I like this show but the characters are irritating
juliematthews1-127 May 2021
I don't understand why, when time is of the essence, the characters have to have these slow, confused, out of breath conversations where they can't seem to understand anything. It's so frustrating and anxiety-inducing.

Spit it out already!!! Ugh.

Cancelled - Non commital ok episode that didn't give much, and it's finished
Rob-O-Cop1 June 2021
Updated. The show has been cancelled. All this for nothing. I liked the show. Sorry we're not going to see if they could take it somewhere special.

There were some really good episodes in the run.

Continuing with not giving much forward momentum and keeping their cards close to their chest, and the possibility they're bluffing and have no great vision for this show.

The not knowing is keeping me hooked but it'll only last so long. At some point I'm going to want to get some insight. Possibly that's part of the plan, the story. The unknowable nature of alien technology.

Like others it was a bit unsatisfying that this was the last episode of the season, and possibly the whole series if it doesn't get renewed for next year.

Its ok not great
This felt like it was made 20-30 years ago where they would have weak general plot and very slow episodes. Its ok if you are bored and dont have anything better to do. But its nowhere near more interesting series these days. The finale gets 3 cause it didnt feel like a finale and was a bad episode.

Anyone that thinks Debris is like Fringe or XFiles...
rsvp32125 May 2021
...*hasn't seen Fringe or XFiles!*

Since I'm of the opinion that there can't be too much sci fi series to watch, I always give a very generous opportunity for a new series to get its groove. Debris had an intriguing premise that could have projected it into a level of greatness.

Sadly, Debris is an epic fail. The sci fi plot was quickly shelved into the background, while the writers tried to make soap feelings and characters the driving force. Borrrrr-ing! The two main characters are bad actors, have no chemistry with each other, are extremely unlikeable, and the audience is left not even caring enough about them to remember their names!

I gave the season a fair chance, but it's quite unwatchable by the end of this episode. Because the premise is still intriguing, I suggest that they reboot this series; fire the writers, fire the actors, fire the directors, and start all over.

Until that happens, there is no redemption for Debris.

Hope to see a next season

But I am afraid that that is not going to be..the case. This show is full of real people in a fascinating story. It will follow Flash Forward, Caprica, Firefly...etc. Etc..Goodbye dear ones.. Edit: Thank you all for the cancelation. Zombie series go on for ever. Another promising show ended.

Excellent and exciting season ending episode
niloniak26 May 2021
This is easily the best show on TV for science fiction fans and people who like a good mysterious TV.

The series started off slow and every episode has built to a mind blowing conclusion!

The time raced by at break-neck speed as threads laid in the first episodes -who is the head of Influx, what really happened to Finola's dad, what about those injections, and MORE - paid off!

The episode was creepy and mysterious in the tradition of episodic SciFi and included some of the most disturbing non violent horror on TV.

For every answer given, we need at least one more. There seem to be very few "good" characters with clean motivations; instead they are complex and difficult.

The cast was amazing with Jonathan Tucker and Scroobius Pip as the subtle standouts. Start at Ep1 and go all the way to this!

Writers should hang their heads in shame

Having watched the series from the start, it's hard not to feel duped by this incredibly weak and disjointed 'ending'.

Another solid episode - but we need season 2
jxbrowning27 May 2021
Not sure why people are down on this episode. Continues the solid sci-fi feel and the performances are really excellent. A few good surprises and more interesting questions.

The angst comes from no confirmed season 2. The writers definitely have more stories to present. I hope we get the opportunity to see Debris fully play out.

To renew or not to renew? The latter!
hughevan25 May 2021
Debris was promising at the beginning but unfortunately it rapidly went downhill. I kept hoping the show turn around. What a shame that I wasted 13 episodes. I don't expect to see this show return.

Underwhelming
vdoman-2232126 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Wasted potential... I could easily understand if this season is one-n-done. I love high concept SyFi; Altered Carbon, The Expanse, Devs, even Tales from the Loop are all shows I enjoyed... but this fell flat. The main characters had zero chemistry, mostly because they were at odds all the time. I found the woman's thick accent often hard to understand. There wasn't one character that I liked, symbolized with, or cared about at all. The writing was so serious that there was no room for even a slight amount of humor as many of the better shows can seem to slip in every now and then. The show could have benefited from John Noble much earlier. If a second season airs, I won't bother to watch.

Painfully Bad
stevevandermeer26 May 2021
Oh my. What a mess. I'm a sucker for sci-fi, alternate worlds shows. Unfortunately, so many of them simply can't sustain a coherent storyline week after week. Lost had a good run. Fringe, kind of went off the rails well before the end. Now Debris. It's never made a lot of sense, and I've had a hard time trying to care about any of the characters. But, we hang on, hoping against hope that somehow the show runners will pull it all together and we will be rewarded with the genius of their storytelling. Alas, it was not to be. Just a series of boring events, with little effort to link them together, ending in a whimper. Not excited by whatever season 2 may bring.

so they were the bad guys
angelmougios-6656410 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I am going to be brief.

The end of the season before the cancellation showed us that the protagonists are rooting against the world and prefer to work with the government that has lied to them the whole season..Great ideas fellas.. instead of working on the support of free people as many great series did you ended up having them support the liars and murderers... This series is bad on script, imaginative ideas and its painfully slow having the actors pant and talk slowly while doing it so the empty spaces without anything to say gets filled. Its just a situational episode per episode series where they find a new debris that does something different every time and they have almost no main plot. Well to say it better it was so bad that it got cancelled and didn't have the chance to show any main plot... don't watch.
