Episode 5

The fifth episode begins with Barrowman breaking down and realising his about his bullying ways.

With Remembrance Day approaching, Captain Gulliver is organising the activities but is also considering his future. Not knowing that his wife has made plans with Sergeant Butcher. Leaving for Australia.

Private Davies learns that his grandfather had died. He also finds out that he was awarded the Victoria Cross during the first world war. Only for White-Bowne to mock Davies that his grandfather must have been court-martialled, that is why the regiment still has his medals.

The series concludes by wrapping up several storylines. This includes the selection of the Tory candidate for the by election.

It also leaves a few others dangling and ends in a cliffhanger. One soldier turns out to be a red under the bed, another takes rejection badly.

Unfortunately there was not a second series for Privates. It was well made, suitable for a daytime slot but nothing that made it soar.
