Dark and glittery
awerling11 November 2022
What a captivating, clever, well-performed short film, brimming with fierceness and unflinching intensity. I think enough of the backstop can be deduced from the theatrical revenge, though of course I want to know what happens next.

An uncomfortable topic is made more bearable by the tragic mask of camp and comedy, and we are left unsettled by the extended staredown at the end. The second half of this piece is practically acrobatic in its delivery. And every performance is spot on. The creepiness of one, the sly corners of another, the steel threat of the third.

I am definitely looking forward to seeing more work from everyone involved.

With some ideas but......

This very short little film, trying to showcase the same old issues, doesn't seem to have much new to offer.

The last few performances, with their bombastic lines and exaggerated tones, lack some design and beauty.

The direction of the story is certainly not obvious, and one could say that it lets fly with little obvious storytelling. The meaning expressed is shown through a relatively new form. But that's where it ends.

Some say this is the real Blonde Monroe, but I'm not so sure. Blonde Monroe has its own problems, but it can't be replaced. Maybe it is a short film discussing almost the same topic, and there is some impact, but not much.

Disturbing but powerful

I saw this short film at MUBI and I was moved by it. I'm not a big fan of shorts but I decided to see this after reading the synopsis as I'm interested in the Hollywood culture.

This is quite powerful and disturbing at the same time. I'd like to think of it as a delicate criticism of "the" Hollywood at large and the way things work.

A marvellous performance by the director/writer/actor Antonio Marziale. I will follow his work after seeing this. The other two actors are great as well. Quite frankly, I hadn't seen anything exceptional lately and this short film restored my faith in the American movie industry.

Powerful and Personal

This was obviously a very personal topic for the maker of this short. It's even more noticeable since the writer and director is also the Star so you can see the pain and fury in their eyes.

I love how whimsical it was despite it being such a dark topic and a very sad one too. It gave humour to it but underneath it was still bitter and heartbreaking. This will resonate with lots of people on Hollywood and that's kinda sad. I'm glad that this writer poured his heart out and shown it for everyone. It's such a unique movie and I'll definitely keep an eye out to see what else they decided to do!!

Dumb

If you're gonna make adult fare, at least put some thought and quality into it.

This short feels like War and Peace in length. It's THAT bad.

It drones on with really sub-par acting, a dumb script and really poor directing.

I could not wait for the finish, so to speak. It's just a boring excuse to make waste time that I now cannot get back.

If you think you're into this kind of stuff, my recommendation would be to go to the Hamster site and do a search for something more interesting.

Or better yet, read a book. I wish more than anything else, that I took my own advice and avoided this crapola.

Utter garbage

Anyone who says this movie was good is simply pretending they understand it.

I watched it 3 times as it was only short. I kept thinking it was just me not getting it. But each time I watched it it became m0ore and more painful.

I wonder if the writer was trying to make a cathartic film for some reason? The problem is with that is that unless we can think exactly like him we can't understand his references. I could not even guess at them let alone understand them.

It's films like this that make me wish for the good old days of IMDB when we were able to just put "Crap!" and that was the review.

Now we are forced to write a minimum of 600 words all of which point to the exact same outcome. This film is crap.

noble intention
Kirpianuscus1 July 2023
Obvious good intentions of director about a protest against sexual abuse in cinema industry.

The result is ...bizarre. An older man and his young proteje. A revenge of the last against his protector. A short show about a short show in which, a presumed victim of director is front to his abuse against other young man.

Noble purpose, no doubts. Less convincing because, at the end, not exactly moral rules but a fist of questions and pure confusion. And the young men are not exactly the expected heroes.

A gay film , only ? A manifesto ? A hommage to Marylin Monroe ? Maybe only a too long oneshort film.

But , indeed, its virtue , reduced to the remind of abuses against newcomers in industry is a noble one.
