(Welcome to Animation Celebration, a recurring feature where we explore the limitless possibilities of animation as a medium. In this edition: season 3 of "Clone High" and "Jellystone!")
Animation fans (and fans of good movies regardless of style) have been thrust into an emotional tornado spinning as wildly as the Tasmanian Devil regarding the release of director Dave Green ("Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows") and writer Samy Burch's ("May December") live-action/animated hybrid Looney Tunes courtroom flick, "Coyote vs. Acme." What should be an absolute no-brainer hit at the box office is at risk of being scrapped for a tax write-off despite positive test screenings, the result of yet another frustrating corporate decision prioritizing capitalism over creativity, and an all-out attack on the art of filmmaking.
Of course, you realize, this means war.
Listen, I don't think I need to tell anyone that despite the animation industry...

In 2004, Degrassi: The Next Generation aired what would become their most controversial episode with “Accidents Will Happen,” which premiered in Canada in two parts on January 26 and February 9, 2004. However, the episode would not see the light of day on Degrassi’s U.S. network, The N, for another two years. This sparked outrage among Degrassi fans and confusion among the show’s stars, who couldn’t understand why, out of every sensitive topic Degrassi had touched upon, the storyline in “Accidents Will Happen” was too much for America to handle.

Is Drake really ready to hang up his rap jersey for good? The music icon addressed that question during an Oct. 6 interview on "Table For One" to promote his new album "For All the Dogs." While he's not ready to throw in the towel on his music career entirely, he is looking forward to taking a much-deserved break.
"I probably won't make music for a little bit. I'm going to be real with you. I need to focus on my health, first and foremost," he shared (via TMZ), clarifying that his health issues are "nothing crazy." He continued, "I want people to be healthy in life, and I've been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach . . . So I need to focus on my health and I need to get right." In the end, Drake doesn't anticipate his break will be too long. "Maybe a year or something, maybe a little longer,...

In Drake’s anticipated, wide-ranging interview on TikTok star Bobbi Althoff’s “The Really Good Podcast” — released today — the rapper admitted he’s not “intrigued” by dating famous people and candidly discussed his (lack of) marriage plans.

“Ok, someone else, ’cause Beyoncé’s married,” Drake replied. “Pick someone else. It doesn’t have to be someone famous… I probably will end up marrying someone that’s not famous. Famous people really aren’t that… aren’t that anything. They’re not that intriguing.”
The Grammy-winner went on to say he’s not much of a “celebrity-chaser” and proceeded to explain why he’s never been married.

Netflix has renewed drama series “Ginny & Georgia” for two more seasons, naming a new showrunner to helm the next installments.
Debra J. Fisher oversaw the first two seasons of the show, which landed on Netflix in January 2021 and December 2022, respectively. The third and fourth seasons will be overseen by former “Degrassi” producer Sarah Glinski.
Glinski’s appointment took place before the Writers Guild of America went on strike.

“Run the Burbs” star Andrew Phung is widely considered to be one of Canada’s biggest sneakerheads. But his former “Kim’s Convenience” co-star Simu Liu is no sneaker slouch either, having famously rocked some ultra-rare Jordans in “Shang-Chi”. So whose kick game reigns supreme?

If Niamh Wilson carries herself like a showbiz veteran, it's because she is. The Canadian wunderkind has been working in the entertainment industry since age five.
Wilson is currently lighting up our screens as rival-turned-romantic interest to Cynthia (Ari Notartomaso) in Paramount+'s Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies. We discussed the impact of Lydia and Cynthia's unlikely romance and reflected on Wilson's already impressive career.
When I remark on the beauty of the vibrant work of art on the wall behind her, Wilson announces that she painted it herself. It's hardly surprising -- the 26-year-old acts, sings, dances, directs, and writes. Is there anything she can't do?
"I'm terrible at sports!" Wilson admits.
Unlike her character Lydia, Wilson wasn't a typical theatre kid in high school.

As many actors know, fame can mean getting recognized by fans at any point — even in situations where they’d rather not be recognized. Ginny & Georgia star Sara Waisglass experienced this once, and she took to TikTok recently to share the story. Unfortunately for Waisglass, the fan encounter happened during a “very intimate” check-up at a doctor’s office.

There’s a specific turbulence that accompanies high school coming-of-age stories, and plenty of shows have attempted to trace the growing pains of growing up — among them, beloved shows like “Euphoria,” “Degrassi,” “All American” and “Skins,” which delve into admittedly adult and weighty topics. Netflix’s “Never Have I Ever,” from co-creators Lang Fisher and Mindy Kaling, is born of grief and trauma — Maitreyi Ramakrishnan’s Devi Vishwakumar is still reeling after the death of her father — but the series stands apart for letting its central teen be, well, a teen.
“We like that we have someone who’s a little immature,” Fisher, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer, told TheWrap. “She’s insecure and she makes defensive moves out of her insecurity because that’s the kind of teenager I was and our writers were and most people are. You are sort of dishonest and a little...
