"Reynolds has made my dream come true..." Hold on! The year isn't over yet! There's still a few contenders waiting to premiere. Focus Features has debuted a new "sneak preview" trailer Paul Thomas Anderson's latest film, Phantom Thread, featuring details on sneak preview screenings happening in New York and L.A. Don't forget, PTA ran this kind of preview for The Master a few years ago as well. This is supposedly the final film for acclaimed actor Daniel Day-Lewis, who is retiring from acting (for now). Set in the 1950s in London, the sensual story is about renowned dressmaker named Reynolds Woodcock, as played by Day-Lewis, whose "carefully tailored life" is disrupted by love - as you can watch in this new trailer. The cast includes Lesley Manville, Vicky Krieps, Camilla Rutherford, and Jane Perry. The movie "paints an illuminating portrait both of an artist on a creative journey,...

I’m writing an article about how it’s even possible that Idris Elba wasn’t named the sexiest man alive. Hold on, I’m still processing this. The fact seems to be that he Did receive the votes for being the sexiest man alive, but obviously that tally didn’t really matter as far as the results went since People magazine decided to kind of hijack the popular vote and deliver unto the people Blake Shelton as their choice for the dubious honor. Did I say dubious? Yes, yes I did and I’ll explain that in a moment. No judgement and no intention to

Nobody knows better than Jason Aldean the cruel and random nature of tragedy.
When he signed up for a benefit concert back in September, he was volunteering to help hurricane victims. But by the time he took the stage in Nashville on Sunday night, he was singing, as well, for the victims of bullets that had rained down on his own Las Vegas concert.
As Aldean told the sold-out crowd at Bridgestone Arena, “It’s been a rough couple months for us up here.”
Aldean’s presence brought a raw immediacy to the evening, and the 40-year-old artist chose to respond with defiance.

Taylor Swift‘s surprise performance led to a touching unexpected coincidence for a grieving Jimmy Fallon.
On Monday, Swift made an unannounced appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, during the comedian’s first show on air since the death of his mother Gloria.
The singer, 27, performed her new song “New Year’s Day” while playing the piano following the late night host’s monologue. Serendipitously, the lyrics unintentionally referred back to a touching story Fallon told about his mother squeezing his hand three times to say “I love you” when he was a child.

Taylor Swift doesn’t give a damn about her bad reputation. Or does she?
On her sixth studio album, Reputation, the Grammy winner, 27, plays with perception. Since rising to fame in 2006, Swift’s knack for super-personal storytelling has been a blessing and a curse. She’s one of the best-selling female artists of all-time. But she’s also fallen prey to the pitfalls of fame and, in recent years, has become as well-known for the headlines she makes as the music she releases.
And it’s her experience with fame — and how it’s influenced her reputation — that fuels her latest LP.

“I never trust a narcissist, but they love me / So I play 'em like a violin, and I make it look oh-so-easy.”
The opening line of “I Did Something Bad,” off of Taylor Swift’s newest album, Reputation, -- available now via iTunes -- is loaded with enough contradiction to make your head spin.
On one hand, it’s delightfully baffling to hear the word “narcissist” being levied by one of the world’s biggest pop stars -- who is literally launching a social media app that is entirely focused on herself. And yet, in its own frustrating way, the line is a cathartic moment of apparent honesty from an artist traditionally so guarded in “curated authenticity,” that we’ve never stopped questioning who the real Taylor is. If you choose to, it’s not hard to relate to the feeling -- allowing mistrust in your love life to consume you, to the point of...

Five years ago, Derek Hough wrote an encouraging song for a friend experiencing tough times. But the track remained unreleased until Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington’s July 20 suicide.
“I met him in Utah at the children’s hospital. We golfed together briefly and I met his kids,” Hough, 32, tells People in this week’s issue. “Having met him before, his death really got me. I became inspired.”
The former Dancing with the Stars pro put out “Hold On,” his first solo single, with The Movember Foundation earlier this month in hopes of changing the dialogue about men’s mental health.

Derek Hough thinks the time has come for men to “man up” and help change the culture around sexual harassment.
Amid numerous allegations against multiple Hollywood power players — including producer Harvey Weinstein, director Brett Ratner and actor Kevin Spacey — the 32-year-old Dancing with the Stars champ said that men have an opportunity to “rise up and man up and be good men.”
“I think that a lot of men too are honestly afraid to open up and have that vulnerable side come out and talk to their guy friends or their girlfriends and just be open and honest,” he continued.

Emmy Award-winning Derek Hough is delving into the music world this November and releasing his first solo music single, a track titled “Hold On,” to help spread the word about the importance of mental health awareness.
Hough teams with the Movember Foundation, the leading global organization committed to changing the face of men’s health, to assist in their initiative to educate the public about the need to talk about mental health and suicide prevention, topic that hits close to home for him, and he’s using his song “Hold On” to do so.
The song, which Hough wrote as an ode to those who struggle with depression and thoughts of suicide, is produced by Jayson DeZuzio (Imagine Dragons, Christina Aguilera, Skylar Grey) and Joseph McQueen (Kehlani, David Guetta). The song debuts November 1 on digital platforms iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal. The lyrics to the song speak about holding on and not letting go,...

Every fall she dies, only to be resurrected in the spring. John Oliver discussed the Equifax security breach on Sunday's Last Week Tonight, outlining how the credit reporting agency could have prevented the cybersecurity disaster.
In September, Equifax announced that cyber thieves hacked into the company and lifted sensitive information – including names, birth dates, social security numbers, driver's license info and addresses – for roughly 145 million Americans. And as Oliver emphasized to his millennial viewers: it's a huge deal.

Sisterly love sometimes means throwing a little shade and being a little tricky in the Kardashian family.
In a new sneak peek clip from Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian try to give sister Kim Kardashian West a break from social media after her self-confidence is rattled by some unflattering bikini pics that surfaced from her private vacation in Mexico.
So the sisters concoct a plan to get Kim away from her phone -- by having her help clean out Khloe's closet!
"Will you come to my closet and help me filter a few things?" Khloe innocently asks.
She agrees, and Kourtney swoops in with the mom card. "Can I use your phone, though, to call the kids? Because no one was answering me," she says.
Kim hands her phone off to Kourtney, as she accompanies Khloe upstairs.
In the confessional, the two reveal the logic behind their plan.

In a sneak peek at Sunday’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloé and Kourtney devise a plan to help Kim get over her body confidence issues. (On last week’s episode, Kim, 37, broke down after a set of bikini photos of her on vacation in Mexico surfaced in the media, which she said led her to develop “body dysmorphia.”)
“Kim is normally not this insecure,” says Kourtney, 38, during a confessional. “If she just didn’t have access to social media or just stopped looking at the blogs, I think that she would start to feel better.

On my first day in Milwaukee I learned a new term : Cream City Brick. Hold on a second and say it aloud. Let it roll around in your mouth. Cream City Brick. There's something very satisfying about the combination of those words, isn't there? There's a real weight to them. You can feel it. You can feel a history in them. The history of a city, and the history of its people. You can make out these cream colored bricks all over Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Cultivated from a clay found on the banks of Lake Michigan and the Menomonee River Valley, the bricks were used to construct a plethora of late 19th century buildings, across neighborhoods, industries and classes. They were used to build churches....

I've always wondered what it would be like to spend an entire day with someone like Derek Hough, the actor, choreographer and singer who became famous for his time as a professional dancer on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. I’ve interviewed him countless times on red carpets or inside industry events, but I never expected a day in the park with him to be so intimate or inspiring.
I recently joined the performer on a visit to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore in Porter, Indiana, along the southern shore of Lake Michigan. Hough was there in celebration of the National Park Foundation's "Find Your Park" initiative, a campaign to promote the lesser known parks across the country. "Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen. How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first...

The Australia Zoo welcomed its first white Koala Joey in January, but she just recently ventured out of her mother’s pouch. The unnamed Joey was one of 12 born and is the only white one, making her quite unique.
According to the zoo’s website, the Joey is not albino, which would be less unusual. The BBC reports that her color might change over time, and that the zoo has asked the public for help in naming her.

The news cycle surrounding Woody Allen these days tends to go as follows: Reminder of previous allegations, followed by announcement of new film, followed by talent in new project being asked about allegations, followed by new film receiving either critical acclaim or relative indifference, followed by new reminder of previous allegations.
Right now, we’re in the “announcement of new film” phase, with Tuesday’s casting of Timothée Chalamet, Elle Fanning, and Selena Gomez in Allen’s upcoming untitled feature film. But that same morning, Hulu premiered the most savage takedown yet of not just Woody Allen’s modern day work as an auteur, but the cult of personality around him.
“Difficult People” in general and creator Julie Klausner in particular have never been shy about poking fun at certain topics the rest of Hollywood might consider taboo. Just consider the metric ton of jokes about Kevin Spacey’s sexuality...

It's hard to sum up my love for Louis Tomlinson, who I more affectionately call King Louis most of the time, because he's a talented man who deserves to be celebrated as such. Louis, formerly of One Direction fame, has gradually been breaking into the solo music scene since the group went on hiatus at the end of 2015. Last year, he and Steve Aoki collaborated on the dance hit "Just Hold On," and now Louis is back with another hit, this time with Bebe Rexha, called "Back to You." Most likely, you haven't heard of Louis, because it seems like everyone only knows about Harry Styles, but I'm here to tell you that Louis is the one to watch. Back in the 1D days, Louis wrote a lot of the band's music, and now that he's a solo star, he's not only writing his own, but he's writing for other artists.

Louis Tomlinson says his late mother wanted nothing more than for him to clear the air with former One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik before her death last December.
“My mum said, ‘You’ve got to get back in contact with Zayn. Life’s too f—ing short,’ ” the “Back to You” singer told The Sun in a new interview.
Johannah Deakin succumbed to leukemia at age 43 after being diagnosed just earlier that year.
Said Tomlinson of Deakin, “A mother’s intuition is just f—ing crazy. It always felt supernatural to me. My mum always knew what I was feeling and what I wanted.

Valerian: The City of a Thousand Planets’ Cara Delevingne on getting the part of a lifetimeValerian: The City of a Thousand Planets’ Cara Delevingne on getting the part of a lifetimeMarni Weisz - Editor, Cineplex Magazine7/19/2017 10:00:00 Am
Cara Delevingne acted like a real animal to get the role of interplanetary special-ops agent Laureline in Luc Besson’s eye-candy spectacular Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
If you’re expecting a story about a spoiled model-turned-actor throwing a tantrum to get a super-fun part in one of the summer’s biggest sci-fi films, you’re going to be disappointed. But the real story’s pretty good too.
It’s about Delevingne’s unconventional audition with the visionary French director Besson (Leon: The Professional, The Fifth Element), who was finally set to make a big-screen version of his favourite childhood comic book, Valérian and Laureline, by French writer Pierre Christin.

Stars: Scott Adkins, Marko Zaror, Juju Chan, Cung Le, Keith David, Vladimir Kulich, Matthew Marsden, Charles Fathy | Written and Directed by Jesse V. Johnson
Ok, let’s all just say it together. Scott Adkins is the saviour of Dtv action movies. Charismatic, skilled and just a downright badass (and likeable) actor, whatever Adkins seemingly touches turns to gold – the Universal Soldier franchise was improved by his addition, as was the Undisputed series: in fact he made that particular fighting franchise Better with each and every sequel. Even the football-themed series Green Street was made watchable by the appearance of Adkins in the third installment, and that coming from someone who, typically, refuses to watch movies based on idiotic football hooligans.
Hold on… Turns out I may have a man-crush on Scott Adkins! And that’s not a bad thing.

Chris here. Quentin Tarantino has begun to lineup his next film to shoot next year, and it could be even bloodier than his divisive Hateful Eight if the subject matter is any indication. Hold on to your stomachs, the provacateur will next be tackling the Manson murders.
While this seemingly won't appease anyone put off by Hateful's gruesome antics, the potential for something great is there and Tarantino reportedly does have a unique take on the material yet to be revealed. Per his previous comments, this looks to be his penultimate film, but I'm guessing that that's actually as likely as that "unique take" being a tamer vision regarding onscreen bloodshed. My first guess is that like Inglourious Basterds before it, Tarantino will be doing a bit of revisionist history with the details of Charles Manson's enacted violence.
Casting is already promising some major talent, with reportedly approached stars including Brad Pitt,...

Jay Baruchel chats to us about comics, X-Men movies, Goon 2 and Jason Statham...
Jay Baruchel is a very happy man indeed. Over the last decade, I’ve been fortunate enough to interview a lot of people for Den of Geek, but Mr Baruchel might just be the most enthusiastic one to date – almost every sentence ended with the kind of joyous laugh that would come from having, quite possibly, the best job ever, twice. Known to most as an actor with a gift for the comedic, having starred in the likes of Tropic Thunder, Knocked Up, Goon, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and The Art Of The Steal (to name a few personal favourites) as well as voicing accidental hero Hiccup in the fantastic How To Train Your Dragon movies, it was about his recent involvement with Canadian comic book publisher, Chapterhouse, that we had a chat with him about.

Hold on. Contain your angry little fingertips for a microsecond and hear me out here.
When Captain America: Civil War first came out, it felt like everything that we hoped for from a comic book movie. From Spider-Man finally joining the McU to Black Panther’s incredible debut, it was an ensemble film that defied the odds and left us happy once the credits rolled.
That said, if you watch the flick a year later, you’ll undoubtedly see that it’s not really the best Marvel release around. It’s quite overrated, in fact, if you think about it. Heck, it wasn’t even the best comic book movie of 2016, either, with that honor belonging to the remarkable and pitch-perfect Deadpool.
Now, we’re not saying that it’s a bad film per se – not at all – we’re merely pointing out that it’s not the Wayne Gretzky...

Edgar Wright was, by his own account, "21 years old, living in North London, broke and on the dole – that's British for 'welfare'" in 1995 when he was struck by what he can only compare to a near-religious vision. The filmmaker was in the process of editing his first movie, a low-budget Spaghetti western homage, but the future director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had nothing lined up and no sense of what he really wanted to do with his life. And then he put on "Bellbottoms," the first...
