The Sale

Phil's sale of the house is not going well and the asking price is getting lower.

The estate agent suggests an open house. Sandra tells Phil that she can get him a better price if she arranges the open house but for a cut of the proceeds of the sale of the house.

Queenie is intent on putting any potential buyers off and Roger sings badly with a toy puppet.

This is feeble stuff. John Cleese gets to have a Basil Fawlty moment at the end of the episode.

It is poor writing, poor characters and no comedy. Why did the audience have to endure James Cosmo and Jason Watkins atrocious busking act?

Prismark10 beat me to it. I can only endorse wholeheartedly their comments. Having enjoyed the first series, I was looking forward to the second. What a let-down! Puerile doesn't even begin to describe it! It was as if the writers simply took the characters at random and thought "Let's get them doing something silly in an unstructured way, involving unbelievable and annoying situations" Alternatively, it was like a bad improvisation class, after which the tutor would have said, "Have you all considered doing some other line of activity?. You're obviously not suited to this." Won't be watching it again.
