- Strong real violence throughout
- Footage of the Jordanian embassy bombing is shown. Bloody corpses and bodies are seen
- A man is tied up, shot in the back with a rifle, kicked in the ribs, flipped over and then shot again in the face. Then the camera gets close up. A lot of blood is seen. This is all shown clearly.
- A man is shot in the head off-screen. His bloody body is dragged away and searched. He is gasping for air as the soldiers leave him bleeding. His head is deformed and blood is a over him. He is left to die and the camera lingers on this event for a very long time. The soldiers laugh, joke, and make comments at the man. This is incredibly disturbing.

- A couple scenes that show footage leading up to beheadings. One scene shows the aftermath as masked men parade a man's head around.

- An intense gunfight takes place at night. Only muzzle flashes are seen. We see the after math and learn that a soldier single handedly killed 6 men. He shot some and killed others in hand to hand combat. We see their bodies get dragged out and some bloody wounds.
- Michael is constantly under threat for the entire film. In one scene, he describes how he was almost beheaded.
- An American soldier is shot and the wound can be seen although is is all from a distance.
- Tons of explosions from suicide bombings, mortars, or IEDs. Most of these bombings kill multiple people.
