 2006. This diverse team comprises characters from different backgrounds and regions, including notable members like Jimmy Woo, Namora (cousin of Namor), Gorilla-Man,...

Remedy’s Alan Walk 2 which was released last year turned out to be a huge commercial success for the studio. Remedy’s latest sequel received positive reviews from critics and also got nominated for several Game of the Year awards.
A still from Alan Wake 2
Most of the game’s success had to do with its unique gameplay mechanics. Due to such elements, players are sure to remember Saga Anderson’s famous Case Board. Saga’s Case Board is now an integral part of the gameplay and players find it useful in tracking their progress through the game. However, this was not always the case so with the Case Board.
Alan Wake 2’s original Case Board was reworked
During the Gdc 2024 panel discussion centered around “Making Linear Story Playable: The Narrative Design of Alan Wake 2”, the developers threw some interesting details about the changes made in the game during the development phase.

Phase 4 marked the start of the Multiversal Saga, aiming to highlight the significant threat posed by Kang the Conqueror and impart lessons to the Avengers about the risks of meddling with time and universes. ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ delved into this theme within the Quantum realm, which gained further importance in ‘Loki’ Season 2.
However, with ‘Ant-Man’ failing to meet expectations and Jonathan Majors facing backlash due to the assault verdict, speculation suggests that the MCU will pivot towards a different villain and more grounded narratives.
According to Alex Perez, a well-known scooper and leaker, Marvel is still figuring out how to handle the Multiverse. We can anticipate more street-level stories, except for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ as disclosed during the Discord Q&a session.
Right now, Marvel is reassessing how to handle the Multiverse, which is why they’re focusing on street-level stories for the time being, with the sole exception of Deadpool & Wolverine.

Different, we expect this Star Wars show to be. After the release of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,’ the superhero community was shocked by allegations against Jonathan Majors, known for his roles as Victor Timely in ‘Loki’ Season 1 and as Kang the Conqueror in ‘Quantumania,’ a significant villain in the Multiversal Saga.
Majors’ career took a hit following his arrest in March 2023 over allegations of assaulting a woman believed to be his girlfriend. He faced job losses from various projects, resignation from his management and PR team, and removal from several commercials featuring him.
Despite maintaining his innocence, Majors faced public scrutiny, exacerbated by the release of text messages between him and the alleged victim by his legal team.
In December, after the guilty verdict, Disney terminated its contract with Majors, leading to various changes within the franchise. With his departure, ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’ is no longer titled as such, and there are rumors of finding a replacement for Majors.

In the midst of a falling MCU, Marvel Studios has some bold decisions to make and storylines to revamp if it wants to stay relevant. Seeing the underwhelming responses it’s last year’s projects received, with The Marvels being a box office bomb, Marvel fans have been understandably worried about the superhero realm’s future.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)
This worry and concern is more evident since the studio is rebooting one of the most fan-favorite Marvel characters of recent years, Daredevil. Starring Charlie Cox as the underdog, his inclusion in the MCU is exciting enough but diehard fans have been hoping Marvel does not mess it up as it did with Captain Marvel in The Marvels or many others before her. Yet if the recent interview with Marvel’s head of streaming is true, Kevin Feige has a trump card up his sleeve that might just save the MCU.

The release of the sequel to the iconic sci-fi film Dune by director Denis Villeneuve brought immense joy to sci-fi enthusiasts. However, amidst their delight, a surprising realization dawned upon them as they delved into the intricate layers of Dune‘s narrative.
Comparing it to another beloved sci-fi franchise, Star Wars, fans couldn’t help but notice striking parallels and inspirations drawn by the latter from the former.

Jonathan Majors debuted in the MCU as Victor Timely back in 2021, and then as Kang the Conqueror in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ in 2023 in what was the first movie of Phase 5, also known as the beginning of the Multiverse Saga. ‘Quantumania’ wasn’t exactly successful, adding insult to injury, soon after the release of the blockbuster movie, the actor behind the villain who was supposed to mark the next few phases of the MCU was arrested.
According to the charges, Majors allegedly struck the alleged victim ‘about the face with an open hand, causing substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear.’ He also allegedly grabbed her hand and neck, causing bruising on the neck and a broken finger. And while his lawyers quickly provided evidence that such a thing never took place, the case was far from over, and Majors was eventually found guilty and fired by Disney.

Vin Diesel’s been laying low in recent months following a bit of a double whammy. In May, Fast X Part 1 hit theaters to a collective shrug, with the film drastically underperforming at the box office, “only” making $714 million worldwide. While that sounds like a lot of money, it was under the benchmark the movie needed to break even for Universal. Given all the behind-the-scenes drama, many wondered what the supposed final Fast movie would be, especially with another spin-off announced for Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs, and the big Fast X baddie, Jason Momoa’s Reyes. The second big blow for Diesel came in December when a former assistant accused him of sexual battery during the making of Fast Five, an accusation Diesel “categorically denied.”

The Fast and Furious franchise has featured some pretty big stars since the early days of the street racing crew stealing TV/Vcr combos. Check out the later entries and you’ll see Kurt Russell, Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren, and plenty of others. But one action favorite who won’t be getting behind the wheel is Jean-Claude Van Damme, who claims that he hit a big, bad, bald roadblock when approached about joining the Fast and Furious franchise.
In a profile by The Telegraph, Jean-Claude Van Damme claimed that he could have once been a part of the insanity of this series if for Vin Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto in the Fast and Furious franchise. “They want me in Fast and Furious… But Vin Diesel said, ‘No, I don’t want him.’” Shot down by the dude from Pitch Black and The Pacifier! If this is true – and it...
