A great short film
domenicocutrona14 January 2016
The film is a mix of emotions that focuses its attention on team play, and everything that surrounds the world of sport that is a paradigm of life itself. The penalty is the eternal battle between reason and insecurity which brings the protagonist to deal with the true concept of the film: the growth. The symbolism of growth faced by the values of sport. The cast it lived up to the message he wants to leave the viewer. Children and adults recited in a harmonious and perfect, worthy of the best productions. We are witnessing a high-level photography and the director takes in the best way the entire short film. The shots are bright and manage to empathize with the audience as if it were in the football field. Personally I would have liked from the beginning. Fantastic.

A short sweet movie
HarisKoudounas14 January 2016
The writer Giancarlo Trapanese commented a short passage of this movie in a report screened on RAI-3. It was enthusiastic, and I was fascinated enough to justify the vision. In the end I was particularly touched, admitting, however, that I usually watch other genres. I try to sum up my point of view: the story confirms something that is not new, which is the fact that each of us can potentially be or become anything he/she wants with the same chances of success. It's only about the choice that any individual, more aware and responsible (conditions that are not alternatives!) will make of his life coming close to the peak of success or to the abyss of the failure.

A metaphor about life
ClaudioAmat14 January 2016
"Man cannot grow in life without sufferance because he is both the marble and the sculptor (Alexis Carrel). Love and football. Has there ever been a more honest pairing? Fun feel-good story, well told. A short sweet movie, a metaphor about life. Simple and clean. Besides this, I read an interview at Trenton Film Festival from the author. I know that the actual meaning of this story is totally different from what it seems. The movie speaks about something else than football, even if it seems just an innocent movie for teenagers. Negative reviews focusing on technical details can only come from people not getting the real sense of the message.

The first time that i watched Il Rigorista i thought that was a promo for an USA movie. After i knew that it was an italian film directed by italian director. I found it, and i think now the same, that this is a great film with a wonderful cast. I like a lot the final scene (i cannot speak about it for spoiler)

Not really worth watching.

I only got the feeling that a football fan or maybe an ex-player was sharing a moment he had shooting a penalty shot. A moment important to him so maybe he thought sharing it would make a good film.

There was no depth, originality or interesting story. The writing and the acting while not terrible was nothing memorable. There was no clear storyline making viewers lose interest. Frankly the film was very tedious to sit through. I've seen better from 1st year screenplay writers in college.

It did earn a second star for the cinematography. While still amateur it was done reasonably well.
