Sex & Nudity

  • A topless stripper can be seen during the montage set to (the song) LA Woman.
  • Many seedy looking locations can be seen during the same montage, many of which have signs proclaiming things like "Live nude girls!"
  • Homosexuality is briefly mentioned but not deeply explored.
  • Jim Morrison was arrested for exposing himself on stage and this is briefly discussed in the documentary (the actual act itself is not seen.)

Violence & Gore

  • Nothing really shown or referred to.

Profanity

  • Some cursing used casually, but not in an offensive way, nor is anyone using it to berate anyone else.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Lots of talk about all of these things, the band members did them heavily and casually in their heyday, and they can be seen smoking in the studio in archival footage.
  • The interviewees are not shy about mentioning that they, as well as the late Jim Morrison, were drug users, and at times go in to detail.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some of the inspiration behind some of the songs is quite disturbing, as are many of the band's stories. However it is nothing too major, and no truly graphic material is shown on screen, only mentioned and discussed.
  • JIm Morrison's death is discussed but not deeply explored, his dead body is not shown on screen or anything like that.
