Great episode but....

Why are the bagpipers playing "Scotland the Brave" on St Patrick's Day, apart from that it was an amazing episode. Glad to see JLH back. I've loved her in everything she's done.

Makes a huge difference , Maddie and Chim saves the day.
mrmarckline29 March 2022
After last week's meltdown when everything turned to goo, we finally get emotional and real , Jennifer Love Hewitt and Kenneth Choi are the reason why this show is surviving. Was nice to have a guest spot also fill in this episode with A J Cook from Criminal Minds, her uplifting portrayal of a mom who was having her own difficulties was moving. Clearly was kleenex episode.

Brilliant
Jennifer Love Hewitt and Kenneth Choi are good enough they could carry an entire show by themselves. I cannot WAIT for Maddie and Chimney to be back in LA.

maddie and chim save the show

Warning: Spoilers
JLH and Kenneth are absolutely fantastic, give them all the awards. It's a beautiful episode, honestly the best episode of this season. They didn't take PPD lightly, they showed the struggles of it, and how it can effect someone. It truly is a fantastic episode, so happy to have Maddie abd Chimney back.

So nice to finally see Jennifer and Kenny back - the show has suffered without their presence in 5A and this episode was truly something special. They are both powerhouses and the perfect pair to pull off such a heavy and important storyline. I REALLY felt the heart the show has been missing this season.

Looking at the writing and director credits for this episode, I think having some fresh talent has really helped. MORE of this please. 5b has been off to a good start so far, despite one or two questionable choices in the first episode (I'll reserve judgements until we finish the longer game - not all journeys are linear), both have been entertaining, well paced and cathartic. Hopefully this momentum continues and the show keeps serving their core cast (!!) which the audience knows, loves, and deserves to see solid storylines from.

I look forward to Maddie and Chimney's journey post Boston, as I look forward to Eddie's journey this season. Cannot wait to see Hen and Chimney reunite, and cannot wait to see Buck and Eddie's relationship continue to develop, and the eventual reuniting of the core 118. I hope the writers dig deep this season.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode had lots of heavy topics that were handled so incredibly well. Jennifer's acting was honestly unmatched - i couldn't stop crying through many parts of the episode (especially the reunion 😭). Although it didn't include all the members of the 118 as usual, it was so important that there was an episode where Maddie's ppd was discussed and this episode handled Maddie's suicide attempt really well - covering all different emotions and help maddie went through afterwards. This is definitely one of my favourite episodes so far of the series and i'm so glad maddie and chimney will be back as main characters and hopefully the 118 will be back with chimney and eddie within the next couple of episodes as well.

The acting, the story, the care and attention to mental illness. The episode was beautiful and both Jen and Kenny need awards for the amount of love and care and raw emotion they showed in all of their scenes - together and apart.

Absolutely the best episode of season five so far and it will take a lot to top it.

Excellent!

Although I am a man I have lived vicariously through PPD. The depiction of PPD was so believable and this was a very emotional and wonderful episode. JLH and Ken Choi really paid you feel what they were going through.

My new favorite episode
catlove-0534129 March 2022
Jennifer and Kenny singlehandedly saved this season with this one episode. I went through every single emotion watching this episode. The writing was amazing and the acting like was phenomenal. If you think this episode deserves any less than 10 stars, you're tasteless.

Give Jennifer Love Hewitt and Kenneth Choi an Emmy! This was such an emotional episode that had absolutely phenomenal character development. The storyline was respectfully portrayed. This is easily one of my top ten all time favorite 9-1-1 episodes.

Good, but kinda disappointing
ayeanaing29 March 2022
I love Maddie and Chimney, but why an entire episode dedicated to them? Parts of it were slow and boring, and I missed the usual 911-esque emergency scenes and other character dynamics in this episode. They could have included more main characters and still told this story. Overall a good episode, but really lacking in some parts.

Good episode of a terrible season

Warning: Spoilers
When you have actors/actresses like Kenneth and Jennifer is hard to do a bad job.

It was a very well done episode with interesting storylines, but I feel like even if Jennifer was on leave in season 5A they could have developed this arc way better in there instead of throwing it all in in one episode with no one else.

Yes, it was good, but I miss the 118 ensemble, and not seeing any of them for 42 minutes just before a hiatus of two weeks is not really a good thing.

Overall the acting and writing was nicely done.

Good topic
priceashley-8810929 March 2022
I loved last nights episode. The actors did a good job. So did the producers. They covered a good topic which you barely see in any shows.

Let's try to get more higher viewers so we can get a season 6 with everyone .

Madney together again - Finally!

Warning: Spoilers
The other good thing was no FireBarbie! Please keep it that way!! Good job with the Suicide PSA.

Live Eli! The east coast Bobby - but I think he hits the mark even better than Booby!

did Jennifer Love just save this season or what?
ou-3962329 March 2022
This was such an emotional episode and it was so amazing thanks to Jennifer and Kenny. They delivered them feels. Very honest depiction of PPD and mental illness. I don't think this season can top this episode but I'm crossing my fingers now that Maddie and Chimney are back!!! And it was about time because Season 5a was ... ok I'd say.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was the finest art I have laid my eyes on from this show in awhile. The representation of ppd and women's struggles around pregnancy was so important, the script between madney had some of the most beautiful lines I've seen in romance and set my expectations incredibly high. Truly a comeback from 5a, which flopped oops. I think this ep is keeping the audience excited for more with them reuniting back in LA, getting the og 118 crew back (no more bucklucy were literally all begging), and eddies mental health journey because of the similarities between eddie and maddie.

I've never cried more (and I'm being serious)
kabiraencore200529 March 2022
First of all, Jennifer and Kenneth absolutely acted their butts off. My eyes were wet the entire episode, and do not even get me started on that last scene because I was too busy damaging my lungs with screams of joy. I missed them so much, and seeing this family again after so long was like an ACTUAL fresh breath of air (cough cough.. kristen)

This was a beautifully written episode. The writers never miss with Maddie-centric episodes, especially a very much needed one after Maddie's disappearance in 5A.

Maddie and Chimney are back and nature has started to heal again!

Not very often...

Am I offended but an irish band playing Scotland the Brave on plastic paddy's day has to be the most offensive thing I have seen in a very very long time. The members of production responsible for this travesty owe every Scottish man, woman & child an apology.

This show should called not 911. Ghost Wisperer 2.0 In this episode, only the supporting cast are smiling. This show has lost humor and more and more my interest.

Why would they bring Mattie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) back on the show???

She is not a good actress and her drama pulls down what otherwise is a great show!

I was hoping they were going to totally write her out of the show forever!

Mattie=👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 Jennifer Love Hewitt wins my ten thumbs down award.

Trigger warning needed
jenslittleducks30 March 2022
My 22 year old child started watching this, there was no trigger warning. My child has suffered with suicidal ideation for 7 years. We couldn't even watch 5 minutes without them saying they had to leave the room. That was similar to one of their own attempts to take there own life. A show that focuses on first responders should know better about triggering.

"What Happened with the Switch"?
carmenjulianna26 April 2022
I watch this show on occasions when there is nothing else to watch, as some of the characters just Cannot Act!..But, how stupid do the producers believe all of us public to be?? Come on, when Maddie.met Howie and their daughter for the 1st time in months (since her apparent ppd) the baby looked full Chinese! And much smaller..!! In the next scene (which was supposedly the following day) anyone could see that the child had been Switched!! With a bi-racial much older child (which now appears to be walking...Already)? It was unbelievable and Shocking...Hadn't Maddies disappearance been for only 6 months..If So..Why is it that when their daughter was only a few weeks old at the time Maddie leaving, and six months from her sudden re-appearance, that the child jumped in size and culture in just One Day??? This storyline is really ridiculous, Unbelievable and taking us all for fools... I was surprised at 1st that they used a full Chinese baby in one scene (when it was obvious that the baby should have been bi-racial) Then conveniently, and suddenly! This bi-racial Toddler appears in the following scene.. We all know (I suppose) and understand that different children would be used during filming but, this is laughable and ridiculous... This Show Is a Hit and Miss! Due to the inexperienced actors they have on the show that are just not likeable or you just can't connect with....(all so wooden, stiff, and try too hard to be likeable by over acting).. 'Angela Bassett' however does a Great Job (as usual), just a shame she had to do it on this show...!
