Thrilling start to the finale!
and_mikkelsen30 March 2023
This was a great actionpacked way to start the finale! So far it looks like his finale won't dissapoint and might even surpass season 1, even though the destruction of Kamino was iconic!

My favorite part of the episode might be "the summit!" I actually have come to like the character of Dr. Hemlock as the VA does a great job of making him both creepy and intimidating! The discussion of clones captures the themes surrounding clones in this season perfectly, as well as the Clone Wars series! Nice Rogue One cameo and tease for whats to come later!

The action was great and great direction! Makes it fun to watch! I also have to praise the soundtrack! Gives off intense vibes at times!

Ending makes me wanna watch the next episode right away!

Leading into the finale quite well

Warning: Spoilers
In The Summit, our heroes plan an infiltration mission in order to plan a tracking beacon in order to follow the Empire back to their base. Things don't go as planned and it was awesome seeing Orson Krennic and Saw Gerrera back. Some little Rogue One vibes, as there is a summit, or a meeting if you want. The cinematography is excellent, as well as the subtle foreshadowing including a gorgeous shot of sliding wagons, in which we end the episode.

Gotta say this episode felt like a classic Star Wars mission, aboard a ship, and there's some stealth and head on encounters and everything. The pacing is great. It felt very much like a part 1 though, which isn't a bad thing, but makes the episode incomplete.

A great penultimate episode

Warning: Spoilers
The Bad Batch goes to an Imperial facility to get intel on Clone Troopers and where they're being held. What ensues has some twists and turns. Saw Gerrera is there with a different objective: blow up the base.

The Imperial meeting was one of my favorite moments in this episode. I have always loved the intrigue those kinds of conversations bring. The demise of the Clones is going to be made sure soon if their plans hold up.

Also, Krennic?? Stardust?? That was a cool tie in.

By the end of the episode, the Batch is in deep peril. I'm glad they released both episodes at once.

Overall, a good lead in to the finale.

Sum it up

Warning: Spoilers
A pretty great episode of The Bad Batch and a pretty entertaining chapter for Star Wars television as well.

It had great tension, a really solid cliffhanger, some really good build-up to the finale, and actual stakes. Where were said stakes in the earlier episodes of this season? Dr. Hemlock is such a great villain. It was nice seeing Director Krennic too. That was unexpected. I'm not totally sure why they were having a meeting about Project Stardust there though? With those specific individuals? Not a flaw, just something I'm wondering about.

It also has the best action in the season as well. The shoot-outs, monorails and surprise cameo from Saw were really well executed. It probably goes without saying the animation and voice work are still top notch.

Really good.

An enjoyable start to the finale

Warning: Spoilers
So I have finally come back to this show to finish season two and part 1 of the finale is good stuff. The gang go to a big time imperial meeting to help find where Crosshair is being kept. It's a fun and well paced action with them sneaking into the base and planting a tracking device. Saw Gerrera coming into the episode was a surprise and raised the stakes somewhat. The hint at a romance between Tech and Phee seemed kinda out of nowhere and a bit odd. While it was cool to see Tarkin, Krennic, and all the other top Impreials, it didn't feel like it added much to the episode considering we knew they'd all survive this encounter. This was a good set up, let's see if the finale delivers.

It's ok

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is mostly just ok. Nothing screams excellence for the most part, and it's a relatively basic covert mission.

The only thing that really sets this episode apart from others is Tech's death, and in of itself, yeah it's pretty good. But how much do we really know or understand about Tech? Almost nothing. Two seasons and the most character development we've had for him is that one scene with Omega. Pretty damn disappointing and definitely takes alot of the kick out of his character death. This season has really wasted almost every chance to characterize this squad, but for some reason it thinks it has the ability to make payoffs for character stories that were abbreviated beyond the point of Spark Notes.

The Meh Batch rides again
Badger121030 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
What I liked: music and animation are fantastic and high stakes story with dire consequences.

What I disliked: the team fails again, how many does this make this season? Omega is a terrible character who shouldn't be on any mission let alone with the team and that laser bow thing is just dumb, almost as bad as a laser slingshot. Some might say, oh but she is a child and you are right, she is until they want her to suddenly be good at something then she is an expert.

Also, this show doesn't even remember history, star dust isn't the project for the death star, it was a subproject and their Remember Berries the writers gave was only to tickle our brains and include Crenec.

I am done with the Mandalorian and I am done with this show and I am done with Disney Star Wars.
