Everyone loves fun car films. With Fast X spawning a spin-off and sequel and Gran Tusimo (out on VOD Tuesday) doing decent business at the box office, the genre isn’t going anywhere. We thought now would be a good time to check out some less-known (or underrated) entries into the genre.
Taxi
We’re going to cheat right off the start by counting this whole series and one entry on this list. The films here are action-comedy classics for fans of French movies and those who love a good car stunt. The first established the characters, but the second is possibly the best of the bunch. Only die-hard fans will want to bother from the third to the fourth to the fifth. However, those first two are worth seeking out what the French do with a modified Peugeot 406, the vacation town of Nice, and a cast that most will recognize from other movies.

Post Malone experiences something that falls between a religious epiphany and a therapeutic breakthrough while pacing around somebody’s roof in Los Angeles in a new, live-performance video of his Austin song “Something Real.” In the clip, he steps on the shingles of a home as stadium lights, which look a bit like something out of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, flash around him. “Give me something I can feel,” he sings along with a gospel choir before breaking with logic to bleat, “like a cigarette just so I can breathe.

Post Malone’s new live performance of his song “Overdrive” is a high-energy jam that is sure to get you moving. The performance, which was filmed for Vevo, features Malone and his band performing the song in a stripped-down setting. The result is a raw and powerful performance that showcases Malone’s vocal talent and the band’s tight musicianship.
The performance begins with Malone sitting on a stool, strumming his guitar. As the song progresses, he stands up and starts to move around, his energy matching the intensity of the music. The band provides a driving beat, and Malone’s vocals are clear and powerful. The performance is a perfect example of Malone’s ability to connect with his audience through his music.
“Overdrive” is a song about feeling invincible and unstoppable. The lyrics are about pushing yourself to the limit and overcoming any obstacle that comes your way.

Stephen King has written hundreds of short stories and more than sixty novels, but he has only directed one movie. The independent film business is again showing signs of rude health as the global film industry struggles to recover post-pandemic. Sundance is often taken as the pace-setter, and distribution deals were plentiful this year, with seven- and eight-figure sales for the likes of Theater Camp (to Searchlight for an estimated 8 million), Flora and Son (Apple TV+, 20 million) and Fair Play (Netflix, 20 million), just the biggest of around a dozen 2023 Park City pickups. But Berlin’s European Film Market will be the industry’s true acid test.
“Sundance is more U.S.-focused in general,” says Alice Laffillé, vp sales at FilmNation, which did the Apple TV+ deal for Flora and Son. “There are always some big, splashy deals with streamers and U.S. buyers like Neon, A24 or Magnolia. Berlin is the first real international market, where we see where things stand.”

Sony Release Dates Scramble: ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ Moves To November, ‘Uncharted’ Shifts To 2022
Many moons ago, when we were so much younger and so much more innocent, back in March 2020, when the pandemic first started, Sony Pictures looked like smart trailblazers. They saw the writing on the wall immediately and knew “Tenet” in the summer of 2020 would be a joke: the company wrote off 2020 entirely and moved their entire slate to 2021, abandoning 2020 as a write off year and they were right.

A racing game without finish lines sounds about as unnatural as a modern Aaa game without a Battle Royale mode. Codemasters, or more specifically members who made Motorstorm, have tackled a brand new genre for arcade racing: class-based action without a need to worry about who’s in the lead. Onrush, named after the “ultimate” ability each car possesses, offers team-based racing with a focus on objectives rather than speed.
The basics are simple: each map has “fodder” enemies (think Titanfall’s grunts) that can be bulldozed for boost. Boost is the lifeblood of the game, and can also be gained from jumps, among other things. Much like Battlefield, Onrush is all about Pto: Play The Objective. There’s no reward for being in first place, so you must work together with your team to make sure you’re taking the steps necessary to win the match. Everything happens within...

Are physical copies still the best way to enjoy a good book, or has digital taken over? That's a question I ask myself regularly, and honestly I see the value in both. There's nothing more satisfying than seeing how far you've gone through a physical book and the fancy bookmark you get to shove in there to mark your progress. At the same time, my iPhone has an Overdrive account and I can literally pick my next book online and lazily read it with one hand while lying on my back. Honestly, I'm still not quite sure where I fall in this argument, and if you feel the same, maybe this video will help you decide. Are you more of a physical book or tablet type of reader?...

In addition to a pair of memorable performances from Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, cinematographer Roger Deakins’ stunning visual work, and director Denis Villeneuve’s dystopian vision, “Blade Runner 2049” has one more element worthy of excitement: a supporting cast of new and rising stars. Many of them have already made their mark on indie cinema, like the perpetually working David Dastmalchian or the irreverent Carla Juri, while others will likely use Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic as a springboard for even bigger careers (like Ana de Armas, the film’s biggest find).
