enough is enough
furo-110 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As was mentioned by someone else in a review of previous episode, addition of Veronika is ruining otherwise great show. Her negative actions and lack of empathy are building up with each next episode and with this one it reached its peak. Firing 148 employees? Blackmailing Max to co-sign on this decision? Forcing Iggy to see patients despite the trauma he suffered. It's ridiculous. There's nothing positive or feel-good about this show anymore. Constant drama and negativity. It went downhill after the first episode of season 4. There's need to be balance. I've had enough. Not watching this show anymore. Farewell.

Best NA Episode So Far!!
christian9414 November 2023
The premise of the entanglement of tech and medicine, life with computers, robots, databaaea and drug prescriptionsnia interesting enough.

The threat of randsom, the conflict and prize paid to potentially save patients is well played until the end of the episode with a heart-wrenching punchline.

The most important part of the episode is when Iggy confronts a psych patient who had Aderal overdose, psychosis and loss of brain function and must confront his new self. Iggy's response is so poigant, philosphical and practical. Be present now and accept yourself. Mourn your past if ypu have to but be there and grateful. Brilliant!!

Best episode so far in many accounts and definetely best scene in 4 years with delectable dialogue.

Seems about right

Warning: Spoilers
Now that Max has all but bankrupted the hospital. And they are forced (by Max's leftist negligence) to lay off 148 staff members to save the other 1000 staff members and the lives of countless patients by keeping the hospital open. Max chooses to save his friends; Bloom, the drug addict ED doctor who committed fraud so she could work with her girlfriend and whose personal life constantly interferes with her treatment of patients; Floyd, the only choice that makes sense as he is a good doctor, sure, his weird personal relationships are mind boggling; Iggy, the narcissist. The ABSOLUTE WORST psychiatrist, husband, father EVER. He has more mental illness than all his former patients combined. You know Iggy, the DOCTOR WHO WONT SEE PATIENTS! How are any of these people more worthy of being saved than Agnes? Obviously they aren't, But Max has power and will use it to save his friends and cronies so he can ultimately keep that power. Poor Helen, she can do better.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode made me so mad that I decided to stop watching the show. So Max decided to save his friends despite having to fire people more deserving to stay? And he somehow thinks this is ok?? Don't get me wrong, I like Bloom, Floyd and Iggy but they deserved to be fired much more than Agnes, Casey or Baptiste. Bloom has made so many bad decisions and has a lot of problems, Iggy is not even capable of seeing patients anymore. I'm so angry. They are just getting rid of characters who get in the way of Max's favorites.

Veronica is not the problem anymore. Also, she's such a bad "villain". I used to watch this show because it made me feel good. Now it just makes me feel angry.

Do better Max
dissipatedfog13 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm liberal, I agree with most of Max's ideas even though the execution of those ideas is sometimes lousy. But where was his head in this one?

The way he interacts with Dr. Fuentes about the ransom shows how he just expects things to work out so he doesn't pay attention to details. I knew she was only promising to ask the HCC for the money, but he assumed that she'd promised to fix it because that's what he wanted to hear so he wasn't really listening, a Max Goodwin special.

Then his fix for the layoffs? This man talks about being an ally but decides to save the jobs of his mostly white friends, all of whom have high salaries and instead chooses to lay off mostly people of color who are paid less than the people whose jobs were saved. Lower salaries mean more staff need to be laid off to balance the budget. In addition to the race and class issues, after hearing that the departments were top heavy Max throws the ratio even further out of balance by keeping more of his department directors and getting rid of some support staff. He did get lay off 2 high-salary directors, both of them people of color. I don't know if I can forgive him for doing that to Dr. Kao.
