Leaves some facts out
rogerdsr8 March 2018
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's son, Rory Reid, represented a giant Chinese energy firm, ENN Energy Group that wants to use federal land, grazed by the Cliven Bundy family, as part of its effort to build a $5 billion solar farm and panel-building plant in the southern Nevada desert.

In addition to representing ENN Energy Group, Rory Reid also happens to be the former chairman of the Clark County (Nevada) Commission who persuaded the commission to sell 9,000 acres of county land to ENN on the promise it would provide jobs for the area. Reuters reported back in 2012 that part of the land ENN wants to use was purchased from Clark County at well below appraised value.

In addition to the county acreage, the federal Bureau of Land Management at one time was looking at BLM property under dispute with the Cliven Bundy family. During the original Bundy ranch confrontation, the BLM was headed by Obama appointee former Harry Reid senior policy adviser Neil Kornz.

Neil Kornz, the government bureaucrat who originally sent armed thugs to provoke a potentially deadly confrontation with the Bundy family was a Harry Reid crony.

In the end, this was payback from Harry Reid and the Obama run BLM against this family.

But of course you'll NEVER hear this in any "documentary" being allowed on liberal controlled media outlets. So much easier to blame everything on "militias" and "patriot" groups instead.

convinced me to not support any form of gun control
deebeefc15 July 2018
I was willing to agree that Americans don't need access to assault weapons until I saw the documentary about our government attacking American ranchers with all manner of assault weapons in an effort to steal their water and land resources. The 2nd amendment was passed to prevent an over-powerful federal government from abusing the states and the people. It is more necessary today than when it was ratified. I now believe that we the people are entitled to own the same level of weaponry that our federal policing agencies use against American ranchers in an effort to steal their property.

True story of our government's war against the West, killing and imprisoning our own citizens
califcomedy22 September 2017
This is a must see for all proud Americans. The true story of how bureaucrats and regulatory agencies take over private property and are ready to kill and imprison our citizens. About the incident of the Bundy family in Nevada and the government murder of peaceful protesters in the Oregon stand-off.

Garbage

First off as PROUD AMERICAN who lived near this, the vast majority of people here want these public lands to stay in public hands, not just for preservation but because they are a source of revenue and jobs for local people in small communities that are mostly ignored, even by this joke of a movie. Secondly if this movie checked a history book they would find that the government only owns these lands because they have to keep bailing out ranchers for the last hundred years, which has cost taxpayers Billions. Personally I wished the movie would have focused on how these families own the us/taxpayers millions for grazing their cattle on public lands.

Poor attempt to color this in favor of the heinously misinformed and misguided. These folks were wrong at every turn.

one sided dangerous propaganda
benandjacque28 August 2017
This is basically a propaganda film for white nationalist militia groups that ignores most of the law and interviews mostly only terrorist sympathizers. Out of all the press that witnessed the event. They can only find a buzzfeed reporter. They interview people with no law degree to get the legal view of the film. Then they fail to present the actual legal side of the argument.

A must see for every American
catjack-6911412 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie will leave you mad as hell at our government. It reminds me how we treated the native Americans and how we broke promises in the name of bureaucracy. It has made me follow the families and hopefully they will receive justice for the murder that the government committed on Lavoy Finicum. It also goes to show how, then President Obama failed this family when he had the power to pardon them. Instead he chose to pardon people like Chelsea Manning and Oscar Lopez Rivera along with 300 other drug dealers and convicts. Thank God President Trump stepped in and Pardoned Dwight and Steven Hammond.

Fight Uncle Sam and lose

Warning: Spoilers
I agree with the other reviewer in that this film is a must see documentary. Another must see is the documentary INSIDE JOB. Here in American Standoff we have big government fabricating lies about controlled burns. I've seen the government start controlled burns in California that caused many neighborhoods and forests burn to the ground. Here we have slight burning of government land that will undoubtedly improve the soil for all vegetation and wildlife. To make matters worse the government guns down an unarmed citizen for no justifiable reason. They were trying to kill more people, but they were poor shots. Watch it!

What a lot of garbage
jchaverr1 August 2018
An occupier says what's wrong with America when they occupy federal land willingly and one of them gets kill, but I said where is the outcry from this same tool when a black, latino "American" gets killed because of the color of their skin. I guess the government is only wrong when a white guy gets kill, even though he is willingly breaking the law and armed. This is a one sided load of garbage documentary, one side tells the story that they are fighting for "all" American rights, I said bs if that is true, I did not see any of them in Ferguson "peacefully" protesting!!!

Garbage propaganda
jchaverr1 August 2018
If you are so interested in fighting injustice, come to the inner city and protest against police brutality, support the football players who do peacefully protest!! This is nothing but a piece of garbage propaganda, with the "fake" news theme coming out of their mouth as well

Complete manure
TK_DC19 October 2019
It sounded like an interesting title and topic, but the movie was pure bovine droppings.

It didn't even succeed in its misguided attempt to make the main characters look like heroes. The still looked like radical nut cases. The film could have successfully made the Hammond's look like sympathetic characters, but instead showed how their cause was hijacked by some radical fringe group. The real tragedy is that the group probably radicalized a normal man and got him killed - and that the Hammond's will never get clemency because they are now associated with these nut cases.

I know from my work on a farm that you get used to the smell of animal feces. In the case of this movie, you would have had to be on a steady diet of info Wars feces not to smell it clearly in the message they were shoveling in this film.
