I'm so severely happy that this episode was better than last week. The editors utilized their time in a much more worthwhile way. However - a better episode doesn't mean a fantastic episode. Just much better!
We didn't start off great. Once again, we are focusing on the same interpersonal issue as last week. This wouldn't be a problem in a season with 90 minutes but in 40, it feels like it's wasting time again. We get maybe 5-7 minutes of behind the scene challenge time which often make for some of the more fun bits of TV to watch; it's fun to see the girls make their challenge director(s) laugh and we didn't get much of that this episode.
The runway was a far reach above last week. It seems like everyone genuinely got the ask even if they didn't 100% meet the challenge and we actually got a worthwhile amount of fun quips from the queens and the judges during the runway.
I'll admit, I didn't initially get that they were trying to do a Tim and Eric spin on the challenge at first and I really do like their style of funny. Once I knew, I rewatched the bit again and it was MUCH funnier! I'm not sure if it didn't 100% translate due to a genuine slight miss for the writers, producers, and editors (it was good but certainly not a bullseye) or if it was another victim of the 40 minute edit. Who knows. I'm just glad this episode was as decent as it was & I hope we're only going to go up from here.
