Great Episode, Even With Toodles' Low Self-Esteem
gavin69424 December 2014
Mickey and friends zoom around the Clubhouse in a race where everyone wins!

First of all, my condolences on the loss of Wayne Allwine, who had voiced Mickey Mouse since 1983. This was his last episode and the end of an era. He was not the first, he will not be the last, but he was a pretty decent Mickey (or at least the infants I know think so).

This episode was great, especially because it was very Pete-centric, and Pete is just such a good character. It also has one of the funniest lines, concerning Pete's history with piles of rubber ducks.

But the real question is, why is Toodles so insecure? He helps out three or four times every episode, and then in this one, when his help is not needed for just a few minutes, he gets sad. Is his self-esteem so fragile that he falls to pieces if people are not depending on him constantly? It seems a strange message to send to kids.

Great episode! And some points for Toodles'

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was a very good one mainly for giving Toodles' a chance as a character and not just a plot device. This episode basically shows that, even though Toodles' has helped numerous times during each episode, we can see he gets very upset when someone else steps in. This is probably because that's what he was programmed to do! It could be self-esteem, (said from another user) but I personally think it's that Toodles' is programmed by Professor Von Drake to help those that need help! And when someone else takes over for a while, he's not his happiest, because that's his whole purpose, to help. So if the rescue truck and Goofy made Toodles' think nobody needed him anymore, he just lost his purpose and has no reason to be there so of course he's gonna get upset! Also Pete's moments were pretty funny too. Basically teaching kids that fastest isn't always better, don't procrastinate or you'll miss out!

Fantastic Episode and Great Character Growth for Toodles

I loved this episode a whole lot because it further showed that Toodles is more than just an extension of the Mousekedoer. Toodles shows that he is a friend who is literally built to help others and the inadvertent conflict Goofy causes with the new Rescue Truck results in Toodles being challenged by something that seems superior.

Toodles proves right here that he is more than a simple invention! He has feelings and wants to do what he was programmed to do. And I felt extremely bad for Toodles when he thought everyone forgot him. I just wanted to give him a hug and tell him that his friends do care. Toodles is sensitive and passionate for helping his friends. He proves that he is the best friend anyone can ask for and even a hero during the climatic river rescue scene.

Disney clearly wanted to show everyone that Toodles is something special! The only down-side is that, after Clubhouse ended, they overlooked and basically forgotten Toodles. Sadly making his worst fears come true. I really hope Disney rectifies their mistake and brings Toodles back in the revival! He's the one friend that nobody should be without.
