Unwatchable Z grade garbage
dworldeater19 January 2016
Homicycle is intended to be a parody of the ultra violent and sleazy grindhouse action movies like they used to make them in the good ole' days. I am a big fan of that stuff and I found this "movie", if you can call it that, an unwatchable piece of trash. Two things about this are obvious. First, there was no money to spend on this production. Second, there was no effort to take this seriously or make this good at all. I'll be the first to admit that I enjoy the hell out of some really bad movies. So, not only is this movie bad. It is about as fun as getting a root canal, but twice as painful. The film does pull off looking like a grainy VHS tape.(which I think was intended) Homicycle does look like the worst quality of this genre of movie. Think of those 50 movie DVD dump bins that you can get in the cut out bin for a dollar and you might be close to what the people who made this are going for, or the quality of the movie that I am discussing. It does pull off looking like this took place somewhere on the mean streets of the 1980's, even playing some kick ass heavy metal to boot. That is about all I can say positive about this pile of crap. The film in question looks like it was some high school kid's visual communications project, with the worst f/x, acting(?) and storytelling I have seen. Our main villain is one of the lamest and most unconvincing, a cross dressing, murderous , dope slinging pimp that looks like Dorothy from The Golden Girls. No offense to The Golden Girls, I enjoy that show. Homicyle, however is complete crap and I would advise anyone that would like to see this sort of thing done well, to watch Hobo With A Shotgun instead, of which when compared to this is a huge, expensive and epic production.

Homicycle
Scarecrow-8828 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Well, the title sure is something, eh? Too bad the movie reeks. The opening kill scene actually closes the film, there's a lengthy "intermission" middle stoppage where drive-in advertisements of the day go on and on until we are mercilessly returned to the bad puns, wretched performances, crude special effects, and underwhelming murder sequences. The folks populating this exercise in futility (I recognize the noble attempt to homage the exploitation films of old) seemed to have come from a Lloyd Kaufman/Michael Herz casting call. The film has that garish look of a Ryan Nicholson product, where characters like Axel, Scary, Diesel, and Chains are the circle of dirtbags the kingpin (played putridly by Whittaker) keeps around to muscle victims who have the misfortune of coming under his target. The undead cop who was shot in the face by the kingpin after the circle of dirtbags pummel him just for the hell of it rises from the grave to get revenge on those responsible for his demise. His wife, a cop as well, wants justice for her man, but the kingpin knows the right people and gets away with the crime. So the resurrected cop gears up in biker coat, helmet, gloves, and motorcycle, meting out proper justice, vigilante-style, to the kingpin and his droogs. His wife, meanwhile, finds that law enforcement is unable to get the justice for her husband he so richly deserves, confronting the kingpin to give him a piece of her mind (insults do little to phase someone so purposely vile). No matter how many are under the kingpin's employ, the biker won't be quelled in his pursuit of murderous revenge. I wish the film could have succeeded in bringing a reasonably fun plot to better life, but this is all dead on arrival.

Campy, Early 80's Style B-Movie
sellzmktng0122 September 2015
If you have ever seen movies like The Exterminator, Corpse Grinders or Warrior of the Lost World, well, they're better in the sense that they were 'serious' story lines. This is not. This is more like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

Essentially, a mysterious guy (or girl) on an old purple Honda Shadow, dressed in black, goes around killing bad people.

I'm not sure why the director went with filming in an old, cheesy Technicolor fashion except for the fact that it's sort of a spoof movie and intended to be funny, while still providing some blood spatter.

A three could be considered generous, but the bad acting and corniness was intentional, and it seemed like everyone had a good time making it. I would have said a 2.5 but that option isn't available. Not something I would buy for my collection, but as a horror film buff I found it a good rainy Sunday flick to skim through.

turd

This movie is a huge turd. the film maker obviously tried to make a low budget retro looking movie but failed completely and is trying to pass it off as a parody or a joke, well it fails at that too. it is an awful movie with zero budget, bad acting, no writing or story to speak of, awful editing, it is just frustrating to sit through even if you skip through most of it like we ended up doing. like i said it is not even the kind of bad cheesy movie you can still enjoy by laughing at it it was just bad. i'm sorry i wasted the bandwidth on downloading this turd.

the only decent part is in the middle when they pad the screen time to show drive in movie ads because they are at least short and somewhat interesting/entertaining.

cool poster but don't waste your time on this unfunny stupid garbage bin movie.

An attempt at a homage that should have stayed in the toilet
mhorg201830 June 2018
A horrible film from every angle. Story - Bad (it's kind of a rip of Charlie Sheen's Wraith), Acting - beyond bad. SFX - Cheap and bad. (It's as bad as anything made by the Asylum). Kind of like a haunted Robocop, it gives no explanation (not even a bad one) for the creation of it's spirit-killer, is done to look like a retro 70's Grindhouse flick and worst of all, fifteen minutes (felt like fifteen HOURS) of the middle is filled with ancient ads for movie theater and drive in snacks. Really, how can I get back the 75 minutes of my life this movie robbed? Need that spirit to show up and take care of the people behind this loser.

Awesome for what it is!

Warning: Spoilers
Homicycle is a campy old-fashioned B-movie, with a mysterious undead avenger going after those complicit in his death. The plot is pretty simple and straightforward, but boy does this movie have style! Each villain looks like they have a story or two they're eager to tell - yet the protagonist doesn't give them a chance, teaching a gory lesson in brutality alongside a fantastic score that fits the movie just dandy! All in all, this movie is not for everybody. If you like campy 80ies stuff, you're in for a treat - this is as good a tribute as it gets! Otherwise - just skip it.

Motorcycle Mayhem
jackwolff-0645714 February 2023
The people that made this obviously were wanting to pay homage to campy '80s movies. So if you're into those then I think you'll dig this. Just shut off your brain and have a good time. I would have rather had more mayhem than the intermission but it does add to the old school feel.

This movie is badass! There's some cool death scenes as long as you're fine with obvious low budget gore effects but it just adds to the low budget charm of the movie! This combines the revenge plot of The Wraith with camp of Nail Gun massacre(there's one kill that pays homage). Throw in some so bad it's good dialogue, A grindhouse aesthetic with a killer soundtrack! And you're in for one hell of a ride!
