I am not a lost it.

Warning: Spoilers
Lorraine Esmeralda (Anne on psychological evaluation form) Willy (Lorraine Malby) believes there is a portal to another dimension in Chelmsford. She is guided by Hogan (Had his name removed from credits?) who is her "Internet Guru" guiding her to the portal for donations. Most people, well actually everyone, believes she is crazy, but not a danger to anyone as she quests for the opening. It is revealed late in the film, she was dipped in Agent Orange as an infant.

Lorraine Malby is to cinema what Susan Boyle is to singing...just close your eyes and imagine it is someone else, like Kurt Russell. This is a low budget cult production, reminding me of "Pegasus Hunter" in its brand of quality and zaniness. This is the brainstorm child of David Hollinshead and Philip Thompson who apparently were smoking while reading Gerald Massey's work on ancient Egyptian name origins of British pubs.

I liked the film overall, but there were too many mediocre scenes that lacked entertainment, particularly when the writers and directors inflated their egos and imagined themselves as actors, having to be on the screen.

Guide: Excessive F-words. No sex or nudity (thank you Lorraine for drawing the line.)

The Hitchhikers Guide to Essex

Shot in Chelmsford, this nonsensical, episodic comedy centres around an overweight woman called Lorraine (Lorraine Malby) who believes to have discovered a portal to another dimension in Essex. This low budget production packs a lot of surreal humour that is bound to please fans of Adult Swim and Troma. It is however very uneven and does overstay it's welcome but is weird enough to be worth a watch.

One of the worst indies I've seen

Warning: Spoilers
ESSEX SPACEBIN is one of the worst indie features you'll find playing on Amazon Prime at this time. Shot in Chelmsford, it's an episodic, surrealist comedy which follows around an overweight woman who just so happens to be the only person on Earth to recognise a sinister portal which has opened up to an alien dimension. Said woman then goes on some 'madcap' adventures. Needless to say that this film isn't funny at all, but interminably lengthy with a few CGI vistas to make up the 'sci fi' content. It's dreadful.

A Unique Masterpiece

Wow. This movie is amazing. It's definitely not for everyone but for the people who connect with it, they will be blown away. There are shades of Adult Swim, Napoleon Dynamite, David Lynch, After Last Season and Repoman. It is VERY uneven in plenty of spots - from cinematography to writing to acting - the movie is truly all over the place. But because of this, it gives the film a schizophrenic quality that brings it to a genius level and, I feel if properly showcased, could influence a whole generation of filmmakers. Don't let the Troma logo fool you. This is, without a doubt, the best movie that Troma has ever signed for distribution that I've seen so far.
