Darkly comical n ended like an episode from Tales from the Crypt, in a good way though.

I was laughing my guts out during the climax.

At times, this episode looked a bit far fetched but it was engrossing.

They shud have at least shown some nudity.

What a waste!
neil-aanjana1626 June 2021
With an actor like Menon and a story with potential this episode could have been so so much better. I was supremely disappointed with the execution of the story. In fact I am shell shocked that Mr Menon went ahead with this kind of writing and editing. Bahrupiya is worst of the four not so outstanding episodes. Nothing added up, no character buildup, absurd story progression. Also, the make up used very obsolete and reminds me of Ramsay bros era. It was a sheer waste of all good things.

An OKAY Episode.

I think this episode will be loved by them who don't know the original story & haven't seen Vinci Da. That's why I didn't like it much. Because writer Siraj Ahmed has changed the story a bit but Srijit Mukherji executed it exactly like Vinci Da. Also I think some scenes were unnecessary.

Kay Kay Menon is as always acted brilliantly specially in the climax. Best thing of this episode is its Cinematography & of course make-up.

Finally 'Bahrupiya' is just an OKAY episode for those who already know the original story & had watched Vinci Da before.

Available on Netflix.

Not a perfect film, but an interesting watch for sure.

Bahrupiya is the story of a man who feels rejected by the society and is of the firm belief that God has no interest in providing any kind of help to people, in fact all the God's enjoy watching human's go through all the hardships of life. 'God Vs Evil', and 'with great power comes great responsibility' are the themes integrated into the story. Kay Kay Menon, the man at the centre of all the action is as always amazing. The concept of telling stories in the form of an anthology initiated by Netflix, deserves to be praised not just for the unique stories that they offer but also for exposing the current generation to some of the finest acting talents of our country. Dibyendu as the Baba has done a pretty good job, he comes across as mysterious as well as scary. The scenes between Kay Kay Menon and Dibyendu Bhattacharya are really good. I wish they had not kept so many sex scenes in the film, I just didn't see the point of having them in the story. Watching 'Bahrupiya' with your family won't be easy because of all those scenes.

Vinci Da 2.0
sahil-masrur78627 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Except for the name and the protagonist's obstinacy to expose the religious guru, nothing is similar to the story. Instead Mukherji reuses his plot from one of his earlier films Vinci Da. Could be said the worst of the four, nothing truly holds this one. Not even KK Menon's acting. Unnecessary sex scenes and revenge plot makes it even dragging. Stay away from this one.

What an Actor..!
shanz-245833 August 2021
If acting is an art so KK Menon is the artist Just phenominal as it's treat to watch such a versatile actor but the story was too averaged as it could be more better.

A misfire
SleepingMorpheus26 June 2021
Kay Kay Menon is such a good actor, and this was such a nice concept. It could have been brilliant. But what we got was a slow and tedious adaptation. Amateurish writing with uneven character buildup, lack of tension building. It was a misfire.
