I get my satisfaction elsewhere

Warning: Spoilers
This episode demonstrates the great bond that is shared between Coulson and May. We also get the turning point for Fitz as well as some pretty fight scenes.

Let's first start with the two characters we focused on: May and Coulson. These two have always had each other's backs and it was great to see these two going in alone on a mission. I also really like how it was shown how much they need and know each other, with Coulson knowing that May hates coffee, and May knowing where Coulson would hide out. Also, having May tell Coulson that she will never kill him kind of hints at a possible romantic relationship which I am okay with.

The fight scene that May had with...not May was really awesome. The special effects were well done to make it look like she was fighting a clone. I will say though, Agent 33, said that she knew all of May's moves, yet from what else we have seen from May, she didn't really compare to May's true awesomeness, IMO. I also love the nod to Captain America the Winter Soldier, with 33 using the face mask to change her appearance like Black Widow did. Looks like Hydra's learning from their mistakes.

I am really happy that Fitz is starting to help the team and that the team, especially Mack, is welcoming him back in and trying to help him heal. Fitz was maybe my favorite character last season and I want him to get healthy. I will say though that de Caestecker's performance of recovering from brain damage is extraordinary as it doesn't diminish his effectiveness yet still addresses the problem.

Plus, big news that the carving on the back of the painting...is NEW! Meaning someone else has the GH-325 in them and is out there carving. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of what that writing is as it keeps looking like a road map or something.

+ May and Coulson + Action + Fitz recovering + Who's carving?

Final Score: 9.3/10

SHIELD's newest incendiary weapon - Ming-Na Wen
A_Different_Drummer18 October 2014
Don't get me wrong, I like the show, but some of the plot gymnastics are a little over the top. Personally, I don't care whether Hydra takes over the world or simply launches a new sports drink, I watch the show for the infamous Whedon character development arcs. And then out of nowhere, two full months early if this had been intended as a Christmas present, comes this, the 4th episode in the second season and - wow -- Ming-Na Wen (who, and I apologize if I did the math wrong) is now in her 50s's, does a dance step in a revealing dress; followed by something that looks an awful lot like a Torture Porn scene in her underwear; and suddenly I just instinctively know that -- at that very moment -- Heidi Klum is cowering in her closet, eating Ben & Jerrys, and wondering if it is even Possible that she too will age that well....? Wow. According to Businessweek, Hollywood is desperately looking for someone to play the next Wonder Woman. Watch this episode, guys, and your search may be over. Same episode, Fitz has a chance to show he is still useful and gets some male bonding done. Wonderfully fun little episode. HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY

Fun, but not quite up to the quality of Season 1

It's fun. It's nice seeing our favorite character arcs continue. Feels like the B-Writing team.

Re-watch thoughts

This episode switches things around, adding a hyper fun spy tone with undercover shenanigans, face changing masks, laser grids and all that jazz, and it features one of the greatest fight scenes I've seen on TV, it is also a good example of mixing fun and playful tone with a serious overall plot...kudos for the writers who always balance tone perfectly.

Another great episode on a great season so far.

Clark Gregg can play it cool like anyone else (he is really giving to both Yun- Fat Chow and Bruce Campbell a run for their money), and Ming-Na Wen tough girl act, just pair up perfectly with him, making the episode a wild fun ride. Is a great pay off for the fans, not just giving us something on the big baddies of the season, but mostly moving up with the "secondary" plots, which is really all about the best part of Agents of Shield: the characters.

Heck, I'm not really into spy TV shows and I specially hate those "undercover" episodes, but this one was awesome. Not particularly smart, I grant you that, but entertaining as hell.

Just the face masking just did not work very well

Warning: Spoilers
Sorry, just changing the face is not enough, and neither of the doubles has quite the right body for those that they are impersonating. Maya Stojan definitely cannot pull off Ming-Na Wen boobs in that dress. and Simon Kassianides does not fill out the uniform quite the way that Adrian Pasdar does, and his posture is all wrong. Not to mention all the other little gesture, walt and other details that one has to duplicate. And then the speech. And really, Ming-Na Wen could not be wearing that slip under that dress with such a high slit. LOL But a fun episode all the same.

The fight scene

Warning: Spoilers
...between Agent May and the faux Agent May is worth the price of admission alone, and the rest of the episode is fun as well. We have action, humor, and the gorgeous Ming-Na Wen in a silk slip... what more could we want?

Outstanding!
