On the whole, 'Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo' is one of the weakest of the Scooby Doo shows. It did though have a very watchable first season, with the best episodes actually being very good and only one episode being below average. After the first season, the show very quickly went downhill and never really got better despite some watchable shorts here and there. Shaggy and Scooby were always the most interesting characters and didn't mind that they were main protagonists, did mind though that the other protagonist is one of the main reasons as to why Season 2 onward did not work.

"Pigskin Scooby"/"Scooby and the Beanstalk"/"Tenderbigfoot" was another one of the watchable triple bills, though still a very uneven one. It was surprising though in that the best of the three shorts, and one of the better ones of the show, was the one that sounded the least appealing. And the one that actually sounded like it would be the best turned out to be the weakest. That was interesting. There are improvements, but still a lot of the usual flaws.

"Tenderbigfoot" is the best of the three and one of the show's better shorts. It was very cute, without being too cutesy, with the best part being the part where Scooby found Scrappy when they went over the waterfall. It was also funny and did like the creepy bigfoot character and the setting. "Scooby and the Beanstalk" had good things too, did like the animation on the beanstalk, the dreamy atmosphere and some amusing moments from Shaggy and Scooby.

Voice work from all involved is spirited on the whole, Casey Kasem and Don Messick are great as Shaggy and Scooby. Have always liked the theme tune, which is catchy.

However, there are a good deal of shortcomings. "Pigskin Scooby" had potential with its setting, but felt very over stretched and repetitive and the outcome felt really implausible and strange. Far too easy defeat and seeing the trio up against seven big characters was a recipe for certain failure. Did not care for the characters of the Monrovian Monsters, very weirdly designed, annoying, not that menacing and a better job could have been done with explaining what they were as the short didn't seem to make its mind up about that.

"Scooby and the Beanstalk" is better definitely, but could have been more a lot more imaginative and less predictable. The ending felt rushed too. The animation is very rushed looking and flat with very irregular character designs. The music is nice on its own but doesn't always gel with the action, some of it on the repetitive side. The dialogue tends to be too corny, apart from the amusing comedy in "Scooby and the Beanstalk". Scrappy dominates too much and is annoying, also found him pointless in "Pigskin Scooby".

Concluding, worth one or two watches but doesn't hold up to repeat viewings. 5/10.
