The Shadow of Bigfoot: A bit of a mess
Platypuschow15 May 2018
The Shadow of Bigfoot tells the story of a Sasquatch hunter who has given 25yrs of his life to the pursuit of the elusive creature and has become obsessed with it. He loses his job, is mocked by his rival and with his scientist friend and a cameraman in tow ventures into the forest once again.

It doesn't go quite the way you'd imagine, if it had it'd probably have been better.

All set during daytime (Which is unusual) and with no actual viewing of the Bigfoot (Shocker) it's not that it's boring as it does remain interesting it simply isn't very good.

Not only do you never see anything but early in the movie the accents are bizzare and laughable. Several people seem to be trying to be American, it sounds forced and they keep dropping the accent altogether.

British made this is within a sub-genre that I want to like but always seem to dislike. I think it's because it's usually picked up by parties who don't have the budget to deliver and this is a prime example of that.

The Good:

Flows relatively well

The Bad:

Accents are an absolute joke

Nope you do not see Bigfoot

Things I Learnt From This Movie:

The plural for Bigfoot is Bigfoots

Bigfoots sound suspiciously like wolves

Crap like this ought to be illegal!

I'm no expert but I really wouldn't recommend this one, it's plain grim. This was one of the worst excuses of a Bigfoot movie I ever saw in my life, and I've seen Bigfoot Vs Zombies! It was just all wrong, the camerawork made everything look so cheap and bland because they filmed it with ugly all-natural light, there was the mumbling actors who didn't even seem like characters in a movie but more like the ordinary everyday folk you'd get in the street, but in a bad unappealing way, who were just over dramatically blurting out horrible lines, all around the acting on display was on par with what you get on those weird African network free channels, and oh my god the attempts at American accents were so bad, the British tone kept creeping back in at the end of every sentence and it was so distracting, and if those were locations from the States I'll eat my hat, I know my lovably-soggy grey homeland when I see it! Seriously nearly all of this 'movie' was downright unwatchable, and it certainly isn't something that could be enjoyed on the level that it's so cheesy and terrible that it becomes funny, it doesn't even have that, it's as flat and dull as a bad community stage play from the get go. Some shot on video stuff can be awesomely entertaining in a way that defies the lack of budget sometimes, but this isn't one of those occasions, this is barely a notch above being someone's home movie! If it had been made by an 8 year old I'd say "that's cute", it's that bad! The only time I did think it picked up a little and started showing a little atmosphere was when they went into the woods, and that was just due to the natural ambiance of the wilderness, nothing to do with the actors. I actually liked how they never showed any clear images of a Sasquatch, just silhouettes and quick shadows, while I've no doubt the mystery was budgetary-related, it was one of the very few things that worked in this picture's favour. This had no charm or style whatsoever and I really wouldn't waste your time, there are many more worthwhile Bigfoot flicks out there to enjoy. Skip this Big turkey, it is not a good time and no fooling! X
