A great addition to the Star Wars universe

Warning: Spoilers
This was a fantastic episode that felt like a good combination between Clone Wars and Rebels. It explained what happened to Gregor and we finally get to see the first phase of Stormtroopers. The action was great and, as always, it had lots of heart. The ending was perfect and I can't wait to see how they wrap up the series. It definitely plays a larger role in the lore of the universe, and feels like a solid episode of the show.

Warning: Spoilers
The tone has certainly shifted for this episode! We open to an unknown clone being chased by Corellian Hounds or some close resemblance to the Nexus we have seen before and when those are let lose we can see this may have been another clone that is finally realising what is right in the universe.

Jump to the Havoc Marauder and our favorite clone captain is back in contact with the team. Providing the Co-ordinates for the unknown 'Reg@ on Daro Root a planet that hasn't been visited before by the team or Star Wars Canon. The loyalty that Echo has to Rex is commendable in making sure this mission goes ahead. Never thought i'd see the day when an LAAT gunship is in the hands of the newly formed Empire, even through out TCW there were new gunships coming into commission and just feels wrong to see imperial generals commanding these ships back on Kamino.

Landing on the planet of the beacon sent by the unknown trooper we find a large very typically designed Empire base with a strong military presence with new Commando squads and i hope this to be the extraction of Gregor to meet up with Rex for the Rebels episodes! And it turns out to the the clone that we all thought might have died in a factory explosion to help Gascon and his droids to escape but returned to Rebels! 1 line clears up the story of his sacrifice on Seelos. Blasters have certainly changed during the course of this series where a clone used to take one shot and die but now 2 or 3 seem to be fine for a character with plot armour to survive.

With a great chase and rescue seeming inevitable this may have been to good to be true with the way that the series has always got the team out but Hunter missing the extraction and being capture only knows what will happen. With the experiments on Crosshairs going well and another 99 batch in the hands of the empire could he be turned or sent for the other side that the Emperor had brewing else where?

This episode delivered on everything and it left me wanting more at the end! It advances the story in a compelling way and I can't wait to see where it goes next. We got some much needed focus on a beloved character, and everyone was top notch in this episode!

Agree with most of the reviews- 4 episodes out of the 14, that ARE MEANIFUL

Did anyone notice the March of the Empire and Empire themed musical score in the background! AWESOME... This one was one of the best, if NOT the best. The only gripe would be if they would have called out some of the CLONE COMMANDO'S name's. And I don't mean anyone from OMEGA or DELTA squad's, those were Kal Skirata's boys (Omega) and Walon Vau's boys (Delta). If you want more information read the Star Wars Republic Commando's by Karen Traviss. I know a side note, but you will be happy to read those 4 books.

Back to Bad Batch, the introduction of the TK-units (see SW: ANH), is the beginning of the stormtroopers, and for Gregor/Tech and Hunter to say, they basically 'suck' is classic.

As we all know most stormtroopers CAN'T shoot save their lives. I CANNOT wait for the next episode to show Crosshair and Hunter square-off, I will say this AGAIN, someone from the BAD BATCH, will die. It may be Hunter after this episode.

To include mostly clones on this episode and the ruse on Kamino, this is shaping up to be an exciting final 2 episodes. Please have a 'rebellion' on Kamino!

Amazing
diego-galvan30 July 2021
One of, if not my favourite episode so far, exactly what the Bad Batch should be, plenty of action, easter eggs/references, and a story that pieces the transition between episode 3 and 4 perfectly.

After the first episode of S1, we get what Star Wars is famous for; history & lore. The first look of the clones' replacements. The rise of the Stormtroopers. Great episode with an interesting ending.

I loved this episode. The tone and setting and opening scene make it feel very separated from the other episodes. It almost felt like a different show. Seeing the early stormtroopers was really cool and the return of Gregor was a huge surprise but a welcome one!

I also loved all of the music callbacks. This whole episode seriously felt very in line with the original Star Wars trilogy era that I personally love exploring. Kudos to the writers for leaving the episode on a reasonably edgy cliffhanger too.

Very good.

Loved it. Further illustration of the move to stormtroopers and some excellent fighterpilot action. Really interesting to think about what happened to the cloners.

HUNTER!!!

Warning: Spoilers
Well boys, looks like Gregor is back. He was an underrated fella, I dig his personality and bravery for his "heroic death". I do appreciate that we were not getting him in the way of the story. And man, that ending! Apparently, we're entering the era of replacements - the Clone Troopers. Overall, a fun adventure with action-packed stuff.

8/10.

War-Mantle

Warning: Spoilers
This was a solid episode. Unlike the past few episodes, this episode was full of action. Basically the entire second half of the episode had non-stop action. The Bad Batch infiltrated an Imperial base that was holding a reg who tried to run away because he got fed up with what the Empire has been doing. That reg ended up being Rex's old friend from The Clone Wars, Gregor. They tried to escape the base and succeeded, but at the cost of leaving Hunter behind. The episode stopped there leaving us on a cliffhanger for the next episode. We also got to see that the Empire has just recently started using people as soldiers instead of clones. I though that was an interesting twist and am looking forward to see if they show what actually happened to the clones instead of just going by what Rex told us in Rebels.

If the final two episodes are a continuation of this episode, they should be amazing. I can't wait!

Passing on the Mantle
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic25 May 2022
This is a very good episode as we see Rex asking the Bad Batch to rescue his friend Gregor, the clone we met in Clone Wars, who has rebelled against his new Empire bosses and has been imprisoned.

The story is a simple rescue mission adventure and is very enjoyable. It has added depth of showing the transition of clones being replaced by early Imperial Stormtroopers.

The way the music foreshadows music from the movies is really cool and helps to add to the feeling of transition.

The animation is beautiful again and there is some good action including the especially cool dogfights.

Crosshair again facing his old comrades and the cliffhanger ending are powerful additions.

A great set up for the next episode.

My rating: 8.5/10.

Aside from the first episode and the one where Crosshair got his star destroyer facial, this show has been a big fat bag of ass. Major improvement.

A really good episode, one where the plot is moved forward mightilly. I do hope the next two episode deliver equally well. This show is really great especially when their focus is on the main plot, it is clear to me they have an objective they have the story laid out in full just waiting to be shown to us in these action packed episodes.
