Is anything going to happen this season ??
mpboylanjr-5403822 May 2023
I'm watching week after week hoping to get some payoff after a great season 1, but it seems to be a lot of filler and stories that don't pan out into anything. We are 5 episodes in now to season 2 and we have just more questions and are getting no really good answers to why they are all there, and the creatures etc... Were they not prepared to get to a season 2 with this show ? I'm going to stick with it because I really think there can be a great payoff somewhere but it's getting late into the season for really nothing to happen. I really hope it picks up starting next week because it's shaping up to be a classic dud of a show at this pace.

Bunch of pointless drama
mr-gio-9121 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The season 2 had an interesting start, and Season 1 was great. Now, in the last 3 episodes It's got a whole lot of nothing. Just pointless drama of characters that's based on their past and has no impact on the main story and absolutely 0 hint to solve the mystery. They're just milking it now.

The characters don't seem to care enough on solving the mystery. They're more focused on their personal issues and past than focusing on finding a way out.

The season 1 had great direction of the story. The radio tower, and searching the woods and the dedication characters had was different.

Somehow it's getting worse by every episode. Disappointing season so far. Hopefully it picks up on the second half of season 2.

When good shows lose their mojo
denise_actress27 May 2023
Wow season 1 proved to be unexpected and just when you think it's going one way it shocks you with another turn. Now it's less monsters at night and sentimental nonsense with the girl who hears voices. I get that it's an elaborate version of an original Twilight Zone episode but why build up and then flatline. Writers should take lessons from the writers of Succession. Know how to keep building momentum and cut out all the mumbo jumbo emo conversations. I can't blame the actors if the script they are given us so monotonous. Season 2 is definitely not how I was thinking it was going to be. Hollywood hire better writers.

Lullaby
bobcobb3018 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Another slow burn episode for From the featured a spooky scene very early on with the character being confronted in the bus, and I expect something bigger to happen here soon, but we need these kinds of refreshers just to emphasize and drive home the danger of what is going on.

But I still think we need a little bit more than this week to week. The Jade and Victor scenes were fine, but they keep teasing these small reveals from Victor and I wonder if there is anything that will actually come from it.

Not as bad as some users are saying, but the show does need to start putting its foot on the gas a bit.

This is why you don't rely on bad reviews
shipwrek-653655 June 2023
Unfortunately we live in a world where everyone believes they are a critic. The poor reviews is the reason I decided to write something about this show. Not every episode is going to be climactic and full of excitement. There needs to be a story and character development.

This episode is exactly that. It continues to take us on the journey and like Lost the show is going to be a roller coaster ride.

I can't wait to see where this show goes and I'm hoping enough people watch and enjoy so that the show can continue. I'm not sure if everyone understands putting a bad rating can actually affect the future of a show.

8/10.

Nothing Happens - The show
JW9621 May 2023
With a pretty decent first season, From has devolved into a show not about the mystery, the survival of a town trapped nor their efforts to escape.

It has now become a melodrama delving into pointless interpersonal relationships within the town, dialogue largely does nothing to further the plot and whole episodes can be skipped in the second season without worry of missing any key plot points.

I've come to notice their formula for this show: -Create 2 new mysteries whilst partially answering 1 -Flashbacks of character backstories -End on an obscure note, not really engaging enough to be called a "cliffhanger"

The writers are clearly out of ideas and are now just milking whatever they can from streaming services and gullible viewers.

Recommend you drop this series until it improves although inertia may be the death of a this once promising series.

Another excellent episode
newpapyrus21 May 2023
Although there was not a lot of action in this episode, there were a lot of interesting character interactions and some surprising revelations. This show is so damn interesting. I think its one of the best horror mystery shows ever made.

Love the character development. But sometimes its so frustrating that each individual is so reluctant to discuss what each of them knows and has experienced.

But it makes me wonder if the entity or entities involved in this terrifying situation are also making this happen.

The story telling and the number of complex characters on this show is really amazing.

The WORST episode of the series
RebelPanda23 May 2023
"From" Season 2: Episode 5 - "Lullaby" fails to live up to the horror and drama that initially captivated me. Clocking in at 53 minutes, this episode struggles to deliver a compelling narrative, relying heavily on frustrating characters and recycled conflicts from the first season. The episode revolves around Sara, who finds herself facing the repercussions of multiple murders in the town upon her return. Meanwhile, an unlikely bargain is struck between Victor and Jade. Unfortunately, the execution falls flat, leaving viewers disappointed and yearning for more.

One of the major drawbacks of this episode is the reliance on unending arguments among the characters. These repetitive conflicts recycle the same doubts about being trapped in the town and the existence of the menacing monsters that haunt the night. This lack of progress and character development leaves the audience feeling frustrated and unengaged. The character drama that dominated the previous episode continues to take center stage, but the performances fail to impress. The acting feels lackluster and fails to inject the necessary depth and emotion into the scenes. As a result, the impact of pivotal moments is diminished, leaving viewers disconnected from the story.

Furthermore, "Lullaby" suffers from spending too much time treading familiar ground. Rather than pushing the narrative forward with fresh and compelling storylines, the script feels stagnant, as characters run in circles with conflicts that lack intrigue. The lack of meaningful progression stifles the episode's potential and leaves viewers craving more substance. Additionally, the relationship between Kristi and Mari in "From" Season 2 feels disappointingly half baked. While Kristi has been established as a character who has been in the town for a significant period, Mari's introduction feels like an afterthought. Unfortunately, Mari's character suffers from being more of an accessory to Kristi's storyline rather than having her own well-developed arc.

The lack of depth and exploration of Mari's character leaves the audience with a sense of detachment. We are given little insight into her background, motivations, and personal struggles, making it difficult to fully invest in her as a character. Instead, Mari feels like a mere plot device to facilitate Kristi's character development. This forced dynamic between Kristi and Mari further exacerbates the issue. Their struggle and connection feel contrived and lacking in authenticity. It becomes evident that Mari's sole purpose is to serve as a catalyst for Kristi's growth, rather than being a fully realized and integral character in her own right. This imbalance in focus undermines the potential for a more nuanced and compelling relationship between the two.

Furthermore, it is worth mentioning the absence of Harold Perrineau's character, Sheriff Boyd, throughout the season. Perrineau, who is undeniably one of the strongest actors in the series, seems to have minimal presence in the episodes. It almost feels as though he was not on set at the same time as the other actors, resulting in his scenes being filmed separately. The disjointedness of Perrineau's appearances raises questions about the overall cohesion of the production. With limited screen time, the audience is left craving more of Sheriff Boyd's commanding presence and nuanced performance. His absence is keenly felt, and it hampers the overall impact and effectiveness of the season.

Furthermore, the sudden shift in Victor's behavior towards Jade in "From" Season 2 feels contrived and lacks proper justification. In the previous episode, Victor and Jade were portrayed as being at odds with each other, with Victor harboring anger towards Jade. However, in this episode, Victor inexplicably seeks out Jade's assistance, which feels forced and lacking in believable character development.

In conclusion, "Lullaby" falls short of expectations. The frustrating characters, recycled conflicts, and underwhelming performances overshadow the episode's few redeeming qualities. As the series progresses, it's essential for the showrunners to inject fresh ideas and reignite the gripping narrative that initially drew audiences in. Hopefully, the second half of the season will deliver on the promise of the first season's potential.

Sarah has killed people
verstand21 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Hey, did you know that Sarah has killed people last season? Just making sure in case you missed the dozen or so talks we had about that by now. Let's get detailed reactions by the whole damn town. What else happened? Not much. We learned barely anything new about what's going on with the place. Also that one guy may be doing something or not, who knows? Some of the new arrivals have problems. If only we had had time to start caring about them by now.

Nothing really gripped me this episode. Not even the attempted cliffhanger did anything. Wait, that's not true. It makes me anxious about next ep having drawn out talks about Sarah having killed that one older guy.

This series needs to seriously pick up the pace.

What's even the point?
cannonmanonly21 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Here we are halfway through the second season and they're barely trying to resolve interpersonal storyline from season one but he problem is there's no reason to care with the interesting parts of the show being ignored. We have a show about people-eating ghosts, an inescapable town, magic teleporting trees, and a mystery man on the radio that knows the characters and at this point there has been ZERO resolution or explanation for anything. I'm pretty sure I won't watch another episode since it all feels like a waste of time with a story that will barely progress and an introduction of more annoying characters that add nothing to the show. The writers and producers are presenting the program like a soap opera rather than the horror show it proclaims to be. One of the most annoying things is that they either can't write for or can't direct the female actresses because they are all insufferable and overdramatic. I'll just read a synopsis of the story later and find something better to do with my time instead of watching this show.

I agree with the negative reviews
yincetas-9680923 May 2023
I was hooked after the 1st episode in the 1st season and watched them all in one day. I was looking forward to Season 2. Sadly it left much to be desired. The suspense and horror is gone and the episodes move at telenovela pace. I'm hoping it will pick up. I still like the show but it looks like the story lost direction. It feels like they are trying to decide whether this show needs to keep up the suspense and turn to a mystery/horror show or deviate from it and become a drama show so that they can focus on character development and relationships. Oh well. I guess we will wait and see. I'm hoping there won't be a season 3 if it keeps moving this slow.

Disgustingly slow
SultanBrunei23 May 2023
I don't know where this show is going. You can skip two episodes and not losing anything to the main story. Season 2 is just like a drama show with a little bit of monster here and there. The monsters are just spices to the show.

You don't get anything for the whole 50 minutes of the show! The whole episode it's just random unimportant talks here and there between the characters in the show. Some sheriff that is acting nonsense. A country girl that is also nonsense to the community and even herself.

Come on, this show used to be a very good show in season one! I can't stand another 5 episodes in the second season and I hope it gets better real soon. If it is not, please stop it and don't torture us for third season!

End of common sense
Wilishem22 May 2023
Oh. My. God.

How in the world this exists. This pure borderline nonsense. This absolutely stinking pile of garbage that we should except as a mystery show. Never have I ever felt so enraged with the stupidness happening at every freaking turn. There is no script, there are no believable characters, their is no idea - it's as if it was written in ChatGPT - just words and actions mixed together that look familiar up close but from a perspective don't make any sense.

By the way the freaking bus arrived five episodes ago. The thing that could've turned this show upside down, make our jaws drop, defeat all expectations. But as of now it did nothing special.

This show is an epic monument to absurdness.

Soap opera
poorejj23 May 2023
I come across this show maybe a month ago and instantly was hooked! It has been one of the better shows I've seen up until season 2 with maybe the first episode being the exception. The show is just wasting time. It kind of reminds me of The Walking Dead because in The Walking Dead the show started off with the threat of zombies and quickly turned into a drama/soap opera with boring drama and slow progression... It seems like the same thing is happening with this show. The type of people that watched season 1 and loved it most likely are not the kind of people that want to watch the Young and the Restless.... So why is that what they are giving us in season 2? This show is going to die if something doesn't change soon.

filler episodes that barely make sense
rowanfuchs22 May 2023
The recent episodes, including the current one, seem to be filler episodes rather than going deeper into characters. Instead of delving into the intricate complexities of the individuals that we grew attached to, we are bombarded with an excessive amount of drama and senseless storylines. This shift in focus detracts from the overall narrative, leaving viewers longing for the depth and substance that initially captivated them.

The first season of the show was a revelation, showcasing a perfect blend of excitement, suspense, and fear that had us on the edge of our seats. Each episode was exhilarating, unraveling the mysteries and secrets of the characters in a way that kept us fully invested in their journeys. It was an experience that left us craving for more.

However, as the series progressed, it seems to have lost its way. Instead of building upon the solid foundation laid out in the initial season, the writers opted for a more superficial approach. They seem to prioritize shock value over character development, presenting us with exaggerated scenarios and unnecessary twists that fail to resonate on a deeper level.

Booooring and torturously slow...fool me once
leeftr22 May 2023
Season 1 was good, but the producers evidently decided to stretch things out because of its success. Too bad the extended storylines are a snooze. I can see where "From" is going - it will jerk us around for a few seasons and then come up with a stupid ending like Lost (fortunately I didn't commit too much time to Lost, and I will avoid making that mistake here).

Some of the acting is not good (Tabitha, the teenage daughter and Fatima in particular) and this adds to the torture.

You know a show is going badly when you keep checking how many minutes are left before an episode ends. In this episode I found myself checking the clock multiple times.

I regret the sunk costs associated with getting into this snoozefest.

The Walking Stick. From Is Stuck. Sara, Smile.
jamericanbeauty23 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Why is that little kid still walking with a stick? Young healthy bones and bodies heal fast. Why can't he ditch the walking staff? He's not Moses. In this episode, people talk, yell, curse, walk, sit, talk, kiss, talk, hallucinate, talk, walk, play a violin (that was my favorite scene) Sara's bad, a request, in advance, for an assisted suicide, the medical babe gets an unflattering haircut, her long lost and found girlfriend seems to be a junky. The little kid and his walking staff, in a too-on-the nose scene, walks up to Sara, and conquers his fear - "Monster" Sara. Ok? The new resident bad boy in the bus eggs on the Walking Dead. Why?! Sara doesn't stay in the church basement as instructed by Sheriff Boyd and naturally wonders into Town From and drama, as stated above, ensues. Sheriff Boyd, like Jon Snow before him, is doing the wrong thing for the right reason and Town From hates him for it. The episode drags, scenes lag and Kevin's got the big sad while his Mama's mad about Sara did to Kevin's Dad. After all of that, the cliffhanger will not leave you wanting more. I love Harold Perrineau, the tech guy in the kitten shirt, the walking stick kid's Dad most episodes (he might be right about Town From being an experiment) and the man who's eternally a child due to being stuck in the horror that is Town From since childhood. I still like Sara. There's just some unexplainable calmness about her. Are we ever going to revisit Boyd's tree portal, old malnourished chained up man in the broke down tower, who knew his Wife, storyline? It was so good and it's gone. From better step up the atmospheric and supernatural horror and start answering questions or else fans of Season 1, like myself, will tune out and there won't be a Season 3.

Is this the decline?
Gradually declining to show anything interesting or new. The character on the bus has a vision of something bad about to happen. Yet his character now has nothing interesting going forward. All we have now is arguments after arguments.

What has happened to the horror in this show. It has become a boring drama all of a sudden.

What the heck is the plan going forward. What is happening to Boyd, his losing his mind, his seeing people. Are those worms in his arm real. Sara can't even explain to people why she did what she did. She is a fragile mess.

This episode gets a 2 star because Kenny did an ok job at being pissed off that Sara the useless, non defensive character isn't thrown in the box yet!

Yes, the worst episode yet. You can skip this one.
TomTchiboSeries28 May 2023
Oh my... I actually didn't even like the first season, and the finale was a mess - boring, and didn't provide any answers. I however continued to watch it since I like mystery horror genre and this is currently one of the rare ones.

Season two is, unfortunately, much worse than the first one. What even happened in these five episodes? Barely anything. The bus storyline and the characters that joined brought basically nothing. And this episode in particular is seriously the worst one yet. Nothing, absolutely nothing happened. It was so boring and pointless that you can skip this one and even the short recap in the beggining of the next episode.

One reviewer said, and I quote "You know a show is going badly when you keep checking how many minutes are left before an episode ends" - yes, my brother. I checked it after 20sh minutes, fully expected that it has been at least 35. It feels super slow and nothing is happening at the same time.

The Biggest Disappointment That Awaits You
timur-4887022 May 2023
The biggest disappointment that awaits you: the series is a dummy, dust, air, I don't know, call it what you want.

Each new episode is just blah blah blah and puff - nothing. Yes, even in the same LOST (legendary TV series, in fact) whoever said what, there was much more action, charismatic characters and atmosphere than in this pathetic parody.

A disgustingly long screensaver that does not cause any emotions (Again, in the same LOST, it is short, but memorable)

According to the authors of this "masterpiece", they have been coming up with mythology for a very long time, the skeleton of the series ... But something is hard to believe)) It feels like the script was written on the knee, on one or two...

How did they get there? What kind of tree? Who built the city and when? Who is the man in the photo with Victor?

Is this place a dream, an experiment, or purgatory? ))

There are so many questions that the authors will not answer even in season 1, and 2 too)) As a result, this is a fiasco. Then watch exclusively on rewind.

pantherua23 May 2023
My rating for this series was three out of ten, but after seeing home fans and drama enthusiasts who openly admit to inflating their ratings, I have decided to lower mine as well.

The series is filled with empty content that is impossible to watch without harming your brain. All couch-loving fans of prolonged dramas must possess rational thinking. If you are my friend who is still capable of self-reflection and, by some miracle, after 10 years of watching plotless dramas, remains sane, stop giving 10 out of 10 to everything and rationalizing mediocre episodes, thereby pleasing marketers. PLEASE.

Urgh. Annoying.
conniedavid27 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Let me start by saying I LOVED season 1. It felt like a lower budget version of Lost without the flashbacks (which while I didn't always love in Lost, I think this show could have really used them to flesh out the characters better). Every episode was intriguing, creepy, mysterious, and just fun.

This season started out well enough with the bus full of new people, new developments in what is possibly going on over there, etc... But as the episodes keep coming, they keep getting worse and worse with ep 5 just hitting an all time low in this series. Everyone yelling at Sarah was frustrating as hell. It's like everyone lost their common sense and just completely took all of their anger out on her in such an annoying manner. Did she kill people? Yes. But is she evil? No. Anyone can see she isn't actually evil or a psychopath. The place was just making her do thinks and think it is in the best interest of everyone (which hell, it might have even been right!). Ethan might actually be the villain and him being killed may have actually saved everyone. Who knows. But the better question is... Who cares?

They really need to pick things up, start giving some answers to some things and strengthen those characters more. Without flashbacks to really get a sense of who they were before getting to the town vs who they are now, it's really difficult to gain empathy for any of them or really care about whether they lived or died. Which is a problem in a show that relies on that character development to feel real and interesting.

Almost everyone was acting irrational in this episode and they were all just down right annoying. Every two seconds we see someone else yelling at Sarah and really letting us know how much they hate her. So much to a point of wanting to stick her in a box as weird zombie people food. I would have much rather seen them actually talk to her and try to understand her and why she did what she did.

All that being said, I hope this show picks up by the next episode and that it doesn't get cancelled because it really does have the potential to be great. We saw that first hand through the first season. While this was the worst episode of the season (and the entire series thus far), I still have hope that it will pick up and get back to being great.

Boring. Just boring.
antadrian29 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is the worst until now. Episode 4 was the worst until the episode 5 comes to show us endless discussions about nothing. Pointless drama around pointless ideas.

"Tell me about this" "oh, I don't want to" I can give you a candy Sing me a song better You tell first No, you sing first No.

OK, bye!

Oh... stay! Don't go! I will sing!

OK, but not here, let's go to show you nothing.

Oh, I'm tired!

Etc. Etc. Etc.

The hope is dying. Slowly, but surely.

I will stop following this serie. I have a bad feeling that this second season will not reveal the mysteries. And I prefer to kill my time with something else. Maybe reading a book. Any kind of book.

Why are we stalling
ethanfielder23 May 2023
I personally have really loved this show from the very first episode through I guess the first 3 of season 2. The last 2 episodes though are like 5% progression and 95% rehashing last season for no reason. I feel like there is plenty of content to be making progression towards, and I really worry that if they don't figure it out the show won't last very long and we will end up with a ton of filler and no finished product. I want to see where it goes but I'd rather watch 3 seasons that matter than say 7 seasons drawn out (which will never make it that far most likely) I'm hopeful that it will pick up.

Randall has rendered this show unwatchable
wmzcx25 June 2023
Prior to the introduction of Randall, I had this show at an 8 or 9. The only thing that kept it from a 10 was "from the producers of Lost" given how that turned out.

But then they have us Randall.

Mind you, Randall is a very realistic character - too realistic. Our world has become dominated by Randalls - bullying rage monsters who will take us all down with them - and there is absolutely nothing entertaining about watching them do their thing. Maybe he's a well-drawn version of this character, and maybe he's a well-performed version as well. But I see too much of his type in our news, our politics, in the grocery store checkout. No thanks.

I don't care if they plan a redemption arc (not possible with these types) or a comeuppance, I have zero interest in watching how they get there. I'm out.
