"Penn's nothing but trouble and if Nicole hasn't realised that by now then it's her fault"
skteosk14 September 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Does its job but immensely frustrating.Several plot lines just seem to be standing still with apparent developments doing little to change the characters or their interactions with each other.Liam is back to hanging around with Ruby and acting as though her crush on him is just going to go away.Ruby acts borderline sensible by avoiding him at the Diner but still can't just get over it.Bianca is still issuing dire warnings and acting as though she's above the whole thing when it's really nothing to do with her.She does, however, get a nice scene with Irene, who seems to be one of the few people she listens to.

Nicole, meanwhile, is still refusing to see that there's anything wrong with Penn.Penn is still talking in crazy double talk and manipulating everyone.Miles, Marilyn and Sid are still sitting around firing off impotent lectures at them both.Even Miles kicking Penn out of the caravan park doesn't seem to change anything. But the last scene of Penn dropping the charm and insulting Nicole is fantastic and contains more development than the rest of the episode put together.

There's a disappointing lack of Xavier/April interaction but it's made up for by a return to form for John Palmer, tactlessly trying it on with a sullen Gina and then talking straight to Xavier and manage to smooth things over for a bit.The scene of John and Xavier watching a movie, their body language identical, is the highlight of the episode.
