Chapel Hart took the stage for the last time on Tuesday night as they sang for America’s votes during the “America’s Got Talent” finale performance show. The Mississippi country trio admitted “song choice is probably everything” when host Terry Crews asked them how they planned on standing out from the crowd. Well, they raised the roof with their original song “American Pride” during the live show and had the audience up on their feet. Watch the “AGT” video above.
After previously earning the Golden Buzzer from the entire panel, Chapel Hart has been heralded by country superstars like Dolly Partner and Tanya Tucker. They clearly have a huge future ahead of themselves, but did they do enough to join the “AGT” winners list? The judges were mixed in their critiques, with both Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel mentioning their off-key vocals.

New Delhi, Sep 13 (Ians) With his sharp googly and attacking mindset, young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has been one of the finds for India in T20Is this year. Since his debut against the West Indies in Kolkata this year, where he bagged the ‘Player of the Match’ award, Bishnoi has picked 16 wickets in 10 T20Is, averaging 17.12 and at an economy rate of 7.08.
Many expected Bishnoi to be in the Indian side for the Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia next month. But it wasn’t to be as Bishnoi was named as one of the four reserves for the mega event in October-November.
Legendary India batter Sunil Gavaskar feels Bishnoi should not be disheartened by not getting into the squad of 15 for the World Cup as he has age on his side.
He urged the Jodhpur-based leg-spinner to now perform in coming matches in such a way that he becomes ‘undroppable’.

And in episode two, which premiered Aug. 25, viewers learn that the Hulk is aboard a Sakaaran spaceship, heading somewhere in space. There are two things to know going into She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Disney+’s first Marvel comedy series. One, it is very much a comedy, and two, it is very much a TV series.
Yes, Hawkeye may be competing at the Emmys as a comedy (and it did have moments both fwip!py and quippy), but She-Hulk is, as Tatiana Maslany’s title character tells us up front, a “funny lawyer show.” And whereas the likes of WandaVision, Loki, Falcon and Winter Soldier have all felt very much like [groan] “X-episode movies!,” She-Hulk (which premieres this Thursday) is by design more episodic in nature,...

“Jeopardy!” is holding on to both its hosts while reaching to conquer new ground.
The venerable game show confirmed that it has signed long-term deals with both current co-hosts Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings, who will continue to co-host the show as Sony Pictures Entertainment and executive producer Michael Davies plan to expand the franchise.
“The fact is, we have so much Jeopardy! to make, and so many plans for the future, that we always knew we would need multiple hosts for the franchise and we are just so grateful that Mayim and Ken stepped in and stepped up to put the show in a position to succeed,” said Davies in a memo to staff Wednesday.

Exclusive: Three-time Oscar nominee Woody Harrelson is in talks to join Lionsgate’s ensemble 1970s jukebox musical Sailing from Rock of Ages creator Chris D’Arienzo.
Project is billed as a bunch of musicians in the late 1970s as they discover the smooth sounds and smoother lifestyle that is yacht rock, the soft rock music genre that took over FM radio during that era.
D’Arienzo sold the pitch with Jeremy Plager, who will develop and produce with MegaMix (Jonathan Levine and Gillian Bohrer) and Harrelson.
Speaking of yachts, Harrelson recently starred as the hysterical, Marxist captain of one in the Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winning comedy Triangle of Sadness.
“Everything about the yacht rock vibe, ethos and lifestyle will be brought on board this fun and hilarious nostalgic comedy,” said Lionsgate president of production Erin Westerman. “We’re thrilled to be working with Jeremy, Jonathan, Gillian, Chris, and Woody,...

Fully on-site last week for the first time since 2019, Spain’s Conecta Fiction & Entertainment, its first major TV event, returned to much of the winning formula of its early pre-pandemic editions: A spectacular setting in Spain, here the august historical city of Toledo; TV project pitches; an intense conference strand; marvellous networking opportunities, most especially the possibility of spending quality time with mover and shaker industry figures from Spain and Latin America.
“I love to be here and it’s healthy, mainly for networking. I’m learning a lot, it’s like going to school,” Fremantle’s Manuel Marti enthused at Toledo. Most attendees would agree with him.
But, compared to 2019, the industry has moved on and is now buffeted by larger turbulence. Following, 12 takeaways on a robust, intense 6th Conecta Fiction, running June 21-24:

The duo are the latest (human) cast members announced for the series, joining previously announced stars Lilly Singh and Tahj Mowry.
The comedy series follows The Electric Mayhem Band — Dr. Teeth on vocals and keyboards, Animal on drums, Floyd Pepper on vocals and bass, Janice on vocals and lead guitar, Zoot on saxophone and Lips on trumpet — on an epic, music-filled journey to record their first-ever studio album. Spanish distributors, who have enjoyed a strong track record selling remake rights to local pics, have received a major boost this year with the Malaga Festival Industry Zone’s (Mafiz) inaugural Remake Day event on Thursday.
Leading film sales companies, among them Cinema Republic, Latido Films, Filmax and Feel Content, presented showcases of films considered particularly adaptable to foreign markets. Not surprisingly, comedies and genre pics made up most of the selections.
David Castellanos’ Cinema Republic offered one strong example with Borja Cobeaga’s hit 2009 romantic comedy “Pagafantas,” which has over the years sold to Germany, Italy and Mexico.
Cinema Republic also touted Icíar Bollaín’s “Rosa’s Wedding” (“La Boda de Rosa”), about a woman in her mid-40s who decides to finally take charge of her life and fulfill her dream of starting a business.

Launched by “El Chapo” producer Camila Jiménez and its creator Silvana Aguirre, L.A.-based The Immigrant, in which Fremantle has a 25% stake, has hired Oscar-nominated filmmaker Javier Fesser to direct its upcoming Spanish series “Custodia Repartida” (“Shared Custody”), a dramatic comedy from María Mínguez (“Vivir dos veces”) and Juanjo Moscardó (“Amor en Polvo”).
The company recently expanded its Mexican team with the appointment of Claudia Valdez as director of physical production. Valdez brings more than two decades of experience from across film and television to The Immigrant and will be critical as the studio enters production on multiple television projects.
One such project, “Shared Custody,” is a dramatic comedy unraveling after the fallout of separation between two parents, and an examination of that increasingly common dynamic in the modern world. Many families cannot afford to live alone, because often those with money have little time and those who do have time frequently struggle financially.

Key members of the team that shepherded hit biopic “Born a King,” about Prince Faisal of Saudi Arabia, talked about the experience of “witnessing the birth of a film industry” in Saudi, as Spanish director Agustí Villaronga put it, during a Cannes Virtual Market panel. They also announced that they will be making a sequel.

The “Saved by the Bell” revival has found its lead.
Josie Totah, who previously starred in Mindy Kaling’s short-lived “Champions” series at NBC, has been cast to lead the series in the works at Peacock.
The forthcoming NBCU streamer, set to launch in April, announced the revival back in Sept. 2019, along with the news that original series cast members Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley would be reprising their roles in addition to serving as producers.
Here’s the logline for the revival: When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state – including Bayside High. Panama City — Fueled by one of the strongest film tax incentive schemes in the world – with a 100% break for national productions, 25% break for international productions, and 1.5% withholding tax – the Dominican Republic has seen a surge in film production since the new film law was enacted in 2010.
This phenomenon has been further leveraged by the creation of the Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios, operated by Lantica Media, as part of a partnership with the Pinewood Studios Group.
The favorable fiscal climate has attracted a rising number of English-language shoots including Netflix’s series “The I-Land,” the BBC-NBC three-part series “The Long Song,” and Barry Jenkins’ “If Beale Street Could Talk.”
The Dominican Republic’s film industry, with around 25 films produced per year and average budgets close to $1 million, stands out in the Central American and Caribbean region, where filmmakers are often forced to resort to guerrilla filmmaking techniques to get their films made.

“My pronouns are she, her and hers. I identify as female, specifically as a transgender female. And my name is Josie Totah,” wrote the 17-year-old actor, previously known and credited professionally as J.J. Totah.
Titled “My Name Is Josie Totah — And I’m Ready to Be Free,” the essay describes Totah’s experience of having been misidentified as a “gay boy” for much of her career despite beginning her transition at the age of 14.

The catalyst for Totah’s self-realization was watching the TLC docu-series “I Am Jazz,” about another young trans girl.
“I looked over at her in the middle of the show and said, ‘This is me. I’m transgender. And I need to go through this,'” Totah wrote. “My mother,...

Josie Totah, the 17-year-old star of Mindy Kaling's former NBC series, Champions, revealed she is transgender in an essay written for Time magazine.
"In the past, I’ve halfway corrected people by telling them I identify as Lgbtq," the teen, formerly known as J.J., wrote. "I wasn’t ready to be more specific. I was afraid I wouldn’t be accepted, that I would be embarrassed, that the fans who knew me from the time when I acted in a Disney show would be confused. But I realized over the past few years that hiding my ...

As Deadline exclusively revealed in April would happen, Lionsgate Entertainment has bulked up its asset base of content generating and client representation by completing a majority stake purchase for top management/production company 3 Arts Entertainment. We reported last month that the deal was in the works, and that Lionsgate is in talks to buy 50% of 3 Arts with an option to acquire the remaining 50% in five years. The numbers we heard pegged 3 Arts’ valuation at $300 million at the least, with some sources indicating it could be closer to $350 million.
The management/production company’s leadership would be staying put after the transaction. That includes 3 Arts partners Erwin Stoff, Michael Rotenberg, Howard Klein, David Miner, Dave Becky, Nick Frenkel and Molly Madden.
Lionsgate and 3 Arts had no comment at the time.

Madrid — Two female-driven feature comedy projects with potential international appeal, Cristina Trenas and Isabel Delclaux’s “Three Astronauts” and Roberto Goñi and Laura Molpeceres’ “Two Friends,” proved top highlights at the fifth edition of Pitchbox, held in Madrid.
Organized by online platform Filmarket Hub, the films-in-development showcase took place May 22, attracting a typically select but high-quality caliber of executives and represented companies from key players such as Telecinco Cinema, Atresmedia Cine, Tve, Warner Bros. España, DeAPlaneta, Tornasol Films, Morena Films, Latido Films, Dynamo and TriPictures.
The seven projects pitched, previously filtered and analyzed by Filmarket Hub, generated a wide-ranging selection in terms of film genres and budgets, while reflecting women’s growing visibility in creation, direction and lead characters.
Event’s networking also served to confirm that Spanish film industry problems remain, from regulatory uncertainty to under-capitalized public funding schemes and the commitment to independent production of many public broadcasters.

If you don't already know her (who are you?), Mindy Kaling dominates the world of comedy television writing, bringing us The Mindy Project, Champions, and many wonderful episodes of The Office. We love her for her quick wit, vibrant sartorial choices, and never-ending pop culture savvy.
Many of us are also fascinated by her wonderfully complicated relationship with former costar B.J. Novak. As writers on The Office who dated in real life, Mindy and B.J. also portrayed tumultuous on-and-off lovers Kelly Kapoor and Ryan Howard onscreen. They're no longer dating, but their current relationship will give you serious friendship goals (and also make you secretly hope that they'll start their romance back up).
Here are some ridiculously lovely things that they've said about each other that'll make you gush. Be warned, what you're about to read is very sweet and will make you want to have a "soup snake...
