Did they or didn't they breakup is the storyline for the episode.

Warning: Spoilers
After last week's make out session in front of the main cast, and Sadie's lackey, we watch as everyone tries to figure whether Jenna and Matty are done; as if after all your friends seeing your girlfriend make out with someone there is a chance to get back together. Anyway, everyone at the party gives their perspective from Ming, Tamara, Jake, Henry, Clark and then Lissa, though not in that specific order. Each part ranges from sensible to sounding embellished, or strictly made for the sake of comedy. Some examples include a reveal that Lacey likes to present herself as a cook by doing dumb things like putting already made cupcakes in the oven; Valerie being prejudice against Henry; Clark in general; and poor Lissa who I still wish was written off ages ago.

But perhaps one of my favorite parts of the episode was Sadie's role. Now, naturally Jenna did not invite her to her birthday party, but she does appear as everyone gives their perspective on whether Matty and Jenna are done. Her appearance gives the story of what happened after Matty left, and what he did was go to her. Mind you, not in a "I should have been with you" type of way, but more so to re-establish the two are friends and that really she is probably more a stable friend, and reliable one, than everyone else on the show. After all, Matty sees his girlfriend kissing another guy and Jake, his best friend, goes outside to text Tamara painting the picture that the relationship comes before his old buddy. Tamara though isn't as crappy of a best friend for as she spots the aftermath of the kiss with Colin and Matty leaving, and Jenna trying to apologize to Matty, she breaks Colin's nose. Of course it was partly selfish since she wanted to keep the best friend relationship thing going, I forgot the acronym, but I'm sure the punch was for Jenna as well.

Overall, the storyline largely was quite good, but one issue I must mention is the drama didn't match the comedy and considering the drama was the foundation for the comedy, it seemed off. Jenna was her usual self when it came to dealing with drama, meaning it wasn't necessarily award winning but good enough, and then there was Matty. For whatever reason, the camera focuses on Matty, after his breakup talk with Jenna, a bit too long and I was left unsure if Beau Mirchoff, who plays Matty, was frustrated because he was in character or because he was trying to force himself to cry but couldn't. Either way, it was a good episode to end the Matty saga done. Now the question becomes: Will Jenna now move toward her and Colin being in a relationship, or take some time to just be single for awhile? I must admit, between Sadie and Tamara, I would love to hear what they would have to say is Jenna got with Colin since I can only imagine the dialog for being with the person you cheated with.
