Warning: Spoilers
Excellent episode. The female French leader at the NATO summit came across as the modern day Madame De Farge. She threatened to derail the agenda due to the support that the nations gave the US to destroy the supposed killers of the American government officials. It now appears that we killed the wrong person and agent Hannah Welles, in captivity, seems to be paying for that mistake as described by the guy who has kidnapped her.

The journalist's article couldn't have occurred at a worse time for the president.

At least, at the end, the French Minister did meet for 5 minutes with Kirkman and the two shook hands at the end. In other words, there is a possibility of rapprochement.

While Kirkman heads to France for a summit, that idiot reporter releases his information. He is considered cannon fodder by the bad guys. Back in the U.S. Hannah Wells is on a huge barge full of packets. Some of them contain explosive devices. We are headed for a wild conclusion to the first season.

France now controls NATO

And apparently the entirety of all American foreign policy. The writers ignore the fact that France has more than 300 nuclear weapons on submarines and aircraft. So of course their leader scolds the US for ruining the whole world over its nukes unless of course the American President publicly apologizes to the whole world. If this show lasts 3 seasons the bad guys will be called 'literally Hitler' or maybe just 'Trump'. I am drawn to show to see just how bad it can be.
