Decent low budget slasher
TdSmth527 November 2016
A high school nerdy kid named Sammy is relentlessly bullied by his peers, both boys and girls for some reason. One day he takes a gun to school but only shoots one of them. He ends up in a mental institution for 5 years.

5 years later then those kids start getting killed one by one by a masked assailant. There are two surprises at the end, one of which we couldn't possibly have guessed.

Deadly Karma is your low-budget revenge slasher with some nudity but very little violence or gore. Some killings are on-camera others are off-camera, which is probably the one thing no horror movie should do.

Acting is alright for this level of movie, the story does manage to go beyond a generic story but only at the very end. As with many movies about high schoolers, the actors look way too old. These movies also insist on having scenes take place at night when they know full well they don't have the budget to shoot at night.

Low-budget horror has come a long way. Deadly Karma is watchable but not very remarkable.

Warning: Spoilers
Sammy (Jordon Hodges) is the class spastic at a high school where everyone must look like they are 25. He is bullied until the point he goes Columbine on them. His sister (Gracie Denton) tries to get him to stand up for himself, yet every now and then she forgets her lines and calls him Timmy. Sammy goes to a mental institution and five years later, the kids, who still look 25, start to die.

Perhaps the best way to think about this film is as a spoof of the 70's and 80's films of High School revenge, because clearly as a stand alone film, it doesn't past the smell test. The acting was bad, dialouge predictable, and the shower scene a question mark as the girls wear bikini bottoms while in the shower.

The ending, i.e. the identity of the killer, was clearly a spoof as no one in their right mind would write such an ending.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex, ample nudity (Jessica Leonard, Kirstie Munoz (brief), Gracie Denton + others)
