Yes and No
dorMancyx26 February 2024
The Mugen Train used to be one of my most anticipated movies of 2020, and the Demon Slayer manga has been a great part of my quarantine life. However, I have to say that this film is quite perfunctorily made. Most of the dialogues spend 15 minutes conveying emotions and information that could've been condensed into 3 minutes. Such pacing certainly works for a season-long anime so that you get the most out of each character, but is excessive to the point of tedious for an adapted screenplay. Additionally, the movie focuses on the transition period from season 3 to the Hashira Training Arc, which seems like unnecessary work since it's not an independent story like the Mugen Train. Instead of spending so much time explaining the context, why not make a film about the actual Hashira Training? Aside from the complaints, all the action sequences are spot-on as expected. The segment where the Wind and Serpent Hashira explored the mansion is perfect in length and smoothly animated, and seeing their breathing styles in motion is all I could ask for as a manga reader. Though I'm all for the Infinity Castle Arc to come as soon as possible, I'd ask that Ufotable take as much time as needed to perfect the animation. As a former global phenomenon, Demon Slayer deserves a proper end.

A Filler Movie
RegalsReelView23 February 2024
Tanjiro and his friends saved the swordsmith village and defeated two upper-ranked demons. While Tanjio is recovering, the Hashira are meeting to discuss Nezuko's recent ability to withstand the sun and Muzan's next move.

This movie is the next part in the Demon Slayer series and takes place right after the Swordsmith Village Arc. Unlike the Mugen Train movie, this one is more of a filler. The movie spends the majority of the runtime recapping the Swordsmith Village Arc. The remaining runtime does not expand too much on the story, and by the end, it is just a setup for the next arc. The movie is worth a stream for diehard fans and completionists, but it can be skipped for casual fans.

Not really a movie but still nice
Jithindurden25 February 2024
The "movie" began with kind of a recap from the beginning and then showed the title of the movie, unlike the previous movie which basically started with the opening song of that episode. So even though then it proceeded with the last episode of the last season, it fooled me into thinking this time they have made a minimum effort to edit it as a movie properly. But no, taking almost an hour to finish up showing everything we've already seen, it started with the title and credits for the next season. Why can't they put in even that much effort?

The visuals and the story and characters that I'm already invested in made it a nice watch but it clearly not targeted to be played in theaters did affect my experience. At least the previous movie had a lot of great visual set pieces to present. Here it's more or less an emotional season finale and a lot of setting up for the next season for which there's not much to gain as a movie. It is so not meant to be a movie. But I can't help really like it because of how much I'm invested in it. The emotions do work big time even if they push it to your face a bit too much. Watching it with a houseful crowd is certainly a good experience even if it can't be really called a movie.

A lot of filling
Jonas64_Reviews23 February 2024
I felt like it strayed from the main plot quite a few times, it also felt like I had spent an eternity watching the movie, I would have preferred it to have been a season/arc than a movie.

I'm not that much of an anime fan, but I watch it for my sister.

I had hopes that it would be a really good movie compared to the other one (which are wonderful) But the only thing I saw was filler and more filler and then it went back to the main plot and it deviated again, it came back and the movie was over, Personally, I felt it was a waste of time and money.

But hey, it's my opinion about this movie, if you have another opinion that's fine, but this is my opinion.

"Kimetsu no Yaiba Kizuna no Kiseki, Soshite Hashira Geiko e" is not a masterpiece, its script is simple but its animation is worth it.
jp_9125 February 2024
"Kimetsu no Yaiba Kizuna no Kiseki, Soshite Hashira Geiko e" is the new film based on the manga and anime, a film whose animation is incredible but the script does not tell the viewer much, this is due to the union of a couple of broadcast episodes in the anime and that are presented as a new cinematographic installment, therefore, the editing usually gives confusing scenes and the story at one point in the film seems to have no reason to exist as such, becoming repetitive and incoherent, especially if you do not fully know the anime episodes and the idea behind putting a couple of episodes together as a "new" movie. "Kimetsu no Yaiba Kizuna no Kiseki, Soshite Hashira Geiko e" is not a masterpiece, its script is simple but its animation is worth it.

People have no idea they are talking about
gw-5459722 February 2024
I am getting really frustrated from all of the 1 star reviews on what you guys think of the so called 'movie'. It isn't supposed to be a full on movie, yet people are calling it a 'scam' for absolutely no reason. There has been MULTIPLE teasers/trailers for the last 3 months CLEARLY stating that the movie will include the last episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc, along with the first episode of the new Hashira Training Arc. Nowhere did it say that is would be a full movie including 100% new content. This is supposed to be a fan event with special screenings of the new episodes no one has watched yet.

Do your research before going in the movie theaters mindlessly, having no idea of what to expect, then calling the movie a scam. If you had literally watched ANY trailer for this, you would of known.

One other thing I had to add was that these peoples' reviews have absolutely nothing to do with the rating new content, overriding it with a 1 star review because it was a 'scam'.

Didn't meet my expectations
samikon-2771622 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was a mediocre experience. The first half was a recap, what i liked about it was that it summed up the plot of all of the previous seasons in cca 10 minutes. What i did not like was the unnecesarily long recap of the last fight in swordsmith village arc. I lived through the first half mainly because of the stunning animation. The second half was a LOT better. I absolutely loved the start of it. Dynamic, lore expandic, great animation. The plot of this movie seemed good to me as I didn't know what to expect. I was a little bit dissapointed that they didn't show more of the hashira training because it was in the name of the movie. I cannot say i liked it neither disliked it. NOTE: This is coming from a guy who seen the whole anime, for someone who hadn't seen the anime, this would be probably a great sum up movie.

Fans vs Reading Comprehension
Manjirou25 February 2024
If you are a huge fan of Demon Slayer, and want to see it on the big screen - a theater experience, then this is something you might want to watch. If you casually follow Demon Slayer, you probably shouldn't see this.

As literally EVERY SINGLE PIECE of advertisement and marketing information has thoroughly explained EXACTLY what this movie would be showing, there is absolutely zero reason for anyone to be surprised or feel "scammed" by what they saw.

This movie covers a short 5 minute recap of every season thus far, with the ending theme to each subsequent season playing over it; followed by Episode 11 of the Swordsmith Village Arc. The movie then finishes with the 1st Episode of the Hashira Training Arc - an early screening for a season that won't be out until Spring.

How exactly are people deciding to watch this movie without understanding the chronology of the anime? How are you not watching trailers or reading a simple excerpt from an article - or the literal movie description? You're upset that you're rewatching content you've already seen, yet it could just as likely be the case that you've skipped content and just got spoiled by watching this movie since you've failed to even check what the movie is about.

Please do yourselves a favor and utilize, at the very least, the tiniest bit of brain power you can muster, so that 1) You don't waste your precious time and money on a product you don't like, and 2) I don't lose brain cells having to read through these 1-star, angry reviews that shouldn't exist in the first place.

Media literacy. Learn it.

🌞 It Was a Solid Sit-down at the Cinema 🎥
Just Got out of a Screening of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - To the Hashira Training

I don't know Anything About this, but it's been a Slow Weekend in the Cinema and I'm Eagerly Awaiting Dune 2 to be Released and after i watched that Absolute Joke that is Madame Web and the Snoozefest Anyone But You. I needed another Sit-down.

I liked it and Even though it's Episodic, from what I can Tell, the Characters and Lore are Really Good, here's what I liked -

  • The Concept of This Demon Corps Hunting Down and Eliminating Demons.

  • The Battles And Different Shots, Angles and Lighting were Great To Watch at Times.

  • The Different Characters and Their Training Speciality.

1.🍃 Mist - Movement Training.

2. 💓 Love - Flexibility Training.

3. ⛎ Serpent - Sword Skill.

4. 🌾 Wind - Looked Like the Trainees were just Getting Whooped.

5. 🌜 Stone - Muscle Training.

My Favourite Part of the Entire Watch was this -

  • One of the Plotlines of this Certain Powerful Character Who is Now Actively Looking for this Girl who has Somehow Conquered the Devastating Effects of the Sun.

Overall, I Enjoyed it.

A money collecting project
nour_xp300022 February 2024
Very bad movie cut. The movie is 1h 44m. 44m are recaps of previous events including the full last 2 episodes in sword smith arc. The remaining hour is full of fillers no fights no important events at all. I recommend not to watch it in cinema, wait for the anime release.

The movie is frustrating with a very long introduction. I finished my large popcorn before any new scenes or events.

I do not get why are there so many fillers with no events at all? It was boring with very poor writing.

How can the main character stay in bed the whole arc. Why is it converted into a movie in the first place. What a disappointment..

Idk why people are feeling scammed
devilsrejexxts24 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I get it the movie does take awhile and I do mean awhile for the recap to finish... I didn't need a season 1,2,3,4 introduction followed by the last 30min of swordsmith village ... that was probably the hardest part to wait because as always we want new content!!! But in return it was amazing if you read the manga this had to be done in order to fill in gap between the training and the final conflict in the mansion .... So I don't understand why people feel scammed it even was reported early on that the movie was gonna be a a recap as well as a feature so the last season will focus mainly on the main plot ... which was a great move ....

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - To the Hashira Training
CinemaSerf2 March 2024
Now it's probably my fault, but I should have remembered after watching "Swordsmith Village" last March that this isn't a film at all, but the tail episode of a series (I hadn't seen) used to introduce the first episode of a new season (which I won't watch either) and so it didn't really make much sense. The ongoing training of "Tanjiro" as he seeks to become Hashira is mixed in with the continuing search for "Nezuko" and "Ubuyashiki" by the increasingly frustrated "Muzan". As with any serialisation, each episode is just a conduit to the next, so this film delivers very little by way of plot development. A tiny bit of closure is soon subsumed into an whole new set of challenges that will beset them as the next slew of episodes follow. Sadly, that means there's precious little story for us to get our teeth into and so we are really just left with some stylish and accomplished animation that we have all seen many, many, times before. As with last time, they didn't even bother to sew the episodes together properly, we get a credit roller amidst the thing. There are loads of interesting characters here but this film relies way too heavily on your having followed the strand elsewhere. As a stand alone piece of cinema, it's watchable, but pretty meaningless.

Does not deserve to be a movie
nikolavukosavljevic-6089122 February 2024
This movie is half a recap and the other half is just exposition. The training arc was never worth making a movie I was curious because it had a long runtime and now I know why (half of the movie is reused footage from the end of the last season which everyone would have already seen). Do yourself a favour and wait for this to release as episodes and save your money. While the animation is great as always there is no real plot as there was in the previous movie. It is all set up and then the movie suddenly ends randomly. It had me and my friends laughing because we could not believe that this was real.

Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Train is a fun kick-off to the upcoming Demon Slayer series, featuring elite animation and character evolution
kevin_robbins24 February 2024
My daughter and I recently watched Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Train (2024) in theaters. The storyline follows brother and sister demon slayers Tanjiro and Nezuko, who encounter a demon that helps unveil new powers for Nezuko. A super demon, envious of Nezuko's abilities, hunts them down to steal these powers. We also get introduced to the Hashira Demon Slayers core, witness their powers, and they're sure to play a role in current events.

Directed by Haruo Sotozaki (Demon Slayer series), the animation and action scenes are absolutely elite. The first-person perspective in the run scenes felt three-dimensional, and many action scenes are captivating and impressive. The depiction of melting skin, display of powers, and cut scenes are brilliantly done. The demons and gore add to the overall experience, and the character interactions are magical, blending some nice comedy into the circumstances. While I'm still uncertain about loving the villain, I'm eager to see where the story goes. I do wish these movies weren't open-ended and essentially previews for upcoming series.

In conclusion, Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Train is a fun kick-off to the upcoming Demon Slayer series, featuring elite animation and character evolution. I would score this a 7/10 and recommend waiting for the entire series to be released.

Good but does not deserve to be a movie
AaronArenasR25 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I completely understand why fans say this is a movie for fans only, but that's not true, since this for theatres it's for everyone (even if you are not following the whole story).

It starts good with action sequences as a movie of this type should be, I'm not against of parts of much talk, but slowly becomes in just another episode more where this talkative parts are.

First scene shows a race to hunt a demon where the 3D can be seen very well, and that is the only part adapted to cinema that I found, other than that is another episode.

Good script, continues with the same plot, however I expected something more of the "season finale" style, an epic fight. I don't think it deserves to be a movie.

Your own fault
haydaywallace23 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
If you didn't know that this was a half recap half welcome to the new season "movie" then that's on you for not doing your own research. The introduction to the swordsmith village arc did the exact same thing with entertainment district so there's no reason this should be a surprise. It was nice to get to see the ending of the last season in the theater. I'm an anime only enjoyer but I have heard a small bit about what's to come and I know that this next arc is not very long so I hope we don't get a 6-7 episode season when they maybe could've rolled it into this movie and cut out the recap. My rating is for the 45 ish minutes of "episode 1" hashira training arc. There is a lot of information and overall it's kinda slow. But it's not pointless talking. It's setting up what's to come very nicely.

A good start?
ethandragonfire2 March 2024
If you're a devoted fan of 'Demon Slayer,' the latest developments will resonate deeply with you, as they encapsulate all the elements that define the series. The journey into episode 11 and the onset of season 4 marks a pivotal moment that many have eagerly anticipated. This transition is not merely a progression in the storyline but a deep dive into the core of what makes 'Demon Slayer' so captivating. The series masterfully blends its thematic essence-comprising of relentless courage, the significance of bonds, and the perpetual struggle between good and evil-into these episodes. Particularly, the start of season 4 is where the narrative truly begins to unfold in complexity, offering the 'meat of the cake,' so to speak. Fans yearning for the series to delve into more substantive content will find their patience rewarded.

Watch it!
sharmavardhan25 February 2024
I am genuinely quite surprised at the reaction. I read some articles about what to expect in the movie so I already knew there was going to be a good element of just recap. The recap itself was great because the last season was great.

I also know there is an ongoing criticism about lack of new content. This was obvious though, this wasn't a movie like mugen train. There was indeed enough new content and it set a very good platform for the next season.

The biggest point however is that we are seeing some of the best fights in anime on a big screen. What is the problem with that? I enjoyed this more then when I watched it on my TV. I am excited for the next season and I recommend this for anyone who is curious about what's to come.

Could've cut some stuff
trinityleehocken10 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Why did they add the final bit of season 3? Genuinely, I would've just been good with the first bit of season 4, it looked like it is going to be great! If they wanted to job our memories, at most, include a recap. That would've done a lot more for the audience than a weird collection of clips and then the last bit of season 3. Adding season 3 just confused me more, well I love that season, jumping into the story of it that far in felt unsatisfying. It was really entertaining watching people who went there to get a bit of a taste of the franchise be confused on what was going on tho. Especially at the bit where Muichiro tossed Tanjiro the sword. The confusion on who that is, where he came from, who the angry guy is, and why that sword was wonderful. Then also the confusion from people when they are given a hint the sword is kinda a big deal.

Biggest scam of 2024
tijuanngoh22 February 2024
Utterly dissapointed in the film makers as they have deceived their fans on purpose. The fully understand what they are doing and made this movie as a profit push. You will leave the cinemas wondering if this was daylight robbery and feeling swindled.

The move storyline that you read here is unrelated to the film. You will breifly watch alittle training towards the last 10 minutes of the movie, however, it has nothing to do with Tanjiro. The stone Hashira does not train anyone in this movie. The producers has cleaverly writen a storyline which baits you to the cinemas, leaving you dissapointed.

The movie starts off with a recap of last season, and the recap last for the majority of the movie. (about an hour). It is followed by fillers and then 10 minutes of content where the hashiras talk about what the training program is going to be and it shows them training a few unknown characters.

Like I said before, this movie is a scam. My advise is that you do not watch it in the cinemas. Rather, wait for the new season to come out.

Another amazing release from Ufotable. SPOILER FREE
bobbykelly-6304725 February 2024
The showing was a 10/10. It had amazing action, beyond impressive animation and dove deeper into the lore. Great character moments and many hilarious scenes throughout. The amount of people throwing 1 star reviews at this should take a cognitive test. The "Movie" was advertised very clearly as the last episode of s3 and first epiaode of s4 combined to make a "movie". But of course you have braindead Timmy out here not paying attention and claiming he was "scammed" for not being given the movie that wasnt being advertised instead of reading the advertisement for what it was. For people who want to watch the first episode on the big screen a month before it premieres on crunchyroll, it is 100% worth the money. Saw it in RPX and it and have zero regrets.

MOVIE WEEK POINT OF REPLAY CHAPTERS
chlllxe8 March 2024
I mean the big problem is not because the movie was bad, it was all about the director always wanting to bring up old parts of the movie, which were already released and played again on the big screen.

I was so confused but less than the first time I saw the last movie, and yes of course it was also about playing something again before starting a new chapter. And it was so short of the new chap that I didn't even think that I had just finished a new part omg.

I love this anime but every time it came to the cinema, it was just so disappointing. Hopefully, there is gonna be a new way of making a movie but not a replay.

A total letdown cash-grabbing film
iprattham23 February 2024
I gotta say, I'm a big fan of Demon Slayer. The characters, story, animation, all of it, I'm into it. But this movie? Total letdown. It felt like they just wanted our money, a total waste of time and felt like a cash grab.

More than half the movie was just the recap of the last episode of Swordsmith Village Arc, and the rest was just a poor copy from Manga and ended abruptly. The fantasy and action parts? Barely there.

I watched this in 4DX, thinking it would add some excitement, but I was wrong. The 4DX scenes were few and far between. Most of the time, we were just stuck in our seats like it was a regular 2D movie. Me and my friends are completely dissatisfied of this!

More Of The Same
armandicoag26 March 2024
It is always a pleasure to see the effort that the designers put into the animation of this series, everything they do allows a series with a story just above average to become something majestic because of the way they show it, Unfortunately, since it is simply 3 chapters of a series that we have already seen together, little more can be said about what has already been observed.

More than an experience going to see a movie, it is watching a series on a gigantic screen, of which unfortunately 90% of the story they tell you you already know and you are only left wanting more. Not that this is bad. Just what is what is.

An Exceptional Film for Devoted Demon Slayer Fans!
Karmikal24 February 2024
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and found it quite appealing. Approximately 60% of the film serves as a recap of the events that transpired during the conclusion of the "To the Swordsmith Village" arc. Surprisingly, this aspect did not bother me, as it skillfully revisited the most exhilarating action of that arc, which I found to be quite enjoyable. The remaining portion of the movie seamlessly introduces viewers to the new arc, "To the Hashira Training."

As a devoted Demon Slayer fan, I wholeheartedly give it a 10/10 rating. I believe it has been expertly crafted and successfully brings together various elements to create a captivating cinematic experience.
