Needed more of the 'coming of age' elements IMO

Not a bad film, This was the coming of age type film of a young 20 something man that spanned over half a decade of his life.

To me, on screen, what I saw was a man in his late 30's/early 40's in the role(the actor(s) visually), and to be honest didn't see any of the life changing, life moulding events that take place to make a young man become a developed man in a 'coming of age' like film.

To me it was a man approaching 40 get involved in one relationship and move to another while simultaneously move from one job to another and another. The lead character was honestly fairly uninteresting, didn't change in an interesting way. It did feel like real life at some points which I enjoyed.

I couldn't really connect with him because I never really knew him as a character, what made him tick, what at heart he was really about or yearned for in any way, what he feared, what he loved, he was quite distant for a lot of the movie, it felt like he was just put into this movies plot so the film could happen rather than a fleshed out character in the film.

Some of the locations are nice, it has a mellow feel to it all. I felt relaxed while watching it, that I liked but unfortunately I was not emotionally engaged.
