Oh joy, it's back. Thanks so very much ITV. Was there really nothing, anything better you could have filled this timeslot with? I do mean anything. Paint drying maybe?
The only 'novelty' is a rare sighting of Holly Willoughby after her personal struggles, and the fact that we now have the ever great (if overused) Steven Mulhern as her new co-host after Phil Schofield had his own issues.
And it's Mulhern who elevates this very tired and long since its best show, with the main reason being that he hasn't spouted the same corny 'jokes' and tedious exposition about the show for so many years prior. He seems engaged in it all, and not on autopilot.
The problem he'll learn though is that this show is a dud. It's a format that's long run its race, and now makes do with 'celebs' with axes to grind (S Club's Hannah) and people who seem to have forgotten all about their previous dance experience on Strictly (hi Greg).
Poor you Steven, that enthusiasm won't last long.
