Solid for what it is, but needed more expansion or context, and that final shot felt too clunky and unnecessary (mild spoilers)

A confident young man and a nervous young woman sit together in his flat. He starts to try to seduce and relax her, while she equally tries to be relaxed and go with it.

I like to jump into short films without knowing much about them; I find it is too easy for too much information to be shared in even very short write-ups, and usually I like the films to just do their thing and I'll trust them to tell me whatever it is. In the case of Neil though, the majority of the film doesn't provide much context. We see the couple being delicate and awkward with one another, and this was nicely done to be intimate and draw the viewer in close to it. It has an odd air to it, but this becomes clear. The final third of the short provides the context, and actually that is interesting because of what it means. The aspect I enjoyed the most was the actresses' work, her emotions afterwards tells you about the impact and results of what went before. Unfortunately the film ruins this aspect by adding a tear to Neil in the final shot – something that really felt clunky and unnecessary by that point.

It is nicely made and worth a glance due to how short it is; but it feels like there should have been more expansion of the idea, and perhaps a little bit of setup going in at the top. Interesting though.
