Yesssss babyyyyyy!!!! Back on form!!!! This has been the best sunny episode in a while. They had a connection to previous plot lines. They had Cricket! Uncle Jack! Yessss babyyyyyy. This is what I watch Sunny for. This season is shaping up to be the season of comebacks. I would love it if most of the future Sunny shines a light brighter on the Side characters becoming even more integral to the gang. That would be bliss and it could help keep pushing them through writing the episodes. I as a fan cannot wait for the McPoyle's to come back, and oh boy when they're here it's gonna get groovy...

So far of the last 5 seasons (not including this one) I would rank it:

12, 11, 13, 14, 15.

Could pass as a classic episode

This is yet another banger from season 16. Not too gimmicky or anything, just an episode full of funny jokes, scenes, recurring characters, running jokes, and the like. Happy to see cricket again. Speaking of, David Hornsby's writing definitely makes for better episodes. All of the characters have moments to shine, and I can't think of anything to complain about.

My only disappointment was that the "Bar Rescue" thing didn't become an actual episode, because that would've been a great opportunity. All 3 main plots in this one are good. One of those episodes when the gang comes together as a diabolical group of friends and works their magic. Keep 'em coming!

Boys are back in town!

Classic Sunny right there. Many good laughs, clever ending, callbacks to older episodes, it has it all.

They opened up with the classic opposite of what they say title card which is something I love. They went pretty extreme on this epsiode, Dennis kinda confirming he murdered maureen, gang hiding dead animals around the bar, Mac lying about his dying son, the gang burying Maureen in a pet cemetry... It all just felt right. They totaly nailed this one. Only thing I would add is something horrible hapening to Cricket, he somehow got away safely on this episode.

Overall I liked this episode much more than the first 2. I hope they keep bringing it on for the upcoming ones.

Classic Sunny

I think this is going to be a "classic" episode, honestly had great humour all around and the entire episode felt great.

Lots of side characters but they had them on for just the right amount, great jokes and gags also many callbacks to previous episodes.

I'm not sure how else to really describe it without spoiling, but I really think this is just the beginning, so far S16 has had a great first episode, solid second episode, and now an amazing third episode, really feels like the show is back in form from the bumpy rides that were s13/s14.

Not that they were bad, just had a couple of duds whereas usual even the "worst" episode in a season would be "good" .

If it's Hornsby it usually ends up being a classic.

Just like his cousin Bruce Mr. David Hornsby returns to form in another classically written episode. Personally I thought season 15 was a bit on the weaker side although it started out strong it ended with a bit of a dud. Season 16 so far feels like a return to form and the return of cricket after an absence from last season.

But, if you see that David Hornsby has written an episode you should get ready to laugh and put it in the classic episodes list. I have yet to see an episode of ALways sunny written by David that misses. That is a tall order considering the show has been on for 16 years.

Episode 1603

It was great to see Cricket pop this early and bring some of the Mythic Quest chemistry with Mac to this show. It was better than some of his past episodes, but definitely not a classic by any stretch.

The Chase Utley bit felt a little bit awkward and he will not be winning any awards for best guest star from the celebrity world on a sitcom, that is for sure. Certainly no Keith Hernandez on Seinfeld, that's for sure.

There were some funny moments in this one though and I feel like this season is off to a better start than where Sunny was just a few years ago, so it is not all bad at this juncture.

Best episode so far

Absolutely hilarious from beginning to end. I had multiple laugh out loud moments which is rare for one episode of a TV show to accomplish.

Dennis and Charlie fretting over not being able to workout before the reality bar show, Frank slowly walking up to the seagull before whipping a bat out and trying to bash it, Dennis threatening to paralyze the other side of Dee's face, Macs strange accent developing around Chase Utley, Cricket and his "boy-toy", how quickly all of these curses that the whole gang was worried about get dropped over a simple revelation: All hilarious.

And man, Cricket just shines in this episode! His conversation about picking a lane between superstition and God with Mac in the van was pure gold. And him telling Mac that calling him a pimp with a male prostitute following him around was "oversimplifying".

Really my only criticism of this episode is that it isn't longer. Even though they managed to cram so much in one episode the run time still feels really short. Maybe because they're bouncing between so may side plots in the middle section? I'm not really sure.

This is the best episode of season 16 so far and I can't wait for the rest!

Was laughing trough the whole thing

Amazing episode. Don't understand why it is rated the lowest of the season. I enjoyed this one the most so far and was laughing through the whole thing.

I liked the previous ones as well and had some laughs, but jokes in this one landed much more often. And it was really great to see so many returning side characters.

I was worried about the baseball player cameo, but even that was handled perfectly was hilarious, and a nice payoff for Mac's long-lasting obsession. And I usually don't find these cameos funny or interesting, since I don't know any of those people.

Cricket killed it both in acting and in writing.

I'll make your dreams come true.

So I gave the Rat episode a 2 and I still feel bad but it's ok "Boggs didn't hit it out of the park everytime". I started thinking, which was my favorite episode so far this season? It has to be The Cursed.

The most popular review says they were laughing the whole time and that is exactly how I felt. I listen to Sunny in the background all the time so when I actually watch it, I really notice the acting. This was well done, funny and consistently hit so many Always marks. Na, it wasn't perfect but they figured out what I wanted most and gave it to me.

Right now, this is the lowest rated episode of the season and I think it is probably the best so far. There's your rant.

mac used to be funny

Not a smirk, no laugh, no giggle..nothing from me the entire episode.

This whole season Mac has been...different. They do joke about gays. But not in the way they used to. Not that i care about those jokes. But Mac used to be very funny. And now he is a shadow of his former self. Is it the writing..? It feels like the acting and delivery. But it might be the writing.

There were so many moments in this episode where i thought the joke was going to go 1 step further and be hilarious. Instead it just ends there and they move on. No laugh from me. And then it just ends..without a anything. What,,,

No real story

The pace is so off here, it takes forever to get anywhere and each character is split into their own thing and it never feels coherent. Just really repetitive with no real payoff. It's like it never decided if it wanted to be a cricket episode, a gang montage episode or a Mac disappointment episode, and as a result it's just not as engaging. I wish we will get an episode where cricket thinks he might be cursed and tries to get rid of it. Even if he cursed the entire gang and they deal with it. But why split them up like this?

After the first 2 great episodes I wish it'll get back to greatness.

Not their best

Show seemed off somehow..felt like they were trying too hard to get laughs but jokes weren't landing ;) Anyone notice the following?:

1) they used the F word and C word..they don't usually go there

2) Frank actually killed a bird with a baseball bat - 1st time they've actually killed something

3)They recycled a lot of jokes - Charlie's mom screaming out..Uncle Jack touching Charlie's arm, Chase Utley joke..Frank flirting w/Charlie's mom..Dee playing video games..

Meh..this was a mess. It was hard to like the characters - sweet Dee called her neighbor the C word for really no reason..Frank killed the bird for no reason..this makes them unlovable.
