The best episode ever! I mean it this time!

Warning: Spoilers
"Baby" was the episode that I wasn't really looking forward to as it's the second episode that everybody loves. The first one features Star being evaluated by a little kitty cat named Baby! Okay, the fact that we see this adorable little cat the whole episode makes me love it! It ends with appearing that Star has failed but at the very last minute she manages to pull one major spell off that finally satisfies Baby. When Baby gets back to Mewni, Star's parents are told that Star is becoming more powerful than ever and we get another allusion to their ancestry with Queen Eclipsa. Great and cute episode! ****

"Running With Scissors" is simply the best episode in the series because it's a very self analayzing episode. In this one, Marco gets in trouble for misusing Star's interdimensional scissors and the creator of the scissors, a witch named Hekapoo takes them from him and challenges him to put out her flame. She even gives him the chance to go back home but Marco wants those scissors so he literally spends SIXTEEN YEARS defeating Hekapoo's clones and becoming a muscular hunk in the process. It's just amazing to see how awesome he's become.

It turns out time moves differently in this dimension, so only eight minutes have passed! Marco considers staying in Hekapoo's dimension, but Star says he should go back to his friends and family. I actually was genuinely sad when Marco went back and lost his hot body! I mean, he literally spent 16 years becoming big and strong and now it's all pointless. Okay, he got the scissors which is the main thing that he wanted. It's just that he failed so many times in the show, I really wanted him to get the strength he deserved.

I'm just so impressed by how this kid literally spent over a decade to earn his own scissors when he could have just left when he got there. It's determination like this that makes me love a character like him. He's a guy who never gives up. It's great to see a character get stronger even if it doesn't last. At least you got the respect you wanted, dude. It's weird because we've never actually seen him use his scissors even since he got them. With Star going back to defend Mewni, I'm sure he'll use them soon enough... ****

The Best Two-Parts Episode of Season Two
sofiaulrikson19 October 2018
Many jump to the conclusion that "Baby" and "Running with Scissors" are unequal in quality, as the latter has been praised much more than the former. They are both very strong episodes, without doubt, and are - in spite of the opinions of many other people - most likely the two strongest 11 minutes episodes of season two.

"Baby" has an intriguing plot with room for small, witty scenes. It explores Star and her magical abilities, which creates emotional moments between the characters. Baby, is of course hilarious to watch on-screen, and is by far one of the most memorable one-episodes characters.

"Running with Scissiors" explores its plot in an exciting way, and creates memorable action moments, while surprising the audience. It is perhaps the most popular Marco centered episode, which is understandable. It is one of the most unique episodes as well.

Both episodes are wonderful, and though both have strengths that aren't found much in its counterpart episode - including "Baby"'s emotional scenes and "Running with Scissors"' action - they are some of the best episodes; especially in terms of their brilliant match as almost equally entertaining.
