Xavier's estrangement from Ruby and Romeo grows but he seems to be making a firm friend in April, who again is restricted to a virtual cameo but is still making a good impression.Tony gets to act thoroughly bemused at Rachel's acceptance of his new endeavour and Liam gets some character development which seems to be moving him further and further away from an involvement with Ruby.
Any hope of Penn being a decent person has throughly evaporated by the end of this episode, as it seems it's not just schoolgirls he goes for. Nicole's behaviour is alternately frustrating and annoying, having wrecked her exams last year by hanging around with a dodgy older guy that she wasn't really that interested in, she's now doing the same again.Even worse, she then proceeds to snap at Ruby, who for once is actually innocent, and only gets a smile on her face when Penn kisses her, as though that's somehow worth throwing away her future for.
